Nothing can compare to the heartbreak of losing a young child, but can you imagine life after knowing that their death was because of a mistake you made as a parent?

Sadly, this is the reality for too many devastated parents after losing their loved ones. Whether the child’s death was accidental, like this woman whose daughter fell into a washing machine, or on purpose, like the monster mom who fed her baby a teaspoon of salt, there is only one reason we feel compelled to share these tragic stories: to prevent this from ever happening to another family.

That’s exactly why one Houston, Texas mother decided to finally speak up about the most tragic accident of her life, the death of her 5-month-old daughter, Lily.

“I won’t forget this for the rest of my life, but I didn’t say goodbye to her because we were in a hurry,” the mom, whose name has not been revealed, tells KHOU in the following video. “Normally, I take the older two kids to school, and today, he was trying to bless me and took all three of them,” she said of her husband, who is still too distraught to talk on camera.

Her husband had dropped off their kids at school, not realizing the baby was still in the backseat. He even went to their daycare expecting to pick up the newborn. “When he walked up to the door, they just looked at him and said, ‘She hasn’t been here all day.’”

What happened next is devastating beyond words, but it’s important for other parents to not judge and realize this could happen to anyone.

Can you believe this family’s tragic heartbreak? Please help SHARE their story with other parents on Facebook, so this never happens to another child.

Shocking Viral Video Shows Little Girl Screaming Vulgar Language At Her Baby Doll

WARNING: This video contains graphic language not suitable for younger audiences.

Just when you think you’ve seen it all, comes a video that will truly make your stomach turn…

Here at LifeDaily, we don’t enjoy bashing parents for how they raise their children, but when you watch the following video (if you can even get through the entire thing), we guarantee that you’ll agree this woman is completely unfit to be a mother… and she has set her young daughter up for a life of hate and heartache.

In a video with no known background story, we see a little girl “playing” with her baby doll, while Mom sits there recording it. This may sounds harmless enough, but the toddler instantly goes on a verbal rampage, screaming at the doll, calling her despicable names that no child should ever hear, much like this kid who was taught to “flip off” the cops.

Sadly when you hear the mom speak to her daughter, you know exactly what has happened in this household. The poor little girl didn’t stand a chance, listening to her parents speak to each other in such a disgraceful, vulgar, manner.

It breaks our heart that it’s kids like these, who are treated so poorly and have no positive influence to look up to, often grow up to be bullies, bigots, and even lead to a life of crime.

All we can do is pray that this little girl’s life is someday changed for the better… and that CPS comes and takes her far away from her unfit parents.

Are you shocked by this horrific video? Let us know in the comments and please SHARE this video with other parents on Facebook.

After welcoming an adorable newborn baby into the world, many parents can’t help but flood their social media accounts with snapshots of cute moments with their new baby.

Mom of three Maci Bookout, from MTV’s Teen Momrecently posted what she thought was an adorable photo of her fiancé, Taylor McKinney, holding their 2-month-old son to her Instagram account. However, as her followers looked at the photo, they couldn’t help but notice that the new dad was actually doing something very dangerous.

In the photo, McKinney is seen holding baby Maverick Reed in a baby sling with one hand supporting his butt and legs, but commenters were quick to scold the parents for carrying him in the sling since babies can easily suffocate in them.

According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, baby slings can be dangerous for infants under 4 months old and younger, babies with low birth weight or were born prematurely, and any baby with a cold or any illness that affects breathing.

While parents are often criticized by strangers online for harmless little mistakes, these commenters had a valid reason to be concerned since a baby sling can actually press up against a baby’s airways and can suffocate them silently within two minutes. And if the baby is not old enough to support their own head, like baby Maverick, their heads can fall forward onto mom or dad’s chest, which can block airways and suffocate them.

“The baby will not be able to cry for help and can slowly suffocate,” the CPSC explained.

New Mom Has Best Comeback When Stranger Body Shames Her For Wearing A Bikini

While many moms are embarrassed by their post-pregnancy bodies and can’t stand the sight of loose skin and stretch marks, one mom was so proud of all that her body had done for her in the last year so didn’t think twice to wear a bikini while going to the pool with her baby.

Kansas City mom Lexi Sinclair decided to spend the afternoon at the local pool with her 4-month-old baby boy, however, shortly after arriving and setting all of her things down, another older woman at the pool came up to her to ask about her baby.

“While putting Christians pool hat on, a woman (maybe mid 50s) comes up and makes conversation with me about Christian. Asking me his age, how much he weighs, how he sleeps, etc,” Sinclair wrote in a post to her Facebook. “She then proceeded to tell me that the men at the pool would feel more comfortable if I was in a one-piece swimsuit because a bikini isn’t appropriate for a mother, especially one who’s ‘still recovering.'”

Sinclair was furious that this total stranger had the nerve to shame her for how her body looked because it was making other men at the pool uncomfortable.

“Anyone who knows me knows I had a few words for this crazy, ballsy woman. But instead I just smiled, kissed my son and told her, ‘I’m proud of my body. In just one year I’ve gained 50 pounds, and lost 37. I’ve grown a human and given birth to a beautiful miracle. My body provided food for my child.'”

