Tow-Truck Driver Accidentally Kidnaps Child When Repossessing Car

Can you imagine running into the store for a few quick items and returning to find not just your car gone, but your baby missing too?

That’s what happened to one San Antonio man in January. The man left his child in the car while he ran into a store and upon returning minutes later, he discovered that car had not only been repossessed, but his baby had too.

[My San Antonio]
The tow truck driver didn’t realize there was a baby in the back and upon taking the car, he took the baby with him too. However, police are saying the tow truck driver is not responsible for this mix-up. Instead, they are citing the father for leaving his child in the back seat.

[My San Antonio]

“He had many items in the back, so he was unable to see, other than the items in the back seat, that there was a little baby in a car seat,”Sgt. William Rohn, with SAPD said.

Rohn said the baby was not hurt and the car was recovered intact, but this story is still an oddity. Was the father in the wrong for leaving the child unattended and should the tow-truck driver be held accountable?

Puppy Teaches Herself How To Hula Hoop In Adorable Viral Video

Have you ever seen a puppy hula-hoop?

It;s certainly not something you see everyday because there aren’t many pooches that can pull off such a feat. However, a video of a puppy named Meela is going viral after the pooch taught herself how to hula hoop.

[Mia Johnson via Youtube]
[Mia Johnson via Youtube]
You see, when you spin a hula hoop, it’s all about the flow and the motion. The trick isn’t to force the hoop to mold itself to your body, but to mold your body to the natural flow of the hoop. Meela has made this discovery early in life.

[Mia Johnson via Youtube]
[Mia Johnson via Youtube]

All it took was a little motion, some centrifugal force, and a really long nose and this dog had that hoop spinning in no time.

Once she got the rhythm of the hoop, the only thing left to do was keep it flowing. She managed to spin it around about 10 whole times, which is more than most can brag about.

Take a look at this adorable puppy and her cute hula hoop and please SHARE with friends and family on Facebook if this entertained you!

Mom Sends Out Warning After Finding Playground Covered In Peanut Butter

The playground is supposed to be a safe place where parents can bring their kids to play with friends and spend some time outdoors, which is why one Canadian mom was horrified when she saw what was smothered all over the entire playground.

Toronto mom Sarah Bolton decided to take her 2-year-ols son Lewis to Dufferin Grove Park last Wednesday morning, but when she got there she noticed something strange covering the play set. When she got closer, she realized someone had smeared peanut butter everywhere, which could be extremely dangerous for kids with nut allergies.

“It was everywhere. All over the hand railings… on the ladder, all over the swings, all over the slides.” Sarah said. “It’s just a really scary situation. It would have to take a sociopath to do something like this.”

To some, it might seem like a harmless prank, but to parents with kids with food allergies, it’s literally their nightmare.

Sarah immediately notified park officials, but also took to Facebook to warn other parents about the incident. “Allergy alert at Dufferin grove park! The whole park was covered in peanut butter this morning,” she wrote. “Just terrible!! It’s been cleaned off by now but if you have a little one with serious allergies, it could still be dangerous.”

Missing German Shepherd Found Doggy Paddling In Brooklyn Bay

When your canine companion runs off or disappears into thin air, it can be a terribly terrifying time for any pet parent.

But when you live in a big city or metropolitan area like Brooklyn, it can be even scarier, knowing that the places your dog could be are seemingly endless. When Brooklyn man Francisco Vasquez’ German Shepherd named Chase disappeared from his home this weekend, he was understandably terrified. “I was out looking for him for six or seven hours yesterday,” Vasquez told the Daily News.

“We’ve been to all the shelters looking for him,” he said. “We didn’t want him to suffer.” Vasquez looked all over town before the answer became obvious that his water-loving pooch must have jumped in Gravesend Bay for a swim.

The NYPD received several calls about a dog trying to keep his head above water.
When the NYPD Scuba Team showed up, Chase appeared to be in distress, Officer Brian Magoolaghan and NYPD spokesman told The Daily News. “This wasn’t a happy dog out there for a swim,” Magoolaghan said. “He was having some level of discomfort.”

“That’s his thing,” the 29-year-old dog lover said. “The last time we took him on vacation the same thing happened. We were in a cabin in Pennsylvania and he jumped from the deck and went into the lake.”

