Bride Faces Criticism After Dragging Newborn Down The Aisle On The Train Of Her Dress

They say your wedding day is the most important day of a woman’s life, and the most important part of that day is obviously the dress.

With so many styles, hues of white, and ways to wear it, there are a hundred variations of wedding dress style but one bride received quite a bit of flack back in May 2014 with how she chose to go down the aisle.

Couple Shona and Johnathan had a child shortly before the big day and the new Mom had decided she wanted her newborn accompanying her down the aisle.

However, the way in which she chose to carry the little one down the aisle let more than a few eyebrows raised.

Rather than carrying the child in her arms or having a bridesmaid carry the child, she decided it would be unique to have the child safely secured to the back of her dress and trail her down the aisle riding on the train of her dress.

[Facebook]
[Facebook]
It may come as little surprise that the bride quickly went viral and hundreds of thousands of people decided to put in their two cents on this subject. Some ridiculed her and said it was unsafe while others said her priorities are a little out of whack.

Some, however, said it was perfectly fine and as long as the child is safe, it’s up to the parents to choose how they’d like to conduct their wedding.

Take a look at the video below and please tell us your thoughts in the comments. Is this a clever and funny way to include your child in the ceremony or did this couple go too far?

And don’t forget to please SHARE with friends and family.

San Francisco Man Says Cop Threatened To Kill In Front Of His 7-Year-Old Daughter

A San Francisco man has been sharing a harrowing story of what happened when he was traveling through Arizona with his 7-year-old daughter and a cop threatened to kill him right in front of her.

He says he and his daughter are from San Francisco. They were traveling through the Southwest in a rental car when an Arizona cop started tailing them. After a few miles, the cop pulled them over.

[Facebook]
[Facebook]
“I hadn’t been speeding, so I wondered if perhaps the car had a broken taillight or something. I rolled down my window and waited,” Ken Walton says in his Facebook post.

However, when the cop approached the car, it was a less than friendly encounter. Walton says the officer start rapping forcefully on the rear passenger window with a pistol pulled only inches from his daughter’s face.

[Facebook]
[Facebook]

“My daughter rolled down her window and I explained that we were in a rental car, that we had no weapons, and I was having trouble figuring out how to roll down the front passenger window from my driver’s side door.”

[Facebook]
[Facebook]
However, the officer wasn’t listening. Instead, he was demanding they comply and Walton keep his hands in the air. Walton got out of the car, trying to keep calm amidst the confusion.

Walton writes, “then, as I had my hands in the air, he yelled, at the top of his lungs, in a voice I will never forget, as my daughter looked on in terror, ‘Get your hands away from your waist or I’ll blow two holes through your back right now!’ “

The officer proceeded to arrest Walton and put him in the back of the cop car before clarification finally came. “Why was I arrested?” Walton writes. “The car I was had rented had previously had its front license plate lost or stolen, so the car rental company reported this to the Nevada DMV. The Arizona highway patrol officer, who looked up my plate number while he was tailing me, misinterpreted this Nevada DMV report as meaning that I was driving a car with a stolen license plate, and somehow this prompted him to approach me at gunpoint and threaten to kill me in front of my little girl.”

[Facebook]
After being put in the back of the cop car and realizing the car was a rental, Walton was cleared and the confusion was taken care of. However, Walton remains very shaken up as a result of this experience.

You can read Walton’s own words below.

If you have a thought, opinion, or suggestion for how this should have been handled, please tell us in the comments. And don’t forget to SHARE with friends and family!

As women, there is no denying that our bodies – and our minds – are put through a lot more torture than most men. So why is it that some people still feel the need to shame us?

Much like this absurd story about a mom shamed by the Boy Scouts of America for discreetly breastfeeding her child during her son’s meeting, one woman was outraged when she came across a very disturbing sign about the female body.

While visiting the Vake Swimming Pool And Fitness Club in Tbilisi, Georgia, Sophie Tabatadze came across the offensive sign, banning women from swimming on their periods and took a photo to share online.

