Of all the jobs a mom has, being an alarm clock for sleepy kids who dread going to school has got to be one of the hardest, which is why one mom enlisted the help of her trusty dog.

One morning, mom had finally had enough of wake-up duty, and instead, decided to let her determined Siberian husky named Max have a go at the difficult job. Unfortunately, however, mom soon learns that not even a determined husky stands a chance at waking up her tired son.

At first, Max’s determination and energy seemed promising, as he nudged and pounced on the sleepy teen.

Soon enough, however, Max started to realize just how difficult it is to wake up a sleeping teenage boy. When mom finally comes back to check on Max’s progress, she can’t believe her eyes when she sees max cuddled up on top of the blankets with her son who was still fast asleep.

Nursing Student Picks Out A Hilarious Cake For Her College Graduation is an article from: LifeDaily

While most expecting moms find out they’re pregnant through the tell-tale signs of pregnancy like a missed period, an expanding baby bump, and strange food cravings, others have virtually no symptoms.

24-year-old Sasha Hood had always planned on having children and even talked about the idea with her 29-year-old boyfriend Marc Jepson, but figure it was something she’d have years to think about. To be sure she didn’t have an unplanned pregnancy, Hood took her birth control like clockwork, but it seems it didn’t work quite like she had hoped.

For nine months, Hood felt completely normal, had no baby bump, and even continued to get her period but one night in March, she started getting stomach cramps that were relatively mild. When they started getting worse, however, she made an appointment at the doctor where she discovered she was pregnant.

“Even now I look back and wonder how I didn’t know I was pregnant. But I took my pill like clockwork. Until it happened to me, I never imagined any woman could have a baby and not realise she was pregnant,” Hood said. Doctors estimated she was about 28 to 32 weeks pregnant, and sent her home once the pain subsided.

“I simply couldn’t believe it at first. But then relieved Sasha didn’t have some terrible illness, I think I said something like ‘this is crazy’ and then I said something like ‘that’s great news…’ But then I had no idea Sasha was actually nine months gone,” Marc said about the moment Sasha called after getting out of the doctor’s office.

Shortly after getting home, the pain came back worse than before, and Marc called for an ambulance. “I’d had a bath to help soothe the pains but as I lay on the bathroom floor I felt the urge to push,” Hood said. 15 minutes later, baby Theo was born.

“It was a frightening moment as Marc and I realised the cord was round the baby’s neck. Luckily Marc followed all the instructions from the paramedic on the phone and managed to free Theo. Hearing him finally cry was wonderful,” Sasha said.

“But even though we were totally unprepared, we are so happy to have Theo,’ says Sasha of her healthy 7lb 6oz baby boy. “We both still look back and can’t believe we didn’t know we were having a baby. But he is absolutely adorable and now we can’t imagine life without him.”

24-Year-Old Gives Birth Just Hours After Finding Out She’s Pregnant is an article from: LifeDaily

Expecting moms often post funny pictures and videos of some of the strange things that happen during pregnancy, but when one expecting mom posted an innocent video of her baby bump online, she was stunned to see what strangers were commenting.

Reddit user ‘Rebelrochstar‘ posted a video of his pregnant wife to the site to show off her new pregnancy talent of pushing her belly button in and out, but concerned users commented on the video and pointed out that her new ‘talent’ was a sign of something very dangerous and potentially life-threatening.

The expecting mom, who is also a doctor, thought she was able to push her belly button out so far because her previous pregnancy had left her with a space between her abdominal muscles.

“That actually looks like a hernia, if that’s your wife please get it looked at asap. Today.’ user ‘knobbly_knees’ warned in his comment.

At first, dad laughed off the concern, but later updated the site and explained that his wife did actually have an umbilical hernia. “Edit: you’re right! She said it is an umbilical hernia,” he wrote back to the user who tipped him off to the potential danger.