“So, no, my body might not be the best sight for other men to see. My stretch marks and tummy pudge might not be sexy. But they’re proof that I’ve done something amazing, and I have a man that loves me and finds me even sexier and more beautiful now. To be honest, I don’t give a tiny rats ass what other men, or a prissy twit like you think. Have a nice day though.'”

It’s hard to forget your first kiss and your first love, however, at just 1-year-old, it’s pretty unlikely this little girl and her best friend will remember the special moment.

Luckily for them, however, U.K. mom Rebecca Brett whipped out her camera just in time to film the special moment between her precious daughter and her best friend, who also happens to be her friend’s son, so they’ll always be able to remember it.

Despite being at the age where kids think kissing is gross and that boys and girls have cooties, these two lovebirds reach out for each other, close their eyes, and gently peck each other on the lips as if they’ve been rehearsing it for months.

However, these two are still young and aren’t entirely sure if they think kissing is gross or fun and they split apart and erupt in a fit of giggles the minute they kiss. The couple even wipes their faces as they pretend to be grossed out, but ultimately keep coming back together for more adorable kisses.

If you’ve ever played peek-a-boo with a baby, you’ll know how easy it is to surprise them. However, when one dad noticed his twin boys had nerves of steel, he decided to get creative to finally shock them.

While most little kids are stunned when their parent peak out from around a corner, this dad’s twin little boys never ever looked surprised when he attempted to sneak up on them, which is why he started coming up with ways to surprise them that would surely leave any other little kid in a puddle of tears.

In dad’s latest plan, he told his little boys that he’d be downstairs making lunch, which would be ready once they had gone up with mom for a bath.

As the boys played in the tub, mom secretly set up her camera, and even checked to see if they had any idea what was in store for them by asking where dad was. The two little boys told mom he was making food, and they had no idea he was actually right in front of the tub waiting to pop up and surprise them.

Dad tried his very best to sneak up and surprise his boys, however, when he popped up in front of the tub and screamed, his little boys barely seemed to notice as they let out a few giggles and smiles.

Mom Told To Abort Her Baby After Doctors See This In The Ultrasound

During pregnancy, women rely on their doctor’s guidance to stay healthy and keep their baby safe. And since doctors are literally the experts at keeping you and your baby healthy, many moms faithfully follow their advice.

However, one Australian mom is furious after her doctor told her she needed to terminate her pregnancy after she went in to get a scan at 12-weeks pregnant and found that the baby’s organs were growing outside of his body because of a rare condition that occurs every 1 out of 5,000 births called gastroschisis.

“The radiologist said it would be fine but then when I went to see my doctor he told me that I should terminate because he had only seen three other cases who all terminated,” said mom Holly Hodgson.

“Luckily, I did a lot of research over the weekend and said that I wanted a second opinion,” said Holly, who wisely followed her instincts and found out that 90-95 percent of babies with gastroschisis survive the pregnancy. “It makes me sick and angry when I look back on what he said.”

Baby Teddy was born prematurely last December, and as expected, his large and small intestines were sticking out of his belly, which had to be wrapped immediately in plastic cling wrap, then placed in a silo bag for 13 days until his tiny torso grew big enough for doctors to fit them back inside.

Teddy is now healthy 7-months-old, and Holly wants to share his story so other parents don’t get pressured into thinking aborting a baby with gastroschisis is the only option.

“He’s such a happy boy. He just loves making faces and talking to people. He always smiles, giggles and squeaks at people he doesn’t even know – it’s very cute.”

Family Vacation Tips You Can’t Leave Home Without

Ahh, summer vacation! There’s nothing like being able to finally getting to spend some quality time with family after a long school year.

Yet, once August rolls around, it’s easy for a parent to feel a little scrambled between keeping kids on track with summer camp or fun activities and gearing up for heading back to school. It’s no wonder that so many of us love to spend some time getting out of town in August… and it doesn’t matter if you head overseas to an exotic location or to somewhere a little closer to home, just getting out the door can be a feat on its own.

That’s exactly why Huffington Post enlisted travel expert and MyBuckleMate founder Meghan Khaitanhas to share her best tips for making summer travel a little easier on parents.

Here are the amazing tips no parent should live without!

• Make Your Suitcases Stand Out from the Crowd—Use a colorful suitcase or buy a suitcase belt. Another option is to use a colorful ribbon to tie around your suitcase handle.

• Check the Weather for Your Destination—you may think it’s always hot in Florida in August but every once in a while the temperature may dip at night. A simple check of the weather a day or two before you leave will help ensure everyone is comfy at your destination.

• Pack Clothes That Mix & Match—Choose clothes that are good mix and match pieces like leggings, jeans, khaki shorts, and plain shirts to give more outfit options, especially with kids who may spill or get messy. Dark colors are easier to wear more than once.

• Packing for Kids—Use a large ziplock to pack a full outfit down to socks and undies for each child. That way kids can easily dress themselves while away and you will be sure not to forget anything.