“We couldn’t find him. We were yelling out for him like crazy and there he was coming out of the lake,” Vasquez said. “He wants to get a swim in every once in a while. I just hope it doesn’t become a habit.

While most women wouldn’t dare want to share their special wedding day with anyone else, three sisters decided to walk down the aisle together.

Tagiane, Rafaela, and Rochele Bini are identical triplets who have a very special bond. Not only do these three sisters look exactly alike, they decided to get married all on the same day!

The triplet brides married their fiancés Rafael, Gabriel and Eduardo, on the same exact day, wearing the exact same wedding dress, as well as hair style and make up.

Rafael, who married Rafaela told Daily Mail, “There was a time when we were all in the kitchen making dinner. So Rochele, who is Gabriel’s, was doing stuff at the sink, and Rafaela was at the stove.”

“We were there chatting and they changed places. I went behind to hug her, and said “oops” when I realised I’d got the wrong girl.”

Escorted by their father Pedro one at a time down the aisle, the Bini sisters met their happy grooms. “We decided that we would all walk down the aisle until halfway down the church. From there, I would take one at a time,” Pedro told Daily Mail.

“Oh yes, I knew which one was mine, for sure. I knew as soon as she entered the church, she was the most beautiful,”  Tagiane’s husband, Eduardo, told Daily Mail.

Mom Saves Baby’s Life After Pushing Doctors For More Tests

For four months, one Illinois mom listened to her doctors who said that her newborn baby girl had chronic nasal congestion and a sinus infection, however, her gut was telling her something more serious was going on.

For the first four months of baby Macie Becker’s life, she suffered horrible congestion, often had trouble breathing, struggled to hold her own head up, and had a hard time eating from her bottle. Yet every time mom Becky Becker brought the issues up with her doctors, they said she was just congested. “She couldn’t breathe,” recalls Becky. “I had to run a shower every night to give her a night bottle.”

“Something in my mommy genes told me something was wrong with her and I just had to get to the bottom of it,” Becky said. “So at her 4-month check-up, I said ‘enough is enough. I want to go to an ENT (ear, nose, and throat) specialist.'”

“He says, ‘The good news is you don’t need me, bad news is, you’ve got to go straight to Cardinal Glennon,’” Becky said. “He says, ‘Your daughter has a lot of fluid on her brain.’ Your heart just sinks.” Once at the hospital, doctors realized that Macie had Vein of Galen malformation, which is a birth defect where arteries are directly connected with veins.

“It causes high pressure in the veins which usually have a very low pressure, and so everything that has to drain into the veins backs up, some of the fluids in the nose and so on,” explained Dr. Randall Edgell, an SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Neurologist. “And that’s what made her appear to have a stuffy nose.”

Doctors explained how babies born with this birth defect typically die within a couple hours of birth, which is why it’s so shocking that Macie survived over four months with it. For the next nine days, Macie underwent four life-saving surgeries that blocked blood flow to the malformation.

“I tell all my friends you go with your gut, just go,” said Becky, whose persistence likely saved her daughter’s life.

Family Dog Sacrificed Himself To Shield Baby In House Fire

After racing to the scene, firemen from the Baltimore City Fire Department braced for the worst as they prepared to rescue an 8-month-old baby girl who had been trapped on the second floor of her home after a fire broke out.

Just moments before, everything had been fine as usual, which is why mom Erika Poremski stepped out quickly as her baby girl napped in her room to get something from the car, which was right outside the house. However, during that short time, a fire suddenly broke out and kept Erika from getting back inside no matter how hard she tried.

“I just heard her crying and I couldn’t get to her,” Poremski said. “I tried really hard, everyone in the neighborhood tried. They were kicking the doors in and kicking the windows out. I couldn’t (get her out). Nobody could.”

“I tried to keep getting it,” Erika said. “She was up the stairs, but the fire smoke was so heavy I couldn’t get past it . . . I kept running back out and back in, trying to get up there. Then, the door curling started falling and I couldn’t get back in.” Erika had been so focused on saving Viviana and her dog polo who was also trapped inside that she didn’t even realize she was getting burned on her face and hands as skin melted off from trying to grab at the railing.

