A homeless mom who is down on her luck took to panhandling on the streets for money. 

When she saw a state trooper driving toward her on a Massachusetts road, she thought for sure she was going to get cited for panhandling. The trooper’s name was Luke Bonin, and instead of giving her a ticket, he had other plans. 

Bonin drove away and went directly to a local establishment, where he ordered two meals- one for the woman and one for himself. When Bonin arrived back to where the woman was, he told her, “‘I’m not here to kick you out.’” He then handed her two meals and asked her to pick one. 

That day, Bonin was wearing civilian clothing because he was coming from court.

When the homeless woman spoke to ABC News, they learned her name was Lynn Murphy, and she said: 

“He went and took time out of his day, bought us lunch, and had it with me.” 

Unaware that anyone had snapped of photo Bonin was surprised to learn that a photo was circulating of him eating and talking with the woman.

People are now praising Bonin for his care and compassion.

Seeing your child walk down the aisle and commit to spending the rest of their lives with the person they love is an emotional moment for all parents, but for one Pennsylvania mom, that moment was even more precious since it was a moment she thought she’d never get to see.

In 2013, mom Joy Hoke suddenly lost vision in her left eye due to a condition that causes a loss of blood flow to the optic nerve called non-arteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy (NAION). Then just a year later in January 2014, the same thing happened to her right eye, which made her completely blind.

“I’m legally blind. I can’t drive. I can’t work. I can’t read and then I’m not going to be able to see my daughter get married or see my grandbabies,” 54-year-old Hoke said as she recalled the first things she realized she’d no longer be able to do.

Soon after going completely blind, a family friend sent Hoke’s husband, Dave, information about special glasses that allow the blind to see. The glasses, which are made by a Canadian company called eSight, cost $15,000 and were unfortunately not covered by insurance.

Hoke’s family and friends set up a GoFundMe account to raise money for the glasses, and by the end of 2015, they had raised enough to purchase them as well as donate an extra $2,000 to another blind woman raising money for the same glasses. “Every morning I’d wake up and tears would start streaming down my cheeks. I could not believe it,” Hoke said.

“Without the glasses my visual acuity was 20/400 and with the glasses my acuity was 20/40,” Hoke said. And thanks to her special glasses, she was finally able to watch her 26-year-old daughter Lauren walk down the aisle on her wedding day.

“It was just so amazing to see my husband and my daughter and without the glasses they would have looked like just two white blobs,” Hoke said. “I felt my throat close with tears and my eyes start to well.”

“It’s such an answered prayer, from having the glasses work for me to the fundraising to seeing my daughter’s wedding, it’s all been an answer from God,” she said.

There are a few reasons why most hospitals only allow two other people to accompany mom into the delivery room, and one of the main reasons being that it’s such an intimate and emotional moment for mom and dad.

Dad Kali Kanongata was one of those few people let into the delivery room when his wife went into labor, but he decided to film the birth so he could share the special moment with his extended family on the Polynesian island of Tonga.

However, rather than just share the incredibly personal 45-minute video with some family and friends, Kali accidentally shared the footage publicly on Facebook to more than 200,000 people without his wife’s permission.

Stunned viewers were quick to comment, and while many were impressed with how excited dad was, many others criticized him for sharing the video publicly.

“We just see it as a positive. I know some people are mad that it’s not private, but I’m from the island [of Tonga], and years ago, we would have water births in public. I wasn’t too worried about hiding anything because our culture has done this for thousands of years,” Kali said.

“I aired it live because people would rather talk about Donald Trump’s hair than the blessings in life,” Kali said to remind commenters to celebrate life’s blessings.

Almost no two women have the exact same body, which is why no two pregnancies are exactly alike. Some women barely show at all even in the ninth month, whereas others look ready to pop in just a few months, and it shouldn’t matter as long as mom and baby are healthy.

Recently, however, pregnant moms have been receiving criticism from strangers who feel they aren’t big enough or are oppositely too big. 30-year-old plus-size model Tess Holliday can’t remember a time when she wasn’t criticized for her body, but it never stopped her from becoming a model, nor becoming a mother.