As reported by ABC News, brave mom Courtney Baker finally mustered up the strength to write a letter to her daughter Emersyn Faith’s prenatal doctor who suggested she have an abortion.

The touching letter below has been shared thousands of times since being posted on the Parker Myles Facebook page.

A friend recently told me of when her prenatal specialist would see her child during her sonograms, he would comment, “He’s perfect.” Once her son was born with Down syndrome, she visited that same doctor. He looked at her little boy and said, ‘I told you. He’s perfect.’

Her story tore me apart. While I was so grateful for my friend’s experience, it filled me with such sorrow because of what I should have had. I wish you would have been that doctor.

I came to you during the most difficult time in my life. I was terrified, anxious and in complete despair. I didn’t know the truth yet about my baby, and that’s what I desperately needed from you. But instead of support and encouragement, you suggested we terminate our child. I told you her name, and you asked us again if we understood how low our quality of life would be with a child with Down syndrome. You suggested we reconsider our decision to continue the pregnancy.

From that first visit, we dreaded our appointments. The most difficult time in my life was made nearly unbearable because you never told me the truth. My child was perfect.

I’m not angry. I’m not bitter. I’m really just sad. I’m sad the tiny beating hearts you see every day don’t fill you with a perpetual awe. I’m sad the intricate details and the miracle of those sweet little fingers and toes, lungs and eyes and ears don’t always give you pause. I’m sad you were so very wrong to say a baby with Down syndrome would decrease our quality of life. And I’m heartbroken you might have said that to a mommy even today. But I’m mostly sad you’ll never have the privilege of knowing my daughter, Emersyn.

Because, you see, Emersyn has not only added to our quality of life, she’s touched the hearts of thousands. She’s given us a purpose and a joy that is impossible to express. She’s given us bigger smiles, more laughter and sweeter kisses than we’ve ever known. She’s opened our eyes to true beauty and pure love.

So my prayer is that no other mommy will have to go through what I did. My prayer is that you, too, will now see true beauty and pure love with every sonogram.

And my prayer is when you see that next baby with Down syndrome lovingly tucked in her mother’s womb, you will look at that mommy and see me then tell her the truth: ‘Your child is perfect.”

A Florida mom was in the Dollar General store with her 13-year-old daughter yesterday, when a kidnapper tried to abduct her child.

The dramatic footage captured from the Dollar General shows a 30-year-old man named Craig Bonello grabbing the teen, right in front of her mother’s face and trying to drag her out of the store. The mom is shown fighting back, and engaging in a tug of war with the kidnapper, trying desperately to save her daughter.

“In my ten years on the road I have never seen anything like this,” said Sgt. Craig Callahan from the scene. “He truly intended to abduct this child right in front of everyone in the store.”

Luckily, an off-duty sheriff’s deputy, Dep. Behnen, was outside the business and was able to arrest Bonello as he tried to flee in a vehicle.“This was a chaotic scene with a lot at stake,” said Commander of the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office, Buddy Grant.

“Thank goodness the girl’s mother jumped into action to prevent this man from kidnapping her daughter. And, thank goodness Dep. Behnen used his training and experience to stop this man from escaping. This is obviously someone who needs to be behind bars. He won’t be getting out anytime soon to do this again,” Grant continued.

“Behnen is a bona fide hero today,” said Captian Ricky Grant, who was also on scene. “If it weren’t for him, this guy would have gotten away.” “This certainly supports the reason why we let deputies take their vehicles home,” Grant continued.

Detectives are still investigating why this man grabbed the girl, and he will be charged with one count of kidnapping and one count of child abuse, according to the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office.

Mom Engages In ‘Tug Of War’ To Save Her Daughter From Kidnapper is an article from: LifeDaily

When a mother chimpanzee had to undergo surgery to remove two stubs of teeth that had broken off, her adorable baby refused to leave her side.

Jutta is a 40-year-old chimp, who is not only a mother of eight but also a grandmother. On the way into surgery, zoo keepers at Aalborg Zoo in north-east Denmark decided to keep Jutta and her baby together until the last possible minute to minimize any stress.