Finally, firemen from the Baltimore City Fire Department arrived, and rushed in to save Viviana, but they were stunned when they got to the second floor and found Polo lying on top of the baby shielding her from the flames. “She only had burns on her side because of it,” Poremski said. “He stayed with her the whole time in the bedroom and wouldn’t even come downstairs to get out the door.”

Incredibly, the firemen were able to revive Viviana at the scene, but sadly Polo didn’t make it out after sacrificing his own life to protect the baby. Thanks to Polo, Viviana only suffered burns to 18 percent of her body, and while she is in critical condition at the hospital, she most likely would have died in the fire without Polo.

Watch the entire video below to see the incredible way this little girl survived a horrific fire, and please visit the family’s GoFundMe page here if you would like to support Viviana’s care and help the family after losing everything they owned.

Volunteer Pilots Rescue Stranded Animals In Louisiana Flooding

Disaster always seems to strike when you least expect it and no matter how prepared you think you may be for devastating circumstances, a little help from others can go a very long way.

That’s exactly why when Theresa Ink learned of the deadly and dangerous flooding in Louisiana, she knew she couldn’t just sit aside and wait for someone to ask her for help. Ink is the founder of PAWS of Lee County in southwest Florida, an animal clinic that offers affordable spay and neutering, as well as finding pets forever homes.

For the past couple of years, Ink has been bringing dogs from St. Landry Parish Animal Control near Baton Rouge, Louisiana, to take some of the pressure off this overpopulated shelter to find the dogs homes.

“We’re going to have to help,” Ink decided and told TODAY. “I said I want to bring 50 dogs from Louisiana.” Although she had made up her mind, this hero also knew she couldn’t do it on her own and placed the request with Pilots N Paws, a nonprofit group of more than 5,000 volunteer pilots that transport roughly 15,000 shelter animals to places they will not be at risk for euthanization, according to executive director Kate Quinn.

[Pilots N Paws]
[Pilots N Paws]
“During a natural disaster, such as the flooding in Louisiana, our mission is compounded because not only are we providing lifesaving flights for homeless animals, but we’re also freeing up desperately needed space so that pets can have safe shelter while their owners work to rebuild their lives,” Quinn told TODAY. “Taking this concern off the minds of the victims of the flooding is the least we can do.”

About 30 dogs and cats were soon flown to Florida by Pilots N Paws, as well as another 60 plus pets who were driven for two days by Jim Dwyer, co-founder of the nonprofit It’s a Dog’s Life Rescue Transport Inc.

[Pilots N Paws]

“My mind and body was a little on the worn out side,” said Dwyer. “My heart and my spirit was feeling pretty darn good.”

The rescued animals have been placed at a number of shelters across Florida, including Gulf Coast Humane Society in Ft. Meyers, Florida, who took in 29 dogs and five cats. Pilots N Paws soon returned to fly back more animals, after they are popping up daily.

“It’s truly like watching a miracle,” said Stacey Alleman-McKnight, executive director of St. Landry Parish Animal Control. “They didn’t owe these animals anything. To think, there’s people out there that just want to do something good.”

Puppy Survives After Being Stung Over 400 Times By Bees

One Phoenix family must now deal with the consequences of having some pretty careless neighbors.

At 7th street and Thomas stands a vacant house that has become home to a hive of bees. The Denoyer family has been forced to live next door to this infested house, and recently, the bees have attacked their two dogs.

The family’s 17-week-old pit bull puppy named Tramp was stung hundreds of times by the bees, and their german shepherd Lady faces an uncertain future as she escaped their home trying to outrun the bees.

Jeremy Denoyer tells ABC Arizona that he was stung more than 20 times over his entire face and body trying to protect Tramp.

“It’s kind of like having a needle just poked into your body,” Jeremy describes. “And then somebody just rubs it around.”

“It would have been worth it because–I just in the end I don’t want them in pain,” he continued. Phoenix Fire crews told the family that the hive has been growing at the home next door for a while now, and something as simple as a bird flying by could have caused the flare up.

Kim Denoyer says that usually in the first day of being stung, they are gone, “So Tramp is pretty much a one in a million case.” While Tramp is still in recovery, the Denoyers’ neighbors have set up a GoFundMe account to help pay for Tramp’s climbing veterinary costs.