Holliday is currently nine months pregnant with her second child, and over the past few months, she’s been criticized for her weight, her health, and the size of her baby belly. “Having another baby has been a beautiful process & at times, frustrating. As I enter my 8th month, my body overall looks the same other than my belly & I’m okay with that,” Holliday wrote in a caption along with a nude photo of her baby bump to silence the criticism.

“What I’ve had to learn to be okay with (WHICH IS NOT COOL) is the fact that people still think it’s okay to comment on my body: “you don’t look pregnant”, “you must be have quadruplets”, “you are putting your baby at risk” & a slew of other uneducated statements that are very far from my reality,” Holliday explained.

“When “celebrities” are pregnant in the press, they look glamorous, toned & are eager to talk about how they are going to get the baby weight off. While I’ve done my best to look as put together as possible, that’s not real life, & it’s not for most women,” she said.

“I’m part of a small minority that’s telling you it’s okay to not have a perfect baby bump, or not show at all, to be plus size & have a healthy child, & most importantly to find a care provider that doesn’t shame you about your size,” Holliday wrote.

“It’s also okay to tell someone to fuck off when they give you unsolicited advice about what’s “best” for you & your baby. As women, we know what’s best & that’s our business.. No one else’s.”

Plus-Size Model Posts Photo Of Baby Belly After Criticizm From Trolls is an article from: LifeDaily

Animals might not be able to understand every word that we say, but they are incredibly observant of their surroundings, and incredibly aware of what’s happening around them.

After growing up in a dairy farm, Clarabelle the cow watched as mother cows had their babies torn away from them soon after giving birth, and even had her own babies taken so that her milk could be collected, rather than be used to feed her young.

When Clarabelle’s milk supply eventually dwindled, the farm saw her as worthless and planned to kill her, but luckily a farm sanctuary called Edgar’s Mission in Australia rescued her before it was too late.

After arriving at the sanctuary, volunteers realized she was pregnant yet again. Once Clarabelle’s due date was less than a week away, however, the team noticed a difference in her behavior as she was keeping a distance from everyone.

Clarabelle then mysteriously disappeared, but when she returned, she was no longer pregnant yet had no calf by her side.

After searching the grounds for hours, the volunteers finally found baby Valentine in a tall patch of grass and realized Clarabelle was hiding her so she wouldn’t be taken away.

While Clarabelle doesn’t realize she no longer has to worry about being separated from her baby since she’s been saved from the dairy farm, she still continues to hide Valentine every night to be sure her baby is safe.

Mother Cow Hides Her Newborn So Farmers Can’t Steal Her is an article from: LifeDaily

3-year-old Trucker Dukes has been battling cancer for one year and a half.

He suffers from a rare and aggressive cancer of the nervous stage and has been treated for Stage 4 neuroblastoma.

Originally from Maui, Hawaii, Trucker and his mom currently live in New York, and the other day they came home to a group of firetrucks outside of their building. Trucker’s dad, Joshua Dukes, is a firefighter back in Hawaii, so whenever Trucker heard a siren, his jaw dropped.

The New York City firefighters decided to surprise Trucker, and he was beyond thrilled to see them.

Trucker walked right into the arms of Caption James Grismer, according to Hawaii news channel KHON 2.

“I see this little boy excitedly walking towards me with his eyes aglow. I opened my arms and he basically climbed up and hugged me around the neck,” Grismer said. “It was as if we’ve been friends/brothers for years.”

Grismer and the other firefighters not only invited him to visit their fire station, they also threw him a third birthday party!

The firefighters have “brought us meals at the hospital, they’ve given us rides in the firetrucks, they’ve hosted us for holidays… They’ve been amazing,” said Trucker’s mom Shauna Dukes.

She has been alone with her son in New York, while Joshua takes care of their three other children in Hawaii.

When New York Fire Commissioner Daniel A. Nigro heard about Trucker’s bond with the fire department, he wanted to make it official. On May 31, Trucker will be sworn in as an honorary firefighter at the FDNY Brooklyn headquarters.

Trucker’s mom Shauna explains that before Trucker was diagnosed, the family was at her husband’s fire station everyday.