• Personal Backpacks-if the kids are old enough, give each of them their own small backpack with snacks, activities, and other essentials. Kids will like the responsibly and parents will appreciate not being asked for something every two seconds. They can use this as their carry-on for flights and as a place to keep what’s theirs while on the road.

• Important Odds & Ends—Make a list of the odds and ends you will need, like chargers. Consider a packets of Pedialyte in case someone gets sick and duct tape for use for everything from taping up a ripped suitcase to babyproofing outlets.

Below, the mom of 4 reveals the things she’ll NEVER leave home without…

Stroller: One thing can make a big difference for babies spending lots of time in their strollers – being up high. The Cybex Piam has a seat up much higher than most that, when in a pinch, can even pull right up to a table when highchairs aren’t available. It also has a big basket, lies flat, and has a surprisingly flat fold for such a sturdy stroller. Or, if you need a smaller and lighter option, the Nuna Pepp is a great solution for a small stroller that still has a flat recline for naps and can be pushed with one hand. If you have an infant, it pairs with the Pipa infant seat, which is incredibly light and easy to carry. For any stroller, invest in some accessories to help keep you organized, like the Buggy Tech Tote from Diono that has room for your drinks, phone, and other odds-and-ends you want to keep at arm’s reach.

The Perfect Bag: Choosing a bag for summer is always hard – adding little hats and sunscreen to the already long-list of things kids need on a daily basis can stretch your current diaper bag’s limit. But, who wants to look frumpy with a big duffel bag? I went to the awesome Baby Cubby‘s Diaper Bag Buying Guide and checklist to hone in on what I really needed to both look good and carry everything plus the kitchen sink when traveling both in my hometown and around on vacation. The MZ Wallace Large Abbey Tote. It looks like a purse but has an easy-to-clean interior and exterior plus tons of pockets.

Travel Toys: Travel toys don’t have to be simple. My kids love Ozobot, which is a tiny robot that can perform a variety of activities. Use on a cookie sheet in the car or pack for downtime in the hotel for a great option that won’t take up a lot of space but will provide lots of options for play and learning. Non-messy art projects, such as the Simple Needlepoint kits from Alex allow kids to be creative in the air or on the road without risk of mess. Another popular travel toyare dolls or figures that allow for lots of imaginative play. My daughters’ current favorites are the easy-to-pack Royal Princess Shimmer dolls that don’t make a mess and don’t have little pieces that are easily lost.

Swimsuit: Wherever you go there is likely to be a pool, ocean, or some other form of water. I want my kids to look adorable and stay safe. For this reason, I love Snapperrock. While we try to be diligent about using sunscreen, I love thatSnapperrock has built-in UV protection and shirts for that offer great coverage from the sun. As a bonus, they have adorable coordinating hats.

Watershoes: I learned the hard way that water shoes really are a necessity during the summer. Kids flock to water and their “regular” shoes will start showing wear (not to mention start to stink) if they get too wet too often. For the best, check outKeens that are not just super-comfy (my one year old seriously likes to sleep in his) but are available in cute sandal and sneaker styles.

Sunglasses: I don’t leave home without sunglasses in the summer and my kids need some shades too. Babiators are the best for kids since they offer UV protection, are flexible, and are hard to scratch. What’s more, Babiators will replace any pair that gets scratched or broken making them as kid-friendly as possible. My tween thinks he looks pretty cool in his and my little girl loves her pink pair!

Books: When all else fails, books are the answer to easier travel for all ages, from babies on up. There is no shortage of great, new books to choose from this summer. Try the adorable Maggi and Milo books for great adventures about a young girl and her awesome best friend/dog Milo, read the original The BFG(before or after seeing the movie), find a great picture book with a strong message about being small in Poor Little Guy, or go exploring with the fun read-aloud A Dark, Dark Cave. Vehicle lovers will love With Any Luck I’ll Drive a Truck and Blue Boat. Budding scientists should check out Ada Twist, Scientist. Or, laugh along with a mystery-solving Venus Flytrap in Inspector Flytrap by popular authors Tom Angleberger and CeCe Bell.

Travel Gear: One of my kids’ favorite things about travel? Their very own kid-sized gear. They love the kid-sized rolling suitcases from Skip Hop along with coordinating neck pillows. Another plus is leaving a big booster behind and using just the seat with booster like the Montery Booster from Diono that allows for easy removal and re-attachment of the back. For my little one, he loves the Lil’ Sidekick“leashes” we use while on the road for everything from sippy cups to toys to make sure whatever he throws overboard stays with us. This is especially important while traveling since we don’t have spares.

Keep Track: For important items you are worried about losing [things], try a TrackR that can ring anything from your camera to your suitcase to your keys to your little one’s favorite toys. Or, your TrackrR can call your phone. It’s great for peace of mind.

Despite all these helpful tips, there’s only one you need to know: make lots of memories and enjoy every minute away from home!

What are your rules for traveling with kids? Please let us know in the comments and SHARE this with other parents on Facebook today!

