High School Senior Brings Cardboard Cutout Of Hero Fiancé To The Prom

The senior prom is one of the last chances high school seniors get to hang out with all of their closest friends, boyfriends, and girlfriends before heading off in separate directions for their next adventure.

So when one Lawton, Michigan senior found out her fiancé wasn’t going to make it because he was going to be serving overseas in the US Air Force, she had to get creative to make sure she could share the special night with him. Instead of just going with a friend, 17-year-old Lexi Akerson decided to bring a life-size cardboard cutout of her 20-year-old fiance, Brandon Turner.

“I came up with the idea by joking around with my friends I should take a Fat Head of him to prom since he cannot make it,” Lexi said. “But my friends’ reactions were hilarious, they loved the idea, and thought it was adorable. Especially the parents loved it since he couldn’t be apart of prom, yet he was still here with me…”

At first, Lexi was crushed that her boyfriend of three years wouldn’t be able to make it to her prom, but she knew she would be seeing him soon when she moves to England after graduation to be with him. To make the best of the situation, she brought Brandon’s cardboard cutout to prom, and even danced with it and posed for pictures together.

Social Media Users Warn Mom That Her Baby Is Showing Signs Of Eye Cancer

If you’re friends with any new mothers on social media, you know how much they love taking pictures of their little ones and sharing the adorable snaps online with friends and family. But when this mom and dad posted a picture of their daughter to Instagram, they were stunned when they started reading some surprising comments.

David Campbell, co-host of the Australian Today Extra show, first posted the innocent snap of his 16-month-old daughter Betty to Instagram to poke fun at the adorably messy way she decided to eat her food, and captioned the post saying: “This is a photo of a cheeky Betty who thinks you need to eat tomato sauce off your plate face first.” But instead of looking at the sauce covering her adorable face, users were more concerned with the color of her pupils.

David and his wife Lisa regularly post pictures of their five-year-old son Leo, and their 16-month-old twins Betty and Billy, but this was the first time one of Betty’s pupils were hazy and white, which can be a sign of eye cancer, tumors, or other eye diseases that cause blindness.

‘Thank you,” Lisa wrote in response to their concerned followers. “From the guidelines, as she is not front on, it’s more unlikely there is a problem, but we’ll investigate further to be safe,” Lisa, who never even realized there could be a problem, wrote.

Mom Puts Down Her Phone And Realizes How Much She’s Been Missing

There are many situations where the effects of texting and using smartphones have  become abundantly clear. Texting while driving, for example, causes a 400 percent increase in time spent with eyes off the road.

One mom started to wonder what exactly happened when you start taking your eyes off your life and your children after she realized she had spent an entire afternoon at the playground with her twin boys with her eyes glued to her phone.

“Today I did an experiment, I watched my boys play,” Brandie Johnson wrote. “As I sat quietly in the corner of the room I tallied how many times they looked at me for various reasons: to see if I saw their cool tricks, to seek approval or disapproval for what they were doing, and to watch my reactions. I couldn’t help but wonder if I was on some sort of technology what message would I have been sending?”

With her pen and paper in hand, Brandie tallied a total of 28 looks from her boys, which she normally would have missed entirely. “28 times my angels would have wondered if the World Wide Web was more important than them. 28 times my boys would have not received the attention most adults are searching for. 28 times my loves would have questioned if they were alone emotionally. 28 times my kids would have been reassured that who you are online is what really matters.”

Brandie felt she had failed her sons for not giving them her undivided attention, but vowed to be more present for her children and loved ones. “Please put down your technology and spend some time with your family & loved ones. The next generation of children is counting on us to teach them how to be adults, don’t be too busy on social media, you never know who is watching and what message you are sending,” she wrote.

Abandoned Dog With A Broken Back Proves He’s A Survivor

Maverick cover

Maverick is an adorable terrier mix who was abandoned as a pup and left to live on the streets.

It was there that he was hit by a car, and the accident left him completely paralyzed with a broken leg.