Doctors planned on separated the two once the anaesthesia kicked in, but the baby chimp was upset at the thought of leaving mom. In a turn of events, the veterinary staff allowed the chimp to stay while her mother underwent surgery. Vet Trine Hammer Jensen, said:

“The baby chimp was nervous and also quite clearly keen on protecting its mother after she was put under anaesthetic.”

“In the end we decided it was possible to do the operation and leave the chimp where she was clutching onto her mother while we worked,” Jensen continued.

During the operation, the baby chimp was very fidgety and refused to sit still, but fortunately, the surgery went smoothly and Jutta woke up to her baby in her arms.

There was one point, however, when the baby chimp chewed through the wires that were monitoring her mother’s heartbeat, but luckily, in the end, it all went according to plan.

Both Jutta and her baby are doing well.

Baby Chimp Refuses To Leave Her Mother’s Side During Surgery is an article from: LifeDaily

When Hollie Breaux Mallet from Louisiana was looking over her home security camera footage she noticed something a little strange on the video…

Hollie saw a little boy riding his bike past her house before jumping off and running into her garage to sneakily cuddle her dog, Duchess. He would only stay a few seconds and then ran away, as if he knew he was doing something wrong.

Mallet was touched by the love the boy had for Duchess, so she took to Facebook to see if she could identify the boy.

“Attn Neighbors! Anyone know who this sweet little boy is? Every now and then when he rides his bike he will quickly come and love on my dog or play fetch real quick, but always leaves quick like he doesn’t know if he should be here,” Mallet wrote.

She continued, “I’d like to tell him he’s welcome to stay and play, she loves the attention.”

Shortly after posting the video, the boy’s mother, Ginger Clement Breaux, posted on the video confirming that the boy was her son Josh.

“Thanks for the add Hollie! Josh talks about your dog all the time! Every time we pass he looks to see if she was sitting where he could see her. Just didn’t know he was doing things like this,” Breaux wrote.

“Last night when I first saw it, I was torn as a momma being happy and upset because he knows he shouldn’t be on someone’s property, but I wake up this morning more happy that he just absolutely adores dogs so much,” she continued.

Breaux said her son “turned ten shades of red” when she showed him the video but “had a big smile after and said ‘you know I love dogs momma.'” She then posted selfies Josh snapped with Duchess.

A number of people asked why Breaux didn’t have a dog of his own, and Breaux replied saying:

“Currently we do not have a dog. We had our dog Bella since Josh was 2, but she passed away last year. Things have been busy and Josh is active with after school activities so we have not jumped back into taking on the responsibility of starting all over again with a new pup quite yet. It will happen though!”

Since Mallet posted the video, over 10,000 people have shared it and thousands have thanked her for sharing the footage with the world.

Named after Superman’s birth name, Kal El was saved by the man in the video below, Eduardo Serio, after learning that monsters were trying to drug the beautiful baby panther and have him pose for photos as a source of income. Serio was inspired to start the non-profit Black Jaguar-White Tiger Foundation to help these amazing animals survive.

Raising a child with a disability can be difficult for any parent, but what’s even more difficult is seeing your loved one suffer from bullying or never-ending questions about their physical appearance.

Single mom of two, Noelle Myers, is sick of people asking her about her 4-year-old daughter, Poppy, who was born with Apert syndrome, a genetic disorder characterized by the premature fusion of certain skull bones. Instead, she wants people to ask Poppy themselves, as she can listen, understand, and explain what makes her different from other children.

The following letter by Myers was first published on The Mighty. We hope sharing it will make other parents, and their little ones, think twice about the questions we ask.

“I love your curiosity and concern. I love you. I love talking about my daughter. She is an extraordinary person.

I want to tell you something:

She can hear you.

Not only can she hear you, she can understand the words you are saying about her.