Having a video go viral can definitely turn a person’s world upside down.

Life post-viral craziness is never the same for 15-minutes-of-fame, social-media-type celebrities like “Chewbacca Mom” Candace Payne, who posted her now-infamous video playing with a Star Wars mask. However, there are also good amount of people who find viral stardom isn’t all you might think it would be.

Blogger Mel Watts, aka The Modern Mumma, recently learned the hard way that internet trolls and cyber bullies can be way more ruthlessly mean than the kids in the schoolyard parents are so worried about. “The problem isn’t our children,” she begins. “It’s the parents. The parents are the problem. The parents are the ones that are causing all the bullies.”

After sharing an honest Facebook post a rare afternoon “quickie” with her husband, Watts found herself in a world wind of viral fame and a lot more criticism and harassment than she could have ever imagined.

“I’m not normally your day time quickie kinda person but today I thought the amount of effort he has put into every sexual advance it would just be plain mean of me,” she wrote on Facebook. “Silver lining he’s happy for the next few days and I’m going to bed without dick jabbed in my back.”

Unsurprisingly, other moms thought she had shared way too much information and instantly attacked Watts for her honesty.

Now, in a video posted on YouTube, Watts tearfully explains to her followers how parents should really be focusing on being better influences to their own children if they want their kids to be kind to one another and end bullying.

Many brides dream of the special moment their dads will walk them down the aisle on their wedding day, however, that dream was crushed for one bride after her father passed away.

After planning an entire wedding, bride Jeni Stepien was ready to walk down the aisle and marry her soulmate, however, she still couldn’t imagine doing it without her dad, Michael, who had been murdered in 2006. She knew her father would be there in spirit, but then she thought of another, more physical way he could be there on the big day.walk down the aisle and marry her soulmate, however, she still couldn’t imagine doing it without her dad, Michael, who had been murdered in 2006. She knew her father would be there in spirit, but then she thought of another, more physical way he could be there on the big day.

After tragically passing, Michael’s heart was donated to New Jersey man Arthur Thomas, who was about to die without the transplant. “I was on death’s door when he was murdered and I needed a heart or I was going to be dying in the next few days,” Thomas said.

Before the wedding, Jeni decided to track down the man who had received her father’s heart, and wrote him a letter asking if he would do the honors of walking her down the aisle. “What a greater honor could a person have than walking the daughter of the man who’s given his heart to him. I can’t imagine a greater honor,” said Thomas, who traveled to Pennsylvania for the wedding.

For the first time in 10 years, Jeni was able to hear her father’s heart beat, and was overjoyed that his heart was with her on the most important day of her life. “I was just so thankful that my dad could be here with us today in spirit and a piece of his physical being as well. Mom Arrested After Secretly Starving Her Son For Attention

A good mom will do everything in her power to make sure her child is getting the best possible care when they’re sick, and for 13 years, everyone thought that was what one mom was doing for her terminally ill son.

For thirteen years, mom Danita Tutt has devoted her entire life to her sick son Colby, who was born prematurely and has been battling a heart condition, kidney disease, short-term memory loss, high functioning autism and brittle bone disease his entire life.

“He has a colon three times the size of an adult’s colon and he has to do stomach flushes every night,” Tutt told the media last April. “He cannot absorb any nutrients on his own so his diet consists of total parenteral nutrition supplements and his weight is down to 56 pounds.”

Recently, Colby’s health seemed to take a turn for the worse after fighting 34 separate medical conditions for years when started getting hospice care , and Tutt started preparing for the worst by purchasing her own son’s casket.

“He keeps telling us that he is ready to go to Heaven so he won’t be sick anymore. It just gives us peace knowing he is going to be with our savior,” said Tutt, who started a GoFundMe to collect money for his various treatments and surgeries. However, when Tutt wasn’t around one day, a hospice worker noticed that Colby could actually eat after she was told that the boy couldn’t have solid foods. “My evening with Colby was surprising in that Colby ate a bean and cheese burrito, a piece of cake and approximately 20 ounces of sweet tea and tolerated it all,” said administrator Connie Koehler.

Koehler immediately reported Tutt, who has since been arrested for starving the boy, keeping water from him, and faking his illnesses for attention. When Colby was removed from his mother’s care, he weighed just 55 pounds, had a colostomy bag, a central line, and a feeding tube.

Colby is now eating on his own, no longer needs any pain medications, and had had his central line, colostomy bag, and feeding tube removed.

Mom Changes Her Baby’s Name After 3 Months

Coming up with a baby name that both mom and dad agree on can be nearly impossible, since it’s the name their future child will have for the rest of their lives. However, for one couple, picking the name was fairly easy. Keeping it, on the other hand, turned out to be more difficult.

When mom Carri Kessler and her husband were picking out a name for their second daughter, there was one name that they both loved and agreed on: Ottilie. “I have a friend in the U.K. named Ottilie and it’s beautiful, and ever since I heard that name I’ve wanted to use it,” Kessler explained.