Luckily for Maverick, Chris from Polka Dogz Pet Rescue found him lying on the street and took him to the rescue, where he immediately received medical care. According to iheartdogs.com, one week after rescuing Maverick, he was seen by a total of four veterinarians. Heidi Hardman, President of Polka Dogz said,

“Our first vet did x-rays and realized his back was broken. We went straight to a specialist. At the specialist we realized the extent of his injuries. His leg was severely broken, his spinal cord completely severed. He had no control of his bladder or bowels. We had to make a tough decision. When I went back to see Maverick, he just melted into my hands. I knew I couldn’t fail him. I promised him we would help him. Against the recommendation of the neurosurgeon, we were going ahead to see what we could do for Maverick. He spent two nights at the emergency vet getting fluids and antibiotics. He had a CT scan which revealed something both horrifying and inspiring.”

Vets learned Maverick’s spinal injury was at least one-month-old. His spinal cord was sitting at a 90-degree angle and the pieces were growing back together one on top of the other.

“It broke my heart to think of this precious 8-pound boy having to be outside on his own with a broken back fending for himself for months,” Hardman says. “Though one vet told them to euthanize him, it was clear to the rescue that Maverick had living to do. Instead, they took him home and he even got an ice cream treat on the way.”

But, despite everything he has been through, Maverick is a survivor. He refused to give up on life, and his rescuers refuse to give up on him.

Since he has been at Polka Dogz, he’s learning to do handstands on his front legs to move around.

And just a few days ago, Maverick was fitted with a splint on his broken leg.

Although his back will never function, it still must be formed back together.

According to rescuers, Maverick feels no pain and enjoys walking outside with the other dogs, with the help of a homemade sling. Maverick will soon be getting a wheelchair thanks to Red Flyer and Eddie’s Wheels.

Popsicle Sticks Create Incredible Chain Reaction: It’s Simple Science

Science is cool, friends. Don’t ever let anybody tell you otherwise.

That’s because when you take the simple rules of physics and apply a little color and a catchy tune in the background, you end up with the coolest chain reaction video ever. It’s even cooler than this awesome clip we showed you of over 2,000 ping pong balls setting up the same number of mousetraps.

This time, we found the cool folks over at Hevesh5 who discovered that if you arrange popsicle sticks in a specific diamond pattern they will create a certain level of tension. Then you remove a weight from this tense situation, sit back, and watch the magic happen.

In this case it came in the form of a couple hundred colorful popsicle sticks flying through the air. I’ve ever seen something of this magnitude before so I was shocked when I watched this happen.

If you find this as cool as we do, please SHARE this video with friends and family. And don’t forget to tell us your feedback on Facebook. Likewise, if you yourself have conducted any neat experiments of your own that create a chain reaction as cool as this one, we’d love to know all about it.

Perhaps you remember the 2014 summer hit ‘Happy’ by Pharrell Williams. If you’re anything like me, you still have its irresistibly catchy tune stuck in your head.

So when US Army troops were on a humanitarian mission in Guatemala when the song first came out, they wanted to show the world how happy they were to help.

Being on the mission was as rewarding as it was fulfilling, but sometimes the work became monotonous. For a fun project, one of the female troops with a few dance moves and minor video editing skills decided to put the following video together.

The result was magic!

Third Toddler Dies From IKEA Dresser Disaster: Company Urges Parents To ‘Read Instructions More Carefully’

STIP17

Two-year-old Ted McGee tragically passed away on February 14, 2016 after his mother Janet had put him down for a nap.

Janet checked on Ted every 20 minutes, as she usually does when the child would nap. All was fine on this February day, until Janet went to check Ted again. Upon going into her son’s room, she saw he wasn’t in his crib. Instead, what she saw was the six-drawer dresser in her son’s room had tipped over with her son underneath it.

Janet and her husband’s lawyer, Alan Feldman, tell local news that neither of them heard a thing. First responders were unable to resuscitate their son.