Now, the Denoyers’ concern is praying that Lady will come back home to them and that their irresponsible neighbors will finally fix their bee problem. “There is no way to fix it on our end, and it shouldn’t have to be our end because we don’t own the house,” a frustrated Kimberly said. Firefighters told the Denoyers that the owners of the vacant house will have to pay for the foam and eradication that need to be done, but can’t be done soon enough.

Every parent knows that taking a kid along while running errands is not exactly as easy as you first think.

From having little ones run off when you turn around to grab something to more terrifying, unforgettable, and life-changing moments, like when this mom learned the hard way not to leave kids alone in the car while it’s running, one thing stays the same: parents need to always be on alert for scary encounters.

Luckily for a tiny 1-year-old boy in Braintree, Massachusetts, his dad was paying full attention and was able to prevent an unthinkable situation. While at the South Shore India Market shopping with the boy, the father at first thought a worker at the store was being playful when he picked up the baby and threw him over his shoulder.

Yet it only took a matter of seconds for Dad to realize something far more sinister was going on and rushed to stop the would-be kidnapper. When the dad confronted the man, later identified as 47-year-old Stephen O’Brien, he handed over the son but was soon arrested and give a bail of $100,000.

Woman Finds Abandoned Puppies Tied Up In A Sack

While many dog lovers and owners treat puppies like their own child, unfortunately there are just as many people in this world that think it’s alright to abuse these innocent animals and cast them off like garbage.

This past Sunday morning, a Columbian woman was out feeding the chicken at her sister’s animal sanctuary, Juliana’s Animal Sanctuary, when she noticed a single tiny black puppy wandering around  the property. She immediately picked the pup up and brought him to sister Juliana Castañeda Turner.

Since puppies are usually born in large litters, Turner had a feeling there were other puppies in need, and went out to look for them if they were nearby. As they searched the property, they found a white sack in the middle of a field. And sure enough, the puppy’s three brothers and sisters were trapped inside.

The 5-week-old puppies had been left to die, and were all starving, dehydrated, and covered in fleas. “We rushed them to the vet and were happy to find they didn’t have parvo or anything debilitating, just weak from hunger and dehydration. We started them on typical puppy shots and flea and heartworm prevention. It’s just a shame some people could tear babies from their mother and toss them in a bag like garbage,” Juliana wrote to the sanctuary’s Facebook page.

“They have fear, [they’re] shaking all the time,” Juliana said. “You know I am upset, sad and in shock. But at the same time, even when I don’t have all the money that they need, I will try my best. I am very happy that they are here [and] safe.” Juliana is currently nursing the pups back to health and helping them learn to trust people again, and eventually hope to find good, loving homes for them.

Teacher Announces New No Homework Policy For The Year

For most kids, the hardest part of saying goodbye to summer and hello to the new school year is the mountain of homework they’ll have to face each and every night after spending eight long hours sitting in the classroom.

However, thanks to a new homework policy by teacher Brandy Young, the second-grade student from the Godley Elementary School in Texas don’t have anything to be worried about since she decided to scrap assigned homework all together for the entire year.

When mom Samantha Gallagher attended the ‘Meet the Teacher Night’ before the first day of school, Young announced that she would not be assigning any homework to her students for the entire year.

“Brooke is loving her new teacher already!” Samantha Gallagher said after explaining the new policy to her 7-year-old. “There will be no formally assigned homework this year,” Young explained in a letter. “Rather, I ask you spend your evenings doing things that are proven to correlate with student success. Eat dinner as a family, read together, play outside, and get your child to bed early.”

Since research has never been able to prove that more homework equates to better grades, Young decided to try out her new policy to give kids more time to be a kid again. “[Students] work hard all day. When they go home they have other things they need to learn there,” Young said. “I’m trying to develop their whole person; it’s not beneficial to go home and do pencil and paper work.”

“We’re happy that at the end of a long school day she’ll get to come home and unwind and be a kid… go outside to play, make new friends, spend more time as a family,” Gallagher said.

Mom Gives Birth To Second Largest Triplets EVER

Because of how much space twins, triplets, and other multiples take up in the womb, they often are born before the full nine months, and because they are premature, they typically weigh much less than typical single pregnancy babies.