However, the minute their little girl was born, they started second guessing the name they picked out. “The nurse came in and asked what her name was, and we said, ‘Ottilie’,” Kessler said. “And she was like, ‘What?’ No one could remember it and no one could pronounce it. I was like, ‘If you say it with a British accent, it sounds really good!’ And people said, ‘But you’re from Maryland.'”

“Anytime anyone said her name, I kind of cringed. Introducing her made me sweat. And I thought, we’re going to keep having to introduce her! This is going to be a problem forever,” said Kessler, who knew the name wasn’t going to work six weeks later when her own grandmother couldn’t remember the name. “She said, ‘I don’t know how to say her name. I have Post-its all over the house so I can remind myself,'” Kessler said. “And I was like, f—. We’re f—ed. We’re totally f—ed.”

After three months, Kessler couldn’t take it anymore, and brought up the topic with her husband, who was extremely relieved that his wife was having the same second thoughts. “Then we were like, ‘This is so exciting, we can rename her!'” she said. “All we did was talk about names. Is she this? Is she that? I felt like she was anything simple that wouldn’t give me anxiety.”

Ultimately, with the family’s approval, Kessler and her husband renamed their little girl ‘Margot’ and they haven’t looked back since. “We sent out a mass email. It was like, ‘Hey! Remember Ottilie? Her name’s Margot now,” Kessler said. “I honestly take her out now so people can ask her what her name is and I can tell them it’s Margot. It’s a great thing. It’s really taken a lot of stress out of my life.”

5 Fun First Day Of School Traditions To Get Your Kid Excited About School

After a few blissful months without homework and tests, the first day back to school can feel like a jail sentence for kids, who have gotten used to spending their days playing outside with friends all day.

However, adopting a few first-day-of-school traditions can help give your child something positive and fun to think about and look forward to instead focusing on all the things that they won’t be able to fo anymore.

Take a look at 5 awesome first day of school traditions to start this year off right:

5. Pack An Extra-Special Lunch: While packing a Martha Stewart-approved lunch every single day would be nearly impossible for most busy parents, make it a tradition to go all-out on their first-day lunch that includes their favorite foods and snacks and an extra-special note inside to make them feel even more loved.

4.  Take A First-Day Picture: Every year, take a picture of your little one once their dressed and ready for their first day, and have them hold up a sign with their new grade and the date. This popular tradition helps boost kids’ confidence on a stressful day, and is the perfect memento for parents.

3. Surprise Them With An After-School Sweet Treat: Getting through the first day can be tough for kids, so keep a surprise treat waiting for them at home that they can enjoy once they get home. And when next year rolls around, they’ll remember what’s waiting at home once they get through the school day.

2. Write Sidewalk Chalk Messages: For many kids, the first day of school can cause a lot of anxiety. To help boost their confidence and make school a positive experience, go out while they sleep and write positive messages on the sidewalk and the driveway that they will read as they leave for school.

1. Enlist The Backpack Fairy’s Help: Like the tooth fairy, the ‘backpack fairy’ will help your kids start out the school year with some magic and excitement. After helping them pack their bag the night before school, have them leave their bag out so the backpack fairy can leave her gifts, which can be anything like a new lunchbox, pretty new hair bows, or new art supplies.

What fun back to school traditions do you do with your kids? Let us know in the comments below, and please SHARE this with other parents on Facebook.

It’s no secret that many unfit couples will stick together for their kids, which usually just makes things worse off in the long run.

No matter what a couple’s reasons are for deciding to divorce, the split is almost always most difficult on their children. That’s exactly why writer Margaret E. Jacobsen and her now ex-husband decided that they owed it to their two kids to be honest with them about calling it quits… just as they had done with each other.

In a touching and wholehearted essay, Jacobsen explains that her 5-year-old daughter didn’t understand the concept of her parents’ split, so she explained it to her. “‘Why are you getting divorced? I know you still love each other.’ So I told her the truth,” she wrote.

“I’d rather be upfront with my kids now. I don’t want them to believe a lie. When her dad and I got married, I made a promise to him. I promised to be to be true and to be faithful, but I didn’t do that. I’d betrayed his trust.”

While getting divorced is no simple task, explaining it to others, especially your children, can feel like a daunting task, but this brave mom’s honesty made all the difference.

Check out her story from Romper below and let us know what you think in the comments:

On the night that my ex-husband and I decided to tell our children we were getting a divorce, we planned to do it during a family ritual: bath time. We didn’t want to sit the kids down on the couch and make the announcement into something intimidating or overwhelming. They were 5 and 4 at the time, and we we’re giving both of them a shower, which was something we did together as a family a few times a week. As I combed through my daughter’s hair and my ex-husband wrapped our son in a towel, we told them that “mom and dad were going to stop living together” and that we were going to “stop being married.” My son, who was 4, just looked at us and said “OK,” but my daughter slid down into a corner and covered her face. I felt like my heart was actually breaking from inside my chest as I watched her take deep breaths to calm herself. I remember Riley’s words so clearly: “I thought Beck and I would be the kids whose parents stayed together forever. I didn’t want to be those kids with two different houses.” Now we were going to be that family.