“Do you even realize how offensive this is?” Tabatadze wrote on Facebook. “And, by the way, since according to your rules we are not allowed to use a swimming pool 5-6 days each month, do we get a preferential price compared with men? ‪#‎mysogyny‬ ‪#‎mysogynyinaction‬.”

“Our statement is not sexist and has a preventive objective,” the club wrote in response to Tabatadze, according to SELF. “We had a case, when the water was contaminated due to which we had suffered damage. We try to follow norms of hygiene and we ask our members to do the same.”

A Vake staffer also told BuzzFeed News, “We have had some incidents about this where, I’m sorry that I have to mention, I have found tampons on the surface of the pool.”

However, most commenters sided with Tabatdze, and were outraged by the sign. What do you think of this absurd story?

Telling your child they’re going to be a big brother or sister can be one of the most exciting things they will ever hear in their lifetime, but every parent knows that this can also be a very delicate subject.

While some kids will react with pure joy, others might be a little bit upset, like this hilarious kid was, about no longer being the only little prince or princess of the house, or being a middle child.

Luckily for Geraldo Nazario, his son Gui reacted in the sweetest way when he revealed to him via a sonogram photo that he wasn’t just going to be a big brother once, but twice.

“Pure emotion, the true purity, sincerity and faithful love the child feels,” Nazario wrote on YouTube, of the moment little Gui realized he is going to be the older sibling to twins.

The boy’s emotional and touching response is guaranteed to be your feel-good video of the day. Enjoy!

There’s nothing worse that a parent will experience than losing a child, no matter how old or how young.

Yet there is only one thing that often makes the loss harder to deal with and that’s knowing that it could’ve easily been prevented, or that their child died as a direct result from someone else’s wrongdoing.

While you can never truly blame another person when someone takes their own life, it’s impossible for grieving father Daniel Fitzpatrick not to feel so much hate after his son’s bullies pushed him to his death.

The Brooklyn, New York dad was overcome with emotion and decided to share his thoughts on Facebook in a heartbreaking video.

[NY Daily News]
[NY Daily News]
“I laughed and cried the day that he was born at the same time, as crazy as it sounds, it’s true,” a tearful Daniel Fitzpatrick said in the video below. “And now I have to say goodbye to him out of this world. I won’t be laughing, I will be crying.”

Daniel Fitzpatrick’s 13-year-old son, who had the same name, tragically took his own life after penning a heartbreaking note about being the victim of bullying and accusing his school of not taking any actions to stop it.

[NY Daily News]
[NY Daily News]
“I hope the memory of what you’ve done to my son is burning in your brain for the rest of your life and you suffer as much as he has suffered under your bullshit,” Fitzpatrick said in the video to his son’s bullies, before addressing their parents.

“I hope you never, never have to feel what my family is going through right now,” he said. “You get to hold your children every night and day for the rest of your lives and their natural lives. I don’t get that anymore. Your little monsters took that from me and my wife and his sisters.”

When local resident Eric Stewart found a paralyzed penguin on a beach in South Africa, he saw himself in the bird.

Stewart himself had to learn how to walk again after he suffered from a stroke a few years ago, so he had empathy for the injured penguin.

“The bird was in a very tame state upon arrival here at the center,” Nada Manengela, marketing and fundraising coordinator for Sanccob, told The Dodo. “No one knew why the penguin became paralyzed,” Manengela said, “but rescuers suspect that he sustained head trauma.”

“I got tears in my eyes when I saw the penguin for the first time and I wanted to do something to help,” Stewart told News 24.

Stewart took the penguin into his home and decided to build him a tiny walker to help him walk again. After a month in the walker, as well as swimming lessons three times a day, the penguin learned how to waddle again on his own.

“He continues to live a very good quality of life in our home pen,” Manengela said.