“I think [Trucker] was just born a firefighter,” she said.

Boy Battling Cancer To Become Honorary FDNY Firefighter is an article from: LifeDaily

Marine Staff Sgt. Charlie Linville reached the top of the world’s tallest mountain on Thursday.

30-year-old Linville lost his leg in Afghanistan, and also suffered a severe brain injury when a bomb that he was defusing went off back in 2011.

Despite his injuries, Linville was determined to climb Mt. Everest, and he succeeded on his third attempt.

“Charlie Linville has officially made history as the first combat wounded #veteran to ever reach the top of Mount Everest. He couldn’t have reached the top of the world without your support and encouragement. With this accomplishment, Operation 7 Summits is complete!” The Heroes Project announced on Instagram.

The group uses the climbs to empower wounded veterans and inspire them to do great things.

“I was looking for something to completely change myself… and really get rid of the demons that were created from war,” Linville told CBS in April before leaving on his journey.

12:30 pm May 19, 2016 Nepali time. The Heroes Project was the first team to reach the summit from the Tibet northface of Everest putting the first combat wounded veteran on top of the world. The founder and expedition leader of The Heroes Project, Tim Medvetz, took a chance on an early summit bid when no other teams would. The winds on the summit were reaching 50mph when the team left their high camp at 3:30 am. It took them 9 hours, reaching the summit at 12:30pm, changing USMC SSGT Charlie Linville's life and hopefully inspiring more injured veterans to overcome their injuries from the war.

Marine Who Lost His Leg Climbs To The Top Of Mt. Everest is an article from: LifeDaily

Nicknamed “Freeway Frida,” this beautiful German Shepherd was initially seen falling or jumping out of a pickup truck in California nearly five weeks ago.

Since then, Officer Silvia Coelho told ABC News that every day she receives calls on passerby’s spotting an injuring dog. But, every time rescuers went to get Frida, she kept getting away and disappearing into the bushes.

It’s possible she was waiting for her owner’s return, or maybe the dog was just scared. Officers Coehlo describes Frida as a “ghost dog”, because officers could never see her, no matter how many times they went searching.

Luckily on Saturday, May 14, Coehlo spotted Frida with the help of a fellow officer and a California Highway Patrol Officer. Finally after five weeks, Frida was safe and they took her to the VCA Bradshaw Animal Hospital.

“She was really skinny and malnourished when we first brought her in, but she’s on the mend, and she’s doing awesome. Though she was skittish at first, she’s starting to relax now,” says Coehlo.

Frida’s veterinarian, Dr. Mike Johnson, is shocked that Frida was able to stay alive for over a month. She suffered a broken leg and possible damage to her tendons, as well as malnutrition and dehydration. But, she’s expected to undergo surgery, and should be doing just fine.

“[Frida’s] a really lovely little dog,” Dr. Johnson told the Sacramento Bee. “She has a good soul.”

Officer Coehlo said that Frida’s owner hasn’t come forward, and sadly she has no microchip. “[I] just might have to adopt her,” Coehlo said. “[Frida’s] got a strong heart and a strong will for surviving out on that median for five weeks. She’s truly amazing.”

Instagram model and expecting Mom Hannah Polites is six months pregnant, but you can’t tell by looking at her.

The fitness enthusiast from Gold Coast, Australia who operates her own lifestyle blog and fashion website. She lives a very healthy lifestyle and sticks to a highly regimented workout routine.

For that reason, the 24-year-old has a REALLY tiny baby bump, and naturally internet commentators are losing their minds. Hannah says she is used to receiving negative attention, but the criticism has no basis in medical fact. She has always maintained a fit lifestyle and is making no change due to her pregnancy.

I do not take the negative comments to heart, especially when I know I am making informed decisions when it comes to nutrition and exercise in pregnancy and motherhood. For the record, doctors have told me bub is healthy.

Sophia Bahena has had a rough year. In fact, ever since she was diagnosed with leukemia at age 4, life has been a bit rough for this child.