Not only can she hear you and understand the words you are saying about her, she can answer your questions about her because she is right here.

I cannot answer one more question about her hands. I can’t.

Do you know her skull has been taken apart and pieced back together and my mama heart has been dissected and sutured whole, sloppily, over and over for the past four years? Do you know we have not had a week free of appointments or procedures or therapies or surgery or consults in 1,527 days?

Do you know we have never been anywhere without stares or comments or way too big smiles in her whole life? Have you ever thought your child’s heart might explode from a tickle? That her eyes may protrude too far and rupture from a fit of laughter and glee?

Have you ever wondered if that glassy look was sleepiness or destructive intracranial pressure? A stomach bug or enlarged ventricles? Silliness or seizure?

Do you wake in panic, and nauseous, crawl to your child (2 feet away yet still hooked to two monitors) praying she is alive? Have you watched your friends bury their babies? Do you know what the pediatric ICU looks like? Do you know the hospital menu by heart? Do you ever feel calm?

This is truth. I cannot breathe about it. I cannot explain to you—in any way acceptable to the depths of me—how this feels in the real deal flesh. I am devastated. It is like an irreparable tear in a watercraft that must hold. But it just can’t. I will always be taking on water. Bailing as fast as I can—sweating and exhausted.

Today I walked the halls of the hospital and lied to my baby. I told her, “I didn’t know that rubber band around your arm was going to bite.”

I knew. I felt nauseous for weeks. I put it off as long as I could. One small blood draw—she’s seen so much worse. But this happened in my arms and I lied. I lied because I am the one who carries her into these nightmares. I pull her sleepy and soft from her cozy white bed, and I wrap her in blankets and hand her over to scalpels and needles and drugs and terror.

I am broken in ways you will never, ever come close to understanding. I am treading treacherous waters, and I know I cannot swim. This is fear.

I remember a time when I begged to feel something. Anything. Pain. Regret. Remorse. Desire.

This feeling now, the one that settles in against necessary breath—this constant and familiar beating—it is sufficient. It is everything I ever imagined feeling to be and more. So much more. More “more” than I can pull words for. It is too much and just enough to keep me here.

Do you see her frustration? Her anger and impatience with you and your eyes and your wondering? She does not need “normal” or “full” function or aesthetics. She needs real. She needs love. She needs eyes that have not been turned, time after time, away from physical differences.

So sit in it. Sit in your discomfort. Sit in your need for “normal.” Sit in your questions of when and how and where and how much. Sit there and imagine what it would be to be deduced down to some wrong thing that could be fixed but wasn’t fixed just quite yet.

Sit there and say it. Sit there and ask her what she will be.

Just today she told me she can’t wait to be a mother and a nurse and a big sister and a firefighter.

Stop looking past her and asking me questions that I cannot answer. Her name is Poppy. She is 4.

She can hear you.”

Nurses at the Regional Medical Center in Kansas were stunned when a mom delivered a very large baby last Thursday, giving him the nickname of ‘mini sumo wrestler.’

“When they took him out, the nurse said, ‘It’s a mini sumo wrestler.’ I said, ‘Why?’ Then, they showed me him and I was like, ‘That is a sumo wrestler!'” mom Gina Hilton told KAKE.

While Moses William Hilton is not the heaviest newborn on record, he is probably the biggest they’ve ever seen.

Jill White, the nursing director at Hutchinson Medical Center told KAKE, “This little guy is about double what we expect a normal baby to be. Just surprising how different that feels to hold a baby that big, and just to look at a baby with those chubby cheeks, and they’re even chubbier than what you would normally expect on babies.”

According to Hilton, Moses’ birth was not an easy ordeal. He was born 11 days early by cesarean section and suffered from low blood sugar. Fortunately, he has recovered and is a happy and healthy baby.

As her daughter sat fascinated by the mysterious thing on the wall, Holden decided to take advantage of her daughter’s limited understanding of shadows and turned the shadow puppet on her daughter to fake ‘attack’ her.