Finding out the gender of an unborn baby can be an extremely emotional and overwhelming moment for first-time parents, which is why one pregnant woman’s mom promised to come along to her 20-week appointment.

Expecting mom Taylor Masilotti was both nervous and excited to find out her unborn baby’s gender, but was even more excited that she would be able to share the special moment with her mom Donna Callender, who was battling stage 4 brain and lung cancer.

However, as the weeks passed, Donna was getting weaker and weaker and it soon became clear that she was too weak to get to the appointment. Instead of risking waiting another week, Taylor convinced her doctor and the hospital to let the appointment come to her mom in the hospital.

While the mother and daughter lie together in a hospital bed, the doctor begins the ultrasound on Taylor’s 19-week belly, and starts pointing out the baby’s hands, eyes, and umbilical cord. Then finally, the doctor reveals that Taylor is going to be having a baby girl.

Three days later, however, Donna passed away and as devastated as Taylor is, she’s grateful her mother got to know she was going to be a grandmother to a little girl. “Wednesday afternoon was one of my forever favorite memories I got to share with my mom. I got to lay next to her, hold her hand and cry happy tears while we found out the gender of the baby,” Taylor wrote on her Facebook.

Homeless Dog Resists Being Rescued So She Can Protect Her Baby

Many homeless, abused, and abandoned dogs resist being rescued because they don’t trust that a stranger would actually help them instead of inflicting more harm to them.

Yet when rescuers tried to save a homeless dog they later named Petunia, they noticed she didn’t actually seem that scared of them. Petunia actually seemed to trust them, which is why the rescuers couldn’t understand why she was resisting them so much and trying to hide under a truck.

“I laid flat on my stomach and crawled under the truck,” said Eldad Hagar, founder of Hope for Paws. “Petunia wagged her tail nervously, but I knew we would be cool. At one moment this closeness made her nervous, and she got up to leave. That’s the moment when I grabbed her leg.”said Eldad Hagar, founder of Hope for Paws. “Petunia wagged her tail nervously, but I knew we would be cool. At one moment this closeness made her nervous, and she got up to leave. That’s the moment when I grabbed her leg.”

Hagar doesn’t normally like to grab dogs like that since it can make them more distressed, but he was afraid she’d run away again. However, the minute he held her in his arms and looked down at her belly, he realized why she had been resisting him. Petunia was lactating, which meant she was hiding a puppy somewhere nearby.

The rescuers got to work locating her baby, and quickly found her 3-day-old puppy they named Petals in a bush nearby, and the two instantly relaxed when they were reunited.

“Both Petunia and Petals are doing great,” Hagar said. “Little Petals hasn’t opened her eyes yet, but it should happen in the next few days. She is gaining weight and is quite happy to have her mom.”

Getting away for even a small amount of time can be pretty difficult when being a parent is your full-time job.

However, it’s also pretty important for hardworking parents to take some “me time”, whether it be a girls’ trip for Mom, a boy’s weekend away for Dad, or a couple’s retreat for both. As you can see in this viral story about a Mom who was criticized for giving away her baby on weekends, not everyone may like you taking some time off, but it’s guaranteed to help a parent’s mental health every now and then.

And let’s face it: who wouldn’t want to get away from home for a little while?! That’s exactly why Meghan Maza Oeser‘s hilarious letter to her husband before going away with friends for a weekend has gotten so much attention on Facebook. The Oak Forest, Illinois mom of 4’s honest and open note couldn’t be funnier… or more refreshing to other parents this summer.

“Dearest Husband, I’m writing this to you out of love, not fear. I wanted to go over a few things with you before you embark on this weekend alone…with the others,” Oeser wrote on Facebook. “Nighttime, daytime, breakfast time, and somewhere around lunchtime can easily be mistaken for pure HELL, with Satan coming off as a My Little Pony in comparison,” the mom hilariously warned her husband.

The mom didn’t hold back before her seemingly much-deserved weekend away, before giving her husband the best advice she could: to drink a lot of alcohol and coffee.