The result was a palace for a princess and her equally noble sisters. According to Mom, Blanca Bahena, Sohpia was diagnosed when she was pregnant with little brother Lucas. The family already had two other daughters, Liliana and Tatiana, so the diagnosis was really tragic for this growing family.

As a result of her illness, Sophia has had to miss out on a lot of activities little girls love participating in.

“She taught her younger sister her routine, and her younger sister danced it for her,” Blanca recalled. “She taught her on Friday, and on Saturday her sister danced it with a smile on her face.”

Whenever we watch horror films, we all seem to have the same reaction. Whether we’re human or feline, we collectively know when something isn’t right in the attic.

Take, for example, Togepi, a 9-month-old kitty who may not know what foreshadowing is, but she knows how to react to it.

We believe her owner let her watch Psycho, the 1960’s classic horror masterpiece. Much like myself when I watch a horror film, this cat couldn’t tear her eyes off the screen. With raised eyebrows and wide eyes, the Bengal-Tabby mix tucked her paws under her body and leaned into the screen.

You could see the excitement in her dilated eyes as the film piqued her curiosity. At one point, this hilarious cat quickly sits on her paws, as if the monsters might nip at them.

And when the jump scene comes…

Sometimes, the most important part of being a public servant is having a heart.

Take for instant, rookie police officer James Hurst, who is going viral online for the compassion he showed a young child last week.

According to WSAV, a photo surfaced showing Officer Hurst in a hospital examination room holding a 16-month-old boy. Hurst had found the child walking alone on the side of the road.

Hurst says that his training and his experience as a father to two young boys, including one with Downs Syndrome, led him to comfort the child.

“This job is so much more than just chasing the bad guys, it is about serving the citizens of the communities you work in and doing what they need you to do.” Hurst told WSAV.

The photo has gone viral on social media, having been shared thousands of times on Facebook.

“It was just natural to want to soothe this child,” Hurst told WSAV. “I didn’t expect any of this. It’s been quite overwhelming, actually.”

No arrests were made following an investigation into what led the boy to be wandering the streets alone, but the case has been turned over to the Georgia Department of Family & Children’s Services. Police report that the boy is safe and in good condition.

Perhaps you’ve seen ceramic sculptures before of hand prints. You place your palm inside a mold, sit still for a bit, and the end result is a moment and a memory frozen in time.

Well, this Mom took it one step farther with this original idea.

She got her family to sit still for an hour (a daunting task, I assure you) and had the special sculpting formula laid across the family’s arms as they held hands. When it dried, they slowly removed their hands from the pile of limbs, and found a 3D photograph of the family frozen forever.

Anybody who suffers from allergies knows what a dreadful month May can be.

However, 4-year-old Lincoln Ball is especially aware of this fact. The Utah boy has such terrible allergies, he can’t go outside during the budding season of Spring.

His parents, Tasha and Daniel Ball, recently had Lincoln tested and discovered that Lincoln was allergic to almost everything one can be allergic to.

The one thing that didn’t upset his allergies: animals.

“He walked out of the doctors office as happy as could be and said “This means I can get a puppy!!!”. So we got him a puppy,” Lincoln’s uncle writes in a comment on Facebook.

Yup, Lincoln couldn’t go outside, so his family brought a puppy inside. They got him a young St. Barnard, Bulzer, which he took to training very quickly.

And when it came to training the dog, this funny child took a unique approach. He had heard he could learn to train animals from Youtube videos, but he decided to cut out the middleman and cut to the chase. Here’s how Lincoln decided to train Bulzer.

After all, the world seems to have a shortage of that these days.

Sometimes, vacationers even come home with a new pet to brighten their lives.

Meet Arne Mayala. He’s 85-years-old, but this inexperienced tap dancer isn’t about to let something like age stand in the way of him achieving a lifelong goal.

Now, at 85-years-old, Arne is putting the time into checking items off his bucket list. So, when he showed up to his local accountant’s office recently, he couldn’t help but notice the dance studio downstairs. Dance Tech Studios was located right below, as if it were a message from above.

“It definitely surprised me,” said Robin Lind, Dance Tech’s owner. Robin has greeted thousands of dancers in her 22 years in business, but never before an 85-year-old novice.