I looked at my ex-husband and we both struggled to find the right words to comfort our oldest daughter. She’s the child who takes care of each of us and loves so widely and so deeply. But as quickly as her words took the breath from us, she added, “But I want you both to be happy, because I love you.” As much as I’d love to say it’s a testament to our parenting, I know that Riley’s heart is all hers.

We told our children about how I was dating a new person, someone they knew, and that made them kind of excited. We ended the conversation with hugs and told the children they could ask us about the divorce if they wanted. From there, we continued with life as if things never really changed. My daughter struggled to talk about it with us. She told me once that she was nervous she’d hurt our feelings if she talked about her own feelings surrounding the divorce. So I found her a therapist. I didn’t think it would be fair for a 5 year old to hold in her feelings as her whole world was flipped upside down.

Reposting this cause I keep getting those garbage comments on my pictures 😂🙄😭✨ #rileynbeck

I didn’t move out of the house for about five months, and during the time I’d talk casually about the move, and about what I’d miss about sharing a house with their dad to my kids. I didn’t want to push the conversation on the kids, but I also wanted to create the space for them to dialogue with me. I wanted to give them time to process at whatever speed they needed.

After we’d told the kids about the divorce and before I moved out, I took my daughter to a hotel for a weekend to just talk and be alone. We swam for hours, and ate in fancy dresses in our bed. I wanted to talk to her about the divorce, but for the most part my daughter had kept her feelings to herself out of fear of disappointing me and her dad. One morning, as we laid in bed eating a late brunch, she looked at me and asked me, “Why are you getting divorced? I know you still love each other.” So I told her the truth.

I know the truth is heavy for a 5 year old, but I’d rather be upfront with my kids now. I don’t want them to believe a lie.
When her dad and I got married, I made a promise to him. I promised to be to be true and to be faithful, but I didn’t do that. I’d betrayed his trust. I let her know that we tried to work on it, and that her father was more than loving and kind to me, but that I couldn’t do it anymore. She thought about it for a minute, and said, “OK, thanks for telling me. I love you. Can we go swimming again?” I sort of breathed a sigh of relief. I was nervous to tell her the truth. I worried that she’d judge me, but I’m glad I told her the truth. I know the truth is heavy for a 5 year old, but I’d rather be upfront with my kids now. I don’t want them to believe a lie.

When we went home, I told my ex-husband that I’d told her, and he said that was OK. I told my son at a different time, later, when he was a little older. Even though he mostly understood what was happening, he still asks me why I don’t spend the night at dad’s house anymore. When I’m in the same place with his dad, which is often, he gets excited and says, “Kiss! Give each other a hug!” And though we have no problem hugging, I try to remind our son that we aren’t married anymore. He’s always just like, “Yeah, I know, but you still love each other.” This is true. I don’t enjoy lying to my children. I’ve barely told them about Santa Claus and the Tooth Fairy. I grew up with parents who tried to “protect” me from so much, because they assumed that as a child, I wouldn’t be able to process or come to my own conclusions. As a parent now, I disagree with this. My children are beyond capable. I don’t think I have to talk to them the same way I talk to other adults of course, but I don’t need to water everything down simply because they’re younger.

Family forever and always ✨

We talk to them both about their other parent honestly, using lots of love as the foundation for how we broach these topics.
My ex and I were separated for almost two years before we officially got divorced. We’ve continued family meals, love co-parenting together, and we celebrate the holidays together. I moved seven minutes away from our family home. The kids still spend half the week with me, and half with their dad, with a lot of overlapping. As they kids have gotten older, our conversations around our divorce have also changed. They ask a few more questions, and I go into depth even more when giving them answers. We talk to them both about their other parent honestly, using lots of love as the foundation for how we broach these topics.

We talk about what we appreciate about each other, and about why we had to go our separate ways. It’s not as heavy conversation as it used to be, like it was the first time. It’s lighter now. The kids are used to their parents being separated. It’s become a part of their everyday lives. Now my daughter can talk about the pros of having two homes, and my son has separated his “stuffies” for each of his beds. They call their dad to invite him over to my house on weekends, and when they’re going out to eat with their dad, I’ll get a call asking if I can join. I’m grateful that as a family we can talk so openly with each other about the realities of love and relationships. My ex and I always talked about showing our kids an example of how love endures even in separating. And I think we’re all think doing a good job of living this reality out.

Mom Claims Looking Through Her Daughter’s Phone Saved Her Life

Is it okay for parents to look through their child’s phone?

This is a complex question that may not have one easy answer, but after it recently appeared on Quora, the user-fueled question and answer network, one mom’s surprising response had others cheering.

If you’re the parent of a child with a cell phone, especially an older one, you can probably attest that snooping through their phone or any means of personal space will usually cause a lot more problems than it’s worth, but pharmacist Lara Estep, discovered that doing so could have likely saved her daughter from a predator she never saw coming:

In the following story published on Quora, Estep explains why she made the decision and encourages other parents to trust their instincts:

My youngest children are now in their last years of high school and I would never look through their phones at this point, but when they were younger I always reserved the right to go through phones and Facebook accounts if I suspected they were in an unsafe situation. I only exercised this right once, and I can truly say that I will always be grateful that I did. I am certain that what I found on my daughter’s Facebook messenger and phone that day several years ago saved her from harm.