When Knoxville, Tennessee mom-of-two Kate Tipton and her husband Caleb found out they were expecting triplets, they were stunned, but since the very beginning, doctors began preparing them for birth and warning that her babies would most likely be severely underweight.

“We had doctors telling us to prepare for the worst,” Kate said. “If they made it, they would be so small.” And as doctors had expected, Kate went into labor at just 34 weeks along, a month and a half before reaching full term.

Yet as the first baby came out, doctors couldn’t believe their eyes when they saw how huge he was. “We were shocked,” Kate said. “They weighed Jack twice. He was first. They thought, ‘That’s not right. He can’t weigh 7 pounds, 4 ounces as a triplet.’ There was so much noise and excitement and disbelief.”

“I’ve never seen triplets this big,” said Dr. Mark Hennessy, who has been an OBGYN for 25 years.

Despite being born six whole weeks early, the babies weren’t nearly as small as they should have been. Baby Jack weighed the most at 7 pounds, 4 ounces, but the smallest of the three still weighed an impressive 5 pounds, and together, the three weighed a staggering 19.6 pounds. “It was like I had a toddler in my tummy,” Kate said.

The Tiptons later reached out to the Guinness Book of World Records to see how their triplets stacked up against the world record, and were stunned to find out that their babies were the second heaviest triplets every born, just 2.4 pounds shy of the 22-pound world record.

Baby Left Disabled After Doctors Fail To Test For Jaundice

New parents are often extremely over-cautious and, at times, paranoid about their baby’s health as they should be, but unfortunately, many doctors brush off concerns of overly-protective parents since their chances of being right are extremely small.

After going through costly and emotionally draining rounds of IVF, 32-year-old Katie Lowe and Mark Griffin, 33, were thrilled when they got pregnant and eventually gave birth to baby Brian last December. However, a few hours after birth, the couple noticed something suddenly looked wrong with their otherwise perfectly healthy baby boy.

Baby Brian’s skin and the whites of his eyes started turning yellow, which are the typical signs that a baby has jaundice. Katie and Mark repeatedly pointed their son’s condition to hospital staff, but doctors instead assured the couple everything was totally normal and chose not to perform the $1 test to monitor the levels of toxins called bilirubin in his system.

13 days later, the levels of bilirubin were so high that they got into his brain, and left him in critical condition. “It was too late, in Brian’s case, before anyone realised how serious it was,” Brian said. “When he was admitted to hospital aged 13 days, it was obvious that there was something really wrong and that it was more than jaundice. The doctors sat us down and told we were told to prepare for the worst. They didn’t think he would make it through the night.”

Brian was given a double blood transfusion, and luckily made it through the night, however, he was tragically left severely disabled. Brian is now completely deaf, has impaired vision, will likely never be able to walk, cannot move voluntarily, and is unable to lift his own head.

“We want people to be aware that jaundice can be dangerous. I’m pretty sure that 60 per cent of babies show signs of it. Unfortunately for my son, they decided he didn’t need testing. People don’t realize it can kill and can also cause irreparable brain damage,” said Brian, who is now spreading their story to show parents how serious jaundice is.

“To be let down by something that is so easily managed and is 100 percent preventable is heartbreaking,” Brian said. “We have had to say goodbye to the son we were born with and try and embrace this new life as best we can. A seven-month-old should be able to sit up and put something in his mouth but he can’t. He can’t move his legs or lift his head.”

Mom Slams Daughter’s School After She’s Locked In A Room For Her Outfit

You might think our youth is in trouble, but the following story proves that some teachers and administrators have way more to improve than their young students do.

A mom from Huntsville, Alabama has voiced her outrage on Facebook after her daughter came home upset at the way she was treated for her seemingly normal outfit of black leggings and an oversized sweatshirt.

Grissom High School student Josephina Thompson said she and a friend were stopped before class started by a female security guard who brought her to the In-House Learning Center, an out-of-class detention room, for breaking the school’s strict dress code.

“They were told they could not go to class at all until somebody came to school and brought them appropriate clothing,” Deanna Wolf, Thompson’s mother told AL.com. Luckily, the other girl’s mother was able to bring them new clothing so they could return to class, but the damage had already been done. “If nobody had been available, she would have had to sit in that room all day and would not have been able to go to class,” said Wolf.