Although a bigger family can require a little extra work, there is no denying that being a parent to both a child AND a pet (or better yet, more than one each!) is a very rewarding experience.

If you grew up with a dog by your side, then you already know just how special it is to have a companion and best friend by your side. And luckily for parents, pets teach children about responsibility, compassion, loyalty, and much more.

However, when you’re little there is often one other bonus: you tend to get away with a lot more than the poor old pup does. In the following hilariously cute video from Rumble, we see Esther the English Bulldog and her best pal, baby Bean get approached by Mom when she finds them in the middle of a big mess.

“Bean the baby gets busted playing with toilet paper and for once, Esther the bulldog is found innocent! These two are adorably up to no good!” they wrote on Facebook, but you’ll have to see this kid’s ridiculous reaction all for yourself.

Are you cracking up at this adorable duo, too? Let us know in the comments and please SHARE this video with friends on Facebook today!

Women Are Burning Their Hair With Candles In Bizarre Beauty Treatment

A Brazilian beauty treatment called velaterapia is making its rounds in the beauty industry, but its shocking method for removing split ends has everyone gasping.

Popular Victoria’s Secret model Alessandra Ambrosia posted a photo to her Instagram making everyone curious about the new trend, as a hairdresser is shown burning her split ends off with a candle.

Credit: Instagram- alessandraambrosio
Credit: Instagram- alessandraambrosio

The idea behind velaterapia is that it burns off split ends and makes hair smooth and shiny.

One Brazilian spa even describes the treatment as “cauterize-[ing]” the hair. Laces and Hair Salon in Sao Paolo writes: “It is a process where a flame cauterizes the hair, leaving behind a passage of nutrients to its interior, removes split ends and the impermeability of the hair caused by brushing and other chemicals.”

The hair stylist first divides and twists the hair into small sections, and then they take a candle to the hair, carefully moving it up and down the twisted section.

Credit: media.mnn.com
Credit: media.mnn.com

The whole process takes between two to three hours and it can be done on any hair type. It’s most effective, however, for dry, damaged hair due to styling, and dying. According to the Daily Mail, velaterapia has been popular in South America since the 1960s, where women tried to do the dangerous treatment by themselves at home.

“While burning split ends might remove the split in the hair, you are also creating a potential vulnerability to the fiber itself, which results in weaker strands,” Elizabeth Cunnane-Phillips, a trichologist at the Philip Kingsley Clinic in NYC, told Refinery 29. “There are a lot more effective ways to remove split ends than to burn it off. I would say, don’t take the risk.”

In 1991, a 5-year-old boy was at a gorilla pit in an England zoo.

Intrigued by the animal, Levan Merritt leaned over the wall directly above the enclosure. And then, he leaned a little too far. Like Humpty Dumpty, the child had a great fall, one that could have been deadly and could have been met with more deadly results.

Merritt fell more than 20 feet and hit his head on the ground below, knocking him unconscious. At this point, the real horror began. A bystander happened to be near with a video camera.

The man captured the whole shocking story on camera, one that involved a huge 450-pound gorilla.

[Youtube]
[Youtube]
The solitary Silver Back Gorilla who was contained in the enclosure sauntered over for a closer look. The animal could have gotten aggressive or it could have become territorial. Instead, it was simply curious. The animal hovers over the child for a few moments and then walks away. When the boy regained consciousness, he was disoriented but alive and well.

At this point, a few heroes jumped into the enclosure to ensure all was fine, but the most shocking part of this story is how at ease the animal was.

12-Day-Old Baby Dies From This Common Virus

While adults come into contact with harmful bacteria and viruses every day, most of the time nothing happens. However, those same germs can be deadly to newborns whose immune systems are still so weak.