“They didn’t hear the dresser fall. They didn’t hear Ted scream.”

Ted’s passing comes just months after IKEA was forced to make a statement in July regarding the death of two toddlers, Curren Collas and Camden Ellis, in the last few years.

[IKEA]
[IKEA]
As Philly reports, both of these previous deaths were also due to IKEA dressers of similar models.

In response, IKEA issued the following statement:

“We at IKEA offer our deepest condolences to the McGee family. At IKEA, we believe children are the most important people in the world and the safety of our products is our highest priority. Upon being informed of this incident, IKEA US immediately reported it to the authorities and an investigation is taking place.”

They continued by saying that authorities told them that the dresser in question was NOT bolted to the wall like IKEA instructions stress it should be.

“IKEA US has been advised that the product was not attached to the wall, which is an integral part of the products’ assembly instructions. We wish to emphasize that the best way to prevent tip-over of chests of drawers is to attach products to the wall with the included restraints and hardware per the assembly instructions. IKEA has included restraints with our chest of drawers for decades, and wall attachment is an integral part of the assembly instructions.”

[IKEA]
[IKEA]
The furniture sellers even warn customers that their product should be fastened to the wall to prevent issues such as these, with the warning stating:

“WARNING – Serious or fatal crashing injuries can occur from furniture tip-over. To prevent this furniture must be permanently fixed to the wall. Secure it! Learn how to prevent furniture tip-over accidents.

View the tip-over restraint assembly instructions for chest of drawers.”

Janet says she and her husband bought the dresser back in 2012 before Ted was born. She says they had no idea the dresser needed to be securely fastened to an anchored object.

If you find this story as horrifying as we do, please SHARE with a parent in your life to warn them of the dangers of not properly securing furniture. Don’t let this happen ever again!

Mom And Dad Raise Son To Be ‘Gender Neutral’

Untitled

Lisa and Martin, the parents of one-year-old Max Price, take a different approach to parenting.

Max is a happy and healthy boy who spends his mornings playing with cars, tracks, and plastic dinosaurs. However, while playing with these stereotypical ‘boy’s toys,’ Max wears a dark blue, knee-length dress with pink flamingos on the front. As he gets bored of the cars and trucks, Max moves on to playing with a baby doll, which he pretends to breastfeed.

If the situation sounds unorthodox, that’s because it is. Mom and Dad have decided to go against traditional parenting and instead raise Max with a technique known as ‘gender neutral parenting.’

This simply means that his parents allow him to wear both traditionally male and female clothes, while playing with both traditionally male and female toys.

‘If Max wants to wear a pink tutu and fairy wings, then he can wear it,’ says Lisa. ‘He’s just expressing himself. I don’t want to put him in a certain box and treat him that way. I want to teach him to be whatever he wants to be. He can pick his own clothes and, as long as they’re warm enough for the winter, I’ll get him whatever he wants.’

Confused? Perhaps the video below will shine some light upon it. Take a look and don’t forget to SHARE this video with friends and family who might have something to say on the subject.

Footage Shows Mom Saving Son Right Before She Is Killed By Escalator

Screen Shot 2016-04-21 at 1.42.19 PM

In July 2015, security footage surfaced showing a mother heroically saving her son’s life mere seconds before she was killed in a tragic escalator accident.

Warning: the following video is highly disturbing.

In the brief clip, the woman, who was identified by local media as Xiang Liujuan is seen with her young son in a shopping mall. The two take the escalator to the top second floor and as they prepare to step off, something horrifying happens.

AZG Mall in the central Chinese city of Jingzhou had already been having elevator issue earlier that day, hence why two employees stood nearby. However, upon stepping off the escalator, the protective panel collapses, causing the 30-year-old Mom to fall into the gap.

Xiang manages to push her young son away from the chasm and the two women grab him – right before she disappears inside the escalator. The employees had tried pulling the mother to safety, but were unsuccessful.