Wolf took to Facebook to explain that her daughter was wrongfully punished, as she followed dress code wearing leggings as long as they are covered by shorts, skirts or dresses that are no higher than three inches above the bend of the back of the knee, according to AL.com.

“I disagree with a lot of the dress code but I have told my children that we have to abide by rules, whether we agree with them or not,” Wolf wrote. “There’s a time and place for rebellion, but this isn’t it. My daughter has always been very careful and was abiding by the rules.”

However, the mother of three daughters said it’s wrong for the school to try and penalize girls for potentially “distracting” other students.

“It’s always been very important to me to raise my girls to understand their worth, to be proud of themselves and their bodies, to not be ashamed of anything,” she told AL.com. “Girls are not to be held responsible for the actions and reactions of other people… And to tell them they have to alter their own appearance so they don’t distract the opposite sex and take away from their education takes so much away from those girls.”

Josephina Thompson even created this flier and what she sees as an unfair gender bias in the school system’s dress code.  “I am proud of my daughter,” Wolf said. “She has always been a staunch believer in equal rights. Not that women are better, but that we’re all the same and nobody should be treated as better or less than anybody else.”

“It’s the cultural norm to shame girls and to hold them responsible for other peoples’ actions and thoughts,” she said. “I don’t think it’s going to change, but that’s not to say I won’t fight for change, because I will… The girls are standing up and making their voices heard, and it’s awesome.”

Just when you thought it was safe to head back into the water comes a video that might just scare you straight back out!

Even though sharks get a pretty bad rap in the animal kingdom, the truth is that a person is more likely to get killed by something as unexpected as a coconut falling from a tree over a shark attack. Yet, that hasn’t stopped us from being straight up terrified by the majestic beasts under the sea… or from being completely fascinated by them, either.

On a recent fishing trip, Captain Mark Martin caught a glimpse of a group of sharks doing something very rarely caught on camera. The fisherman, who runs San Diego Salt Water Fly Fishing, spotted a group of sharks out in the distance and hooked a large shortfin Mako, one of the fastest known shark species. Unbeknownst to many, the Mako is also capable of sometimes jumping up to 20 feet out of the water, according to Shark Insider.

“Words can’t describe what it is like to see Mako sharks of this size come out of the water like they do,” Mark Martin wrote in a Facebook that has since gone viral on his business’ page.

Pregnant Mom Develops Lymphedema Overnight

Pregnant women expect their bodies to change pretty dramatically during the nine months of pregnancy, however, most just expect the usual weight gain, stretch marks, and swollen feet.

Australian mom Sarah Buller, who now resides in France, became pregnant for the first time three years ago with her husband Bruce. For the first three months, the former model was feeling great and everything was progressing perfectly. However, at around the end of the first trimester, Buller went to bed one night as usual, but when she woke up her left leg was double the size of her other leg.

“It was like one day I went to bed with two normal legs and the next morning I woke up and had one huge leg in comparison,” Buller said. “I was so shocked but doctors did tests and nothing showed up so I guess we all just hoped the swelling would go down after I gave birth.”

Yet as her bump grew, her leg only got bigger and bigger, and it never went back down as doctors had hoped after she gave birth. Soon after the birth of her first child, doctors were finally able to diagnose Buller with primary lymphedema, an incurable condition where fluid builds up and causes swelling in the tissue because of a problem with the lymphatic system. “Instead of enjoying precious moments with my new baby girl, I was having to bandage my leg constantly to try and reduce the swelling.”

Then when Buller became pregnant for the second time, the condition only got worse, and she was then classified with stage two lymphedema. To help cope with the condition, Buller started her own blog, The Lymphosaurus Rex, but quickly realized how many people were suffering from the condition, and what other treatment options were available.

“I was fed up of feeling like an old woman and then I read about other people feeling down and realized that every person with this condition should still feel beautiful,” said Buller, who underwent Vascularised Lymph Node Transfer (VLNT) surgery last May where doctors take healthy lymph nodes from her armpits and put them in her leg, which will take a year to show results.

How would you react if this happened to you during pregnancy? Let us know what you think in the comments below, and please SHARE this with friends on Facebook.