When the shadow lurched toward her, the stunned little girl adorably raised her hands off the way and falls straight back on the ground.

After the birth of their baby daughter Olive, 29-year-old Brendan Andrews’ wife took over diaper duty, but when their bundle of joy turned three months old, she realized her husband had yet to change a dirty diaper. Andrews had managed to avoid the dirty task for months, but once mom caught on, she made sure dad got a turn.

Once baby Olive went to the bathroom, mom called Andrews up to the changing table and filmed the hilarious moment with her camera as dad began wretching from the smell.

The Western Australia man was confident when he first walked up to the room, but as he began unbuttoning baby Olive’s clothes the smell hit him, and caused him to dry heave.

Andrews tries multiple times to open his daughter’s diaper, but the minute he sees the mess that needs cleaning up, his eyes start tearing and he’s forced to cover his nose with his sweatshirt.

Andrews lasted just over two minutes while trying to change his daughter’s diaper before giving up, running out of the room, and throwing up in his mouth.

A 56-year-old woman was found on the beach Wednesday at 5pm, according to local news. A rescue official had found her stabbed, not by a knife or even a weapon. This woman had been stabbed by a beach umbrella.

According to WTKR, the woman was stabbed by a stray umbrella that had been swept up with a strong wind and punctured her chest.

Virginia Beach Woman Is Killed By Mother Nature When Wind-Blown Umbrella Stabs Her is an article from: LifeDaily

When a kayaking instructor named Naude Dreyer was driving along Paaltjies Beach in South Africa he noticed something moving in the sand.

As he got closer, he realized what he saw was a young Benguela dolphin. Dreyer told Fairfax Media, “He was moving a bit and I immediately knew he was alive … and immediately stopped to help him out.”

Dreyer’s passenger filmed him picking up the dolphin and walking it into the ocean, and then gently lowering it into the waves where it eventually swam off to safety. 

“I was really happy,” Dreyer said. “I really wasn’t sure at first it was going to happen or not. I was just doing what was the right thing to do. I couldn’t leave him there.”

“You never know why these guys are on the beach; they’ve been quite active in the area quite lately and I think they were playing just too close to the waves and a bigger wave came and pushed him out [of the water],” Dreyer continued. 

Later that day, Dreyer posted the video on the Facebook page of his business- Pelican Point Kayaking, with the caption: 

“On our way back from tour this morning, we came across this juvenile male Benguela Dolphin, still alive on the beach. It’s not clear how he ended up on there in the first place. After a quick assessment and measurements, i attempted to get him swimming again. I was not very hopeful, but as soon as he got into water and realized where he was he took off like a bullet. Nice. I’ll do a drive past the same area again later just to make sure he hasn’t returned again,” Dreyer wrote.

When one mom went into labor alone at home, she immediately called 911. 

Medstar operator Kate Gillinger answered call, and assumed it would just be routine. Gillinger told KTVT, “I thought it was just going to be one of those we get there we transport and then we go to the hospital. But it didn’t turn out that way.”

Everything changed when mom, Allison Marquardt, told Gillinger that she had a history of precipitous labor. In precipitous labor, the time from the beginning of labor and birth can be three hours or less. 

Gillinger immediately told Marquardt to assume a comfortable position and take deep breaths between her contractions, and she then began helping her through childbirth. 

“Let me know when the baby is completely out,” Gillinger told the mom. She instructed Marquardt to keep pushing until the baby was out. 

“Oh! He’s out,” Marquardt said. And as soon as Gillinger asked if the baby was crying, the newborn cried out. “OK! Good! I hear that,” Gillinger said. 

Looking back on the call with Marquardt, Gillinger said “she did magnificent,” and “she was the perfect caller.” Marquardt gave birth to a healthy baby boy, who is now 4 weeks old. He has his mom and a skilled operator to thank for his successful delivery.