The woman’s family hopes for the story to be publicized to spread awareness of the tragedy and criticize the mall where the incident occurred.

“Facing the loss of a lively human being, our whole family is shocked and unable to react,” her sister-in-law wrote in a blog post. “We don’t know how to save all the proof about my brother’s wife’s suffering, so what we can do is to count on the media to record what happened.”

According to Buzzfeed, “a longer security camera video of the incident has been released and shows that the two staff members in the video tested the escalator, almost fell into it, but didn’t think to stop it from running. One stepped onto the panel to test it, then warned Xiang as she got close, telling her there was a problem with the escalator. Shortly after, Xiang was killed.”

If you are as shocked as we are by this horrible video then SHARE this video and publicize the tragedy as the woman’s family asked. Negligence should never lead to this kind of disaster.

Man Rises From ‘Waking Coma’ After Twelve Years And Reveals Shocking Information

Screen Shot 2016-04-21 at 10.20.28 AM

Martin Pistorius is a medical anomaly. He suffered a very rare ‘waking coma.”

At a young age, Martin began to lose mobility. He slowly became paralyzed and slipped into a coma-like state due to medical issues. While the name of his actual medical condition is either unknown or unstated by NBC, the condition has been described as turning him into a ‘Ghost Boy.’

Martin could see and hear the world around him, but he couldn’t respond or interact with it. Nurses and doctors thought he was incoherent and unobservant, so they treated him not just poorly, but with abuse.

Martin notes that many of his caretakers were saints and did exactly as they were supposed to, however, he experienced physical, verbal, and sexual abuse while in this state.

[NBC]
[NBC]
It wasn’t until 10 years into his waking coma that a nurse noticed Martin was responsive in the way that he blinked. It was at this point that reconstructive practices began and Martin started to wake from his ‘sleeping’ state.

Perhaps the most shocking part of this whole story was what he revealed when he woke. Beyond being abused at every facility that took care of Martin, he also told his mother he overheard her say something shocking!

“I hope you die,” were the words she said at one of her lowest moments. When Martin revealed that he had heard her say these words, she broke down. She says she never meant them, but with the stress and frustration of being in such a horrible situation, she felt that she couldn’t do it anymore. She had needed a way out.

Obviously, Mom didn’t mean those words and she’s been regretting them since, but this incredible story shines a lot of light on how it feels to be in such a hopeless situation. We all have our dark moments, but there is always a way out. Sometimes we pull ourselves out and sometimes, others lend a hand and yank with all their might.

Is his hopeless situation, Martin couldn’t ask for help.

[NBC]
[NBC]
As hard as he tried, he couldn’t communicate. It wasn’t until somebody truly looked at Martin and took the time to notice him, that a nurse found a way to pull him from the depth of his illness.

Sometimes, we can pull ourselves out and sometimes, we need a hand. If you want your friends to know they can ask you for help, then please Share this video. Let them know that if they find themselves in the metaphorical equivalent of Martin’s situation, they can come to you and ask for guidance.

SHARE this video too, to let friends know that you’ll keep an eye out for them, because sometimes, what looks like a coma is really a cry for help.

If you have 256 crayons lying around (and the artistic skills of a god), then this video is for you.

Likewise, if you just enjoy watching people turn ordinary objects into extraordinary creations while a pop tune plays in the background, this video is also for you.

I’m sure you’ve seen these videos before where artists and craftsmen turn ordinary objects into craftily sculpted masterpieces. These kinds of videos are always so intriguing because they show us the span of human creativity.

It’s been said that the imagination is boundless and it’s videos like these that prove this statement true. It’s so cool watching how some people can manipulate something as simple as colored wax into a vase.

This skilled artisan, Peter Brown, can turn just about anything into a work of art. From Oreos encased in resin to colored pencils transformed into a ring, this man sees the potential for art where others don’t bother to look.

If you find this video as neat as I did, then please SHARE with friends on Facebook and inspire them to push their creativity outside the box today!