First-time parents John and Louise Wills had no idea how dangerous these simple germs could be to their newborn, and those concerns were at the back of their minds since their infant baby Eibhlin was so alert and healthy. “We were finally a family and the excitement and anticipation of this new bundle of joy started to set in as we began what we thought would be a normal journey as parents,” John said.“From the moment she came home she was such a little joy, so placid and relaxed and for the remainder of that week seemed to settle into her own routine quickly.”

Even when a nurse came to check on baby Eibhlin, she seemed perfectly healthy and strong, but two days later she started being a little difficult and wouldn’t eat. “However, with a little cuddling and rocking she did settle and by Monday morning she was back sleeping well,” John said.

“As the day went on it appeared she was a bit congested as if she had caught a cold. She was not distressed in any way but a bit more clingy,” John said. But when baby Eibhlin suddenly went limp and the color in her face went pale, they rushed her to the emergency room. “Within minutes a crash team was called and before we knew what was happening they were ‘working on her.'”

By 1:09 am, Eibhlin was pronounced dead just a week after being taken home, and doctors realized she had contracted the Herpes Simplex Virus 1 (HSV-1), known as the Cold Sore Virus which can cause organ failure in infants with no symptoms until it’s too late.

90 percent of the time, these infections are passed along by the mother, but Louise does not have the virus, and more tests showed that Eibhlin contracted the virus in the hospital where she was born. “Eibhlin contracted the virus postnatally and, although we may never know from whom or exactly when it happened, we know from tests that the virus was already in her system when she came home from the maternity hospital with us,” said John, who is now sharing his daughter’s story to warn other parents.

“In Eibhlin’s legacy we now want to ensure the general public is aware how lethal a cold sore can be to a newborn baby,” he said.

Did you know dangerous a cold sore could be to infants? Let us know what you think in the comments below, and please SHARE this with parents on Facebook.

Zookeepers often form incredible relationships with the animals that they care for, no matter how dangerous or vicious. And occasionally, those animals take these humans in as their own and treat them like family.

Eduardo Serio is a zookeeper at The Black Jaguar-White Tiger Foundation, and while most people would panic if surrounded by deadly big cats like lions, tigers, and leopards, Serio is completely at ease since he’s dedicated his life to caring for and bonding with these incredible animals.

One afternoon, Serio was spending some time with a group of lions in the Mexico City park, and as usual, he was being treated like a member of the pack. However, no matter how comfortable Serio is with these animals, they are still predators and could easily kill him.

In the video, Serio seems to forget about how much danger he’s putting himself in, and lets himself become distracted as he plays with one of the white lions. As he plays, Dharma the leopard can be seen stalking Serio and preparing to attack.

Incredibly, however, Aztlan the tiger has been watching the attack unfold, and as Dharma springs towards Serio, he pounces up and knocks Dharma out of the way to save their keeper.

Some viewers believe Dharma was only playing around, however, even his playing could be deadly to a human, which is why the zookeeper thanks Aztlan for defending him.

As many parents with more than one child quickly find out, kids don’t love sharing things with their siblings, especially when it comes to their favorite toys and stuffed animals.

So when Nick and Joanne Moser’s eight-year-old daughter complained that her 2-year-old little brother Kyle was sneaking into her room in the middle of the night and taking her things, they weren’t too concerned. But when it continued to happen every night, they suggested she lock her door to keep him out.

“My daughter came in one day and told us that he kept taking stuff out of her room and I said, ‘Well, lock your door. That will stop him,'” Joanne Moser said.

Joanne’s oldest followed her mom’s advice, yet it didn’t seem to work for long. “A couple of nights later, she came in and said he had broken into her door,” Joanne said. “We were pretty skeptical,” Moser said of the thought that their 2-year-old could figure out a way to break in. ‘But she said, ‘Yes, I’m sure.'”

Joanne and Nick decided to finally get to the bottom of who was taking their daughter’s things during the night, and set up a video camera in the hallway. The next morning when they reviewed the footage, they couldn’t believe it when they saw Kyle using a pair of nail clippers to pick the lock and take his favorite unicorn pillow pet.