We were relatively new in the neighborhood so I wasn’t familiar with the neighborhood children or their families. I was still figuring out who her friends were. After a few months, something just didn’t feel right with my daughter and her friends. But I couldn’t quite put my finger on it.

[Quora]
[Quora]
I talked to my ex about it and told him I was thinking of going through her phone and Facebook account (when they were younger I made them give me their passwords to all accounts just in case. I only used them this one time). He was adamantly opposed to my plan. He talked about her privacy and her rights and all of the standard moral and ethical considerations. I agreed with everything he said, but still, something just didn’t feel right.

Finally, one day I decided that I would rather have my daughter hate me for the rest of her long life than spare myself her anger and possibly allow her to go down a dangerous path and end up harmed or even dead. I think she was thirteen.

She had fallen asleep one Saturday afternoon with her phone tucked in her arms. I managed to get the phone and what I found sent chills through my body.

I will shorten this and tell you what I found: a chain of Facebook messages and texts from the father of one of her school friends. The friend was a boy. The messages told her how her mother was too strict. That she should go spend the night at his house and he would lie for her. He told her he would bring her cookies, McDonald’s, or whatever she wanted but she would need to sneak out of the house and meet him at the end of the street at night or during lunchtime at school. The messages came at all hours of the day and night. Sometimes early in the morning to wish her a good day at school. This was a forty-something year old man who I had never met! Texting my daughter! He was clearly grooming her for some bigger plan. It was all I could do not to drive straight to his house and do to him whatever an enraged mama bear does to anyone who threatens her children’s safety. It took a lot of convincing to keep her dad from doing something stupid as well.

In the end, I scheduled a meeting with the principal of her school the following Monday. After showing him what I had found he had no words. He said in all of his years he had never seen anything like it. I called the police and made a report, but they couldn’t do anything because he hadn’t yet harmed her. I alerted all of the other parents (most of whom didn’t seem to care much, sadly). The hardest part of all was telling her she was no longer allowed to see any of those friends.

She hated me for a few months. She told me I ruined her life and would barely speak to me. But I knew in my heart what she couldn’t know. I knew I had saved her from a predator.

[Facebook]
[Facebook]
She soon made new friends and I wasted no time in learning about their families. She is a happy, well-adjusted, intelligent, ambitious, charming, carefree young lady, unscathed by the intentions of a predator, all because I did the unthinkable, I tossed aside her right to privacy and looked through her phone. I will never regret doing it. And I don’t suggest doing it on a whim. As I stated previously, I had always had their passwords to any account but had never used them. It was my safety net for the “just in case” situation.

My point is that sometimes we, as parents, need to trust our instincts and do what is best for our children despite what anyone might say. I shudder to think where she would be today if I had listened to her well-intentioned father and not invaded her privacy. Best case scenario we would be in counseling for sexually abused children. Worst case, she would be dead.

I expect some judgement, but guess what? I am perfectly fine with that! My daughter still doesn’t understand what happened, and for that good fortune I will trade any judgement that comes my way.

With so much hatred, heartbreak, and negativity flooding the news, it can always help to take a little break and look at all the good surrounding our world.

As you can see in this sweet story about police officers stopping to play with a young homeless girl, cops are far from the “bad guys” they work so hard to stop and that the media makes them out to be. The following story from the Rome Police Department, posted to Facebook on Questura di Roma, proves this once again, after four police officers arrived to what they thought would be a grisly scene.

Neighbors called police on 84-year-old Jole and her 94-year-old husband Michele after hearing cries from their tiny apartment. When police arrived, they expected to find a family in the midst of a domestic disturbance, but instead found the older couple watching TV.

“There is not a crime. Jole and Michele are not victims of scams and no thief entered the house — there is no one to save,” the police force wrote on Facebook.

The elderly couple explained that they were unaware they were so loud and had started crying because of all the terrible things they had just seen on the news.

The officers were shocked, especially when they said they had been together about 70 years, they hadn’t had a visitor in ages. That’s when one of the kind-hearted cops noticed the lack of food in their apartment and decided to cook pasta with butter for them until an ambulance came to check in on them, while the other three kept them company.

The couple said that loneliness was awful some days and all they had was the TV to keep them company… but sadly, that has let them down, too.

Some things in life simply can’t wait one more minute…or should I say some people.

In the case of Jessica Stubbins it was her child who couldn’t wait one more minute to be born. The infant was born not only in the hospital entryway, she also came while her husband was parking the car.

And I thought my Mom got impatient when my Dad parks too far away…

[Good Morning America]
[Good Morning Britain]
Stubbins said her baby came earlier than expected. When driving to the hospital, Stubbins told her husband he better drop her off at the door while he goes to park the car. She knew what was coming but she didn’t realize how quickly.