Mom Uprooted Her Family To Colorado To Enure Her Son Receives Medical Marijuana

If a Mom told you she was uprooting her entire family to move 700 miles so her 14-year-old son could have easier access to marijuana, you would probably be hesitant to name her “Mom of the Year.”

But Amy Dawn Bourlon-Hilterbran might just be in the running for #1 Mom after what she has done for her family. Amy and husband Jason, have a 14-year-old son Austin, with a catastrophic form of epilepsy known as Dravet, according to ATTN.

In December 2014, the couple left their other children, their friends, and their jobs behind in Oklahoma so they could ensure Austin receives medical marijuana treatment in Colorado Springs, Co.

After moving their family, Amy founded an organization known as the American Medical Refugees. The program aims to help families transition to life in Colorado as they seek cannabis treatment.

And while this family’s way of life may sound shocking and unconventional, it hardly compares with what Austin went through before receiving marijuana treatment.

When Austin was strictly using pharmaceuticals, Amy says he was having “hundreds of grand mal seizures a day.” The doctor approved medication did nothing for Austin’s condition and it even put him on life support when the pharmaceuticals started shutting down his organs.

So, Austin and his parents went to Colorado and since the move and the beginning of cannabis treatment, Austin has improved significantly. It hasn’t been an easy life for this family, but it is an improving one.

If you have ever dealt with any form of epilepsy or cannabis treatment, we would love to know your thoughts on the subject. Likewise, if you find this story as fascinating as we do, please SHARE it with friends on Facebook. Amy, Jason, and Austin deserve to have their story told.

Mom Takes Abortion Pill And Then Immediately Rushes To Reverse Her Mistake

[Autumn Barnes]

When Autumn Barnes, who was already a Mom, learned she was pregnant with her second child, she panicked.

She and her boyfriend had not planned for this child and with bills stacking up and instability in their living situation, Autumn didn’t know if they were ready for another child.

[Autumn Barnes]
[Autumn Barnes]
At the eight week mark in her pregnancy, she met with a doctor and began going through with the abortion process. She took the first necessary abortion pill and while she wasn’t totally okay with it, she made a decision she thought was right.

However, Fox 46 reports she quickly regretted that choice:

“When I got into the truck it just kept running through my mind,” Autumn says. “‘I just killed my baby, I have a little girl at home, how is it fair that I just took an innocent child’s life?’”

The 25-year-old mother immediately took to Google to see if there was any chance of reversing the abortion process. It was at this point that she discovered a website that provided a solution for her predicament.

[CDN]
[CDN]
It told her that if she acted fast, she could save her unborn child’s life. Autumn admits, however, that she was skeptical at first. She called the number listed on the website and discovered that because she had not yet followed through with the second abortion pill, she could still save the child’s life.

Autumn found a doctor who could help her out and two days later, an ultrasound revealed the fetus was safe and had a strong heartbeat.

[CDN]
[CDN]
Six months later a healthy Walker Barnes was born to the growing family, a month early but happy and healthy.

“He was perfect, and he was a miracle,” Barnes says. “When they laid him on my chest and I heard him scream for the first time, that was the happiest moment, well one of the happiest moments of my life.”

According to Fox 46, over three hundred physicians provide a solution to women who change their minds after they have started to go through with an abortion. Over one hundred abortions have been reversed as a result of this.

Autumn says she will tell Walker this story when he is old enough to understand.

This story strongly reflects the emotional process a woman goes through when choosing whether or not to keep a child. Unfortunately, abortion is out there. We have created a monster and as we attempt to control it with legislation, we only allow it to grow.

[Autumn Barnes]
[Autumn Barnes]
If you believe in fostering a social climate where pregnant women are accepted for their choices rather than judged, then please SHARE this story. Let people know that just because abortion exists, doesn’t mean we need to let it create hatred among ourselves.

Have you ever stood and held the same position for three hours in the sweltering heat of a DC day in late Spring?