“Kyle has always been one to fiddle things and try to see how things works,” Moser said. “We were impressed that he found the fingernail clippers in his room, flipped them open and used those to open the door.” But the next day, the couple sat down with their little boy and explained that he can’t be breaking into his sister’s room. “He said, ‘OK’, and went about his business,” Joanne said. “He hasn’t done it since.”

Six-year-old Eliza O’Neill of South Carolina was born a healthy little girl, but two years ago, her life, along with her entire family’s lives, changed dramatically.

Since being diagnosed with the rare degenerative disease Sanfilippo Syndrome, Type A, Eliza has spent more than the past 700 days in isolation in her home…and so has the rest of her family, in an effort to save her life.

The disease that is sometimes called Child’s Alzheimers has caused Eliza to lose the ability to do basic functions like sing her favorite song, recite the alphabet, and even tell her parents Glenn and Cara “I love you,” according to TODAY.

“It takes away the brain so very quickly,” Glenn O’Neill told ABC News, of the currently incurable disease. However, that hasn’t stopped Glenn for searching for one. The determined dad started a foundation and raised millions online to get his daughter experimental treatment.

According to ABC News, Eliza’s parents learned soon after her diagnosis that if she contracted a common childhood virus, she would be excluded from participating in one promising gene therapy trial. That’s when the family, including Eliza’s older brother Beckham, put themselves into quarantine in hopes of saving her.

“It’s all a very, very tough call to do it,” O’Neill said, explaining that the quarantine period was stretched further than first expected. “It went from 100 days to 300 days and 500 days,” O’Neill said of how his family spent holidays, birthdays, and the most beautiful days indoors. Then, this Spring, they finally got the callfrom Nationwide Children’s Hospital that the study would begin.

“After all this time and the difficulty of the journey, you just get paranoid,” said O’Neill. “I wanted to just cradle her for a week and hold her in my harms and hug her.”

“It wasn’t until she went into the room and was put under and the doctors came out of 30 minutes later” to say she had received the medication “that we were able to let down and cry and say this is happening,” O’Neill said. Now they hope to give back, by helping to raise more funds and draw attention to the rare condition, so other children can be helped.

Scammers Lead Woman To Believe Her Brother Was Injured In Attempt To Get Money

We live in an increasingly more connected world.

At the drop of a hat, we can speak with somebody halfway across the world and we always know what our neighbors are doing due to social media. While this connectivity has quite a few perks, there are also a number of drawbacks.

Take for instance, Richetta Vansickle of Ann Arbor Michigan. Vansickle received an alarming phone call last week that her brother had been in a serious accident. The call not only came from an unknown source, it also came from her own mother.

Her Mom, all the way from Atlanta, called and said her brother was involved in a hit-and-run. Vansickle’s mother had received a call too and both women were frantic about the situation.

When her phone rang again in her car, she answered it. She was already headed home when an angry man called and began yelling and screaming at her and calling her all kinds of names. Plus he had details of a crash.

“They were like it’s by the dry-cleaner,” she said. “Which, there is a dry-cleaner on Stadium. I don’t know if he was familiar with the area.”

But then this story gets weird. The person on the other end started asking for money. They said they had her brother and they wanted first $1,000 and then $1,200.

Vansickle suddenly remembered hearing reports of elaborate scams. She was concerned that maybe this wasn’t as real as she thought.

“I call him up and I’m like, ‘Where are you,’ he said ‘Sitting at my desk,’ and I said okay,” she said.

While Vansickle and the rest of her family were freaking out about her brother, he was sitting safe and sound at his desk. There was never an accident at all.

Vansickle called authorities and notified them of the scam and attempt to receive money from her, but because no money was lost, the police didn’t take a report.

Fortunately, this woman and her family are safe and unscammed. Unfortunately, these kinds of things happen all too often. If you or somebody you know has been scammed like this, please tell us your story in the comments.

And don’t forget to please SHARE with friends and family on Facebook