[Good Morning America]
[Good Morning Britain]
Stubbins barely made it through the first door when she found herself delivery her child, Lucy at the second, right in the entryway to the hospital.

Her husband then comes running into the hospital, screaming “I’m sorry” the whole time. He later said on Good Morning Britain that he felt guilty missing the birth of his second child because he was busy parking the car.

We have a feeling she’s going to forgive him though.

Take a look at the incredible footage below and don’t forget to please SHARE with friends and family on Facebook.

Baby Girl Is Nearly Abducted By Another Patient In The Hospital

Hospitals are supposed to be the one place parents don’t have to worry about the safety of their children since a majority of the staff has taken an oath not to harm their patients in any way.

Which is why one exhausted mom thought it would be fine to rest for a little while after her baby girl finally went to sleep after being admitted to the hospital and undergoing hours of exams, bloodwork, and other tests. However, when she woke up an hour later to check on her little girl, baby Lorelai was gone.

Mom Lory Snyder frantically searched for her daughter, and ultimately found her in the arms of another patient along with six or seven nurses who were all laughing and playing with Lorelai. “I proceed to take Lorelai out of her arms. Even though she persisted that I return to my room, without Lorelai, she stated repeatedly that I needed to just go rest. I told her, no that I was fine and I would be taking my daughter back now,” Snyder said.

“I removed Lorelai from her arms, and the nurses who had been standing around gathered up her things, because along with taking Lorelai she also took my diaper bag( which had been emptied around her room), iv pole, and crib Lorelai was in sleeping in,” Snyder wrote in a post to Facebook after the terrifying incident.

The nurses insisted that her daughter was safe with the patient, who has been identified as Ms. Harris, but Snyder and her daughter were placed in a secure room in the ICU unit aft Harris followed them back to the room and insisted on taking back Lorelai.

“While I honestly don’t know if Ms. Harris intentions were noble, since she claims to of just been trying to care for Lorelai. I don’t know what she herself was ill with, something that could make my daughter sick. I don’t know anything! I don’t know what her actual intent with my child was. What she did with her. Or even how long she actually had her.”

“That hospital’s responsibility is to care for their patients and make sure that they are safe and they are well, and that doesn’t seem to be what’s going on,” Snyder said. “You do not enter a room and take a child that does not belong to you, especially from a person you don’t know. I want some answers, and I don’t feel like I’m getting them from that hospital.”

“I don’t want anyone else to go through what I did,” Snyder said.

There’s nothing more heartbreaking for a parent than having to explain to their young child that they can’t afford whatever it is that they want, which is the situation one mom found herself in while shopping for clothes with her daughter.

Lynnette Eastham Hostetter had been out with her daughter Justine shopping for clothes for her first day of school. Together, they picked out a bunch of dresses and went to try them on, however, Justine fell in love with the dresses and asked if they could get them all. Lynnette was crushed to have to explain to her daughter that she couldn’t afford all of them.

Lynnette wanted nothing more than to buy the dresses for her daughter, and was crushed to have to explain that she couldn’t afford all of them.

“Justine was trying on school clothes when a beautiful stranger overheard our conversation in the dressing room about finances being tight,” Lynnette wrote in a post to her Facebook page.

The stranger, who introduced herself as Becca, stopped Lynnette and Justine as they were leaving the fitting rooms. “(She) came to me and asked if it would be ok if she bought her ALL the dresses that my daughter had tried on,” Lynnette said. “I accepted, we hugged and cried and blessed each other!”

Breastfeeding Mom Squirts Breast Milk At Woman Who Publicly Shamed Her

Breastfeeding moms are unfortunately used to strangers making rude comments, shaming them, and even asking them to find a private place to nurse, however, one nursing mom was stunned when a fellow mom harrassed her for breastfeeding in public.

One Dartford, England mom had been sitting in the park earlier this week with her baby, and didn’t think twice about breastfeeding her child who started getting hungry in the park, which in England is perfectly legal thanks to new laws that say breastfeeding moms can’t be discriminated against in public by being asked to leave cafes, shops or public transport.

Yet when a fellow mom, who was visiting the park with her child and ‘very easily distracted husband’, saw the woman breastfeeding her baby, she was disgusted and asked the stranger to go somewhere private to nurse.

The breastfeeding mom was understandably furious that another mom would say that to her, and rather than get in an argument, she simply squirted the woman in the face with her breastmilk.

“To the lady in Dartford park who thought it was appropriate to breastfeed her baby whist my child and very easily distracted husband sat nearby,” the woman wrote in a local Facebook gossip page. “I don’t think it was necessary for you to react the way you did just because I asked you to go somewhere private, telling me to f*** off and squirting me with your boobs was incredibly uncalled for. I hope you are ashamed of yourself!”

The woman expected everyone to take her side, but commenters were quick to criticize the woman for harassing a nursing mom. “I hope you’re ashamed of yourself,” one commenter wrote. “Her reaction may not have been the right way to deal with your ignorance, but she has every right to feed her child there, if it offended you that much why didn’t you move?”