I have not, but I once held frog pose for three minutes during an intense hot yoga class and I thought my legs were going to fall off after.

From what the following video says, however, it appears saluting for three hours is an extremely strenuous activity and even more so for an injured veteran.

But this wounded warrior did not let his injuries stand in the way of him standing guard. Staff Sargent Tim Chambers has become a bit of local hero for the annual tribute he pays to his fallen brothers in arms during the Rolling Thunder Ride for Freedom. A shattered wrist that should have been in a cast could not keep him from holding his 3 hour long salute over a makeshift memorial to those who died for us.

Local DC News affiliates covered a special report of the veteran who shows us exactly what patriotism looks like. If you support our troops and want stories like this heroes out there, then please SHARE this inspiring video with friends on Facebook. And don’t forget to thank a veteran today.

This is one impressive Mom who knows the importance of quality time.

That’s why this Mom has a cool hobby with 6-year-old daughter Jayln: hip-hop dancing. The two of the bust out the moves for the camera even though Mom has a baby kicking around in her belly.

We’ve been seeing pregnant Mom’s doing a lot of cool things lately. For example, there was this pregnant woman who made headlines when she dead-lifted 155 while 8 months pregnant. And remember this pregnant woman who kept to her stringent workout routine while carry around her baby bump that people questioned whether she was really pregnant or had simply swallowed a grapefruit.

Pregnant women are starting to show us that just because they carry the miracle of life beneath a few layers of skin doesn’t mean they can’t do other cool stuff too.

While the miracle of life may be the coolest thing they are doing at the moment (men will never birth a human being through a hole in their body), it is not the only neat thing their body is capable of.

Check out the awesome video below of this dope Mom and her daughter dancing their socks off. And don’t forget to SHARE with friends and family.

Filmmakers Ask Parents And Children Who They Would Most Like To Have Dinner With

Screen Shot 2016-04-19 at 12.28.14 PM

Like father, like son, right? Not always…

Sometimes, children take after their parents to such a degree you almost can’t tell the difference. And other times, they surprise us by saying something we never expected to hear.

In the video below, for example, we find parents and kids being asked the same exact question and responding with radically different answers.

“Who would you have dinner with, if you could have dinner with anybody living or dead?”

[Facebook]
[Facebook]
While parents rattled off celebrities, pop stars, historical figures, and scientists, their kids said something unexpected.

“Does it have to be a celebrity? Could it be family?” asked one child. In fact, all the children asked if it could be their families. When posed with the question, they asked to have dinner with the people they only sometimes get to sit down with.

In the midst of our busy lives, we often forget the importance of coming together as a family at the end of the day and sharing the things that matter most: Dad’s macaroni and cheese while we discuss our day.

Dinner time is a special time of day and something that should be practiced every day. However, because it is a practice, it requires dedication and commitment. These are not always easy virtues and sometimes we let the things that matter most fall to the wayside because we are busy pursuing what matters now.

If you believe in the importance of family and know that enjoying meals together fosters good relations, then please SHARE this article on Facebook. Remind your friends that family is all that matters and don’t let meal time become just another checkpoint on the to-do list of already annoying chores. Make it matter!

Domestic Violence Campaign Sheds Shocking Light On How Abuse Begins

0

Screen Shot 2016-04-24 at 10.02.10 AM

Domestic violence is a horrible trend that has unfortunately grown to the level of becoming a tragedy in too many cases.

In an attempt to change the way we talk about domestic violence, Marie Claire Australia has recently come out with a shocking campaign that sheds some light on the way it begins.

Ladies, how many of us have been told that when boys treat us poorly as children, they do it because they like us?

This narrative seems to be a tale much older than time that plays out not only in the movies, but also on the playground.

Perhaps we should change the narrative, as Marie Claire is attempting to do. Just because a man gives a woman attention doesn’t make that attention a good thing. Let’s start taking note of the kind of attention we see ourselves giving each other and make sure that attention has a positive influence on the world.

After all, it was Ghandi who told us how to influence the world when he said, “be the change you wish to see in the world.” I want to see the world change for the better, therefore I am trying to be more conscious of my own decisions and the influence they have.

If you too wish to see a positive change in the world and if you are willing to enact change in your own life, then please SHARE this video to spread the message that change starts with us, and domestic violence ends with us.

This salaciously savory deed comes to us courtesy of the Australian Firefighters Calendar, which is mildly objectifying these men for the sake of the puppies and sick children. The calendar features shirtless heroes holding four-legged furballs that are up for adoption.

So if you are feeling especially charitable today, you can get a copy of the calendar and make it all for a good cause. The calendar’s proceeds will go towards the Children’s Hospital Foundation and the Westmead Children’s Hospital burns unit, as they have since the first edition back in 1993, raising more than $1.3 million for charity over the years.

Some of this installment’s sales will also be donated to Mates4Mates, which provides rehabilitation for current and past members of the Australian Defence Force, and animal care organization RSPCA.

And while you may have trouble snagging yourself one f these hunks, you can rescue one of the other models. All the puppies featured on the calendar are up for adoption through Safe Haven Animal Rescue Inc.

Almost any mom has received unsolicited advice or opinions from friends, family, and even total strangers about anything from what their child should be eating to how they should be disciplined. After being constantly bombarded with opinions and questions about her choices as a mother, one Australian mom found the perfect solution to finally shut everyone up.

Like every other mother, Annie Nolan expected the occasional comment or questions about her son Malachy and baby twin daughters Delphine and Cheska. However, it started going too far when inconsiderate people asked her questions about whether or not she had considered aborting one of her kids, and others even told her that if she had aborted one of her twins, who were born 13 weeks premature and may consequently have learning disabilities when they’re older, everything would have been easier for her.

Nolan wanted to find a way to quiet the rude people while also answering the same typical questions she was tired of answering every single day, so she decided to  post a sign to her daughter’s stroller so people would have to ask her anymore.

“Yes, they are mine. Yes, they are twins. Yes, they are both girls. No, not identical. Yes, I know they look alike though. Yes, I’m sure they aren’t identical,” the first sign reads. “Conceived by f***ing. Born via C-section. You have twins in your family? ‘Great.’ They don’t run in my family… until now. Yes, my hands are full (sometimes with 2 glasses of wine just to get through) Yes triplets would be harder,” The second sign hilariously explains.

Taking a baby out to a restaurant is a daunting task for any parent, as they never know exactly when a tantrum will start or if their babies will annoy other diners, which is why this mom chose to sit at a small table in the back.

Jessica Rudeen had had a few tough months and was struggling to feel like a good mother to her adorable daughter Caroline, so to make up for it, she decided to take her baby out to dinner ar Panera for a mommy-daughter dinner date. Yet when she arrived, the place was crowded and cramped.

“I scrunched us into the smallest spot in the place and ended up a foot away from an elderly couple. The look of the gentleman sitting next to me reminded me of the old man in “UP” — like he might scold Caroline for crossing over to his space,” Rudeen said.

To be polite, she said hello to the couple, but then Caroline jumped into the conversation and started showing off all her talents. Surprisingly, instead of looking bothered by her nonstop talking, the old man and his wife look completely thrilled that she would talk with them.

Rudeen was thrilled Caroline was so well-behaved throughout their meal, but when she lifted her out of the high chair, she ran around the restaurant giving everyone high fives and saying hello.

“But what the elderly gentleman next to me said in that moment grabbed my heart and squeezed it so hard I thought I would cry,” Rudeen said. “He looks over to me with a gentle smile on his face and says, ‘You can tell when a baby is really loved. You have loved her very well. You’re doing a great job.”

“I can’t take credit for all of it because I’ve got an amazing husband who loves her with everything he has in him and a whole village of people who love her as well. It certainly isn’t all me. But in that moment, my soul needed a lift, and an unassuming old man filled my heart to the brim and overflowed my cup.”
