After recently taking up running again, one English woman started noticing a rash develop on her chest, and figured her sports bra, which didn’t fit well, was rubbing against her chest and causing the skin to chafe.

32-year-old Sarah Lang did everything to try and calm down the irritated skin, but when it refused to heal, she decided it was about time she went to the doctor. “At first, I just thought the mark was chafing. But it got to the point where the skin on my nipple would rip off whenever I removed my bra. It was really painful,” Lang explained. “Deep down, I knew I wasn’t OK I just had this gut feeling.”

At first, the doctor thought it was just a normal case of dermatitis, and prescribed her with cream, however, when that did nothing to help, the doctor took samples of her skin to biopsy at the follow-up appointment a week later.

A few days later, doctors delivered the awful news that the rash was actually a symptom of Paget’s disease of the nipple, a rare type of cancer that affects the skin of a nipple and causes an eczema-like rash.

Lang immediately underwent a partial mastectomy, but follow-up tests revealed she had three more aggressive tumors in her breasts. “It was a real shock. I’d had no lumps or anything to indicate they were there,” she said. Lang has since undergone a full mastectomy, and will be getting chemotherapy in the next few months.

“It’s amazing how much my priorities have changed in time, though. I’ve gone from freaking out about losing my nipple, to barely flinching about having a mastectomy,” Lang said. “The way I see it, if it’s a way forward to getting better, then I don’t have an option not to do it.”

4. Try To Make Them Understand How It Feels To Be Bullied: Many young children don’t fully understand how they’re making others feel when they intimidate or tease another. Making them understand what it’s like to be mistreated will help them understand why their behaviour is so unacceptable.

3. Praise Good Behavior: Whenever your child behaves well towards others, shows compassion or kindness, and has empathy for someone else, praise their behaviour and let them know how proud you are. This praise will only give them more incentive to behave well.

2. Peer Pressure: If your child is bullying others because of pressure from friends, encourage them to expand their friend group by planning play dates with other kids from their class, and introduce them to new activities where they will be surrounded by other kids their age who won’t influence them to bully others.

1. Take A Look In The Mirror: Kids often learn from and mimic the behaviour of adults around them. If your child is bullying others, reflect on your own interactions with friends, family, and strangers, and choose to be a perfect example of how to treat people by being even more sensitive, understanding, patient, and kind than normal.

When most people hold a newborn baby, their first instinct is to cuddle with them and drown them in kisses, however, one mom is warning new parents that it’s the very last thing you should ever let someone do to your baby.

Last August, U.K. mom Claire Henderson gave birth to her newborn daughter Brooke, and shortly after, friends and family stopped by the hospital to meet the new member of the family. However, during one of the visits, someone with a cold sore had kissed baby Brooke on her face near her lips, which was all it took for her to contract the common virus, which can be deadly for babies.

Shortly after being taken home from the hospital, Claire noticed an unusual rash developing on Brooke’s face, but thankfully the new mom rushed her baby girl to the hospital rather than taking chances. For the next three days, Brooke had to be kept on a drip and then spent another two days in the hospital for observation.

“COLD SORES CAN BE FATAL FOR A BABY,” the new mom wrote in a post to Facebook to warn others. “Before 3 months old a baby cannot fight the herpes virus. If a baby contracts this it can cause liver and brain damage and lead to death. I know this sounds like I am scaremongering but if my friend had not told me about this my baby girl could have been very seriously ill. I noticed the signs early.”

“The moral of the story is DO NOT let anyone kiss your newborn’s mouth, even if they don’t look like they have a cold sore- 85% of the population carry the virus. And if someone had a cold sore ask them to stay away until it has gone,” Claire said.

Thankfully, baby Brooke made a full recovery thanks to Claire’s quick action in getting her to the hospital.

When a photographer witnessed an incredibly powerful moment of a mom hugging her daughter before she went into labor for the third time, he knew he captured something truly special. 

If you have more than one child, you probably remember the moment you looked at your firstborn and knew the next time you see them, it won’t be just the two of you anymore. 

A Portland-based birth photographer Laura Paulescu was lucky enough to snap this incredible photo of a mom giving her daughter one last hug before she goes on to deliver her third child. Paulescu shared the photo to her Facebook page and wrote, “Pure sweetness. Last hugs before saying goodbye to momma & the last time she would sit on that big round belly with her sister still inside.” 

The photo has since gone viral and is capturing the hearts of moms and dads alike across the internet. 

A moment as powerful as this is one we’re sure this mom wishes she could freeze and hold onto forever. But with this photo, she will always remember how she felt just as that moment.

Photo Of Mom Clutching Her Daughter Before Her Next Baby Is Born Goes Viral is an article from: LifeDaily

Artists will go to extreme measures to create a unique masterpiece, and Israeli artist Sigalit Landau did just that with her latest project. 

Landau had the crazy idea of submerging a black gown in Israel’s Dead Sea, and every three months, she would return to see how the gown was holding up in the salt-rich waters. 

The project is an eight-part photo series called Salt Bride, and Landau got the idea after being inspired by her dead lover.

Landau’s salt-encrusted gown is a replica of the one worn in the dramatic 1920’s play Dybbuk. 

Landau lowered the gown into the Dead Sea in 2014, and she checked on it at various times during three-month intervals. 

Landau was able to capture the gradual process of salt crystallization, and her stunning gown is now on display at London’s Marlborough Contemporary until September 3rd.

Woman Leaves Dress In The Dead Sea For 2 Years And It Turns Into A Masterpiece is an article from: LifeDaily

Every once in a while, we come across a story that really makes us wish there were laws against certain people having children.

This is one that completely broke our hearts. Much like the little boy who made headlines after trying to sell his teddy bear to buy himself some food, people all across the country are outraged at the neglect of a tiny girl found in a horrific situation.

Matt Knight is a resident in the Nevada Lidgerwood area of Washington who has noticed that his neighbors across the street mistreat their young daughter.

While recently mowing his lawn, Knight noticed the toddler screaming outside her home, strapped to a metal gate with a bungee cord, and struggling to remove it from around her neck. This time, he said he wanted photographic proof that the little girl was in danger and snapped a photo that paints a heartbreaking picture of abuse.

According to local news site KHQ, a woman has come forward, claiming to be the little girl’s mother and explaining that she had simply become entangled in the bungee cord while playing. However, she offered no explanation as to why her baby girl was outside alone.

“I walked over there and the kid, like the photo you saw, was strapped or caught up in some of the bungee strap to the fence,” Knight says in the following video. “Because of the previous things that had happened there [at the house] I wanted some photo evidence versus a bunch of hearsay.”

KHQ reported that police have responded to the child’s home three times in just the past month, with the previous two times children were found unattended in the street.

The concerned neighbor hopes his photo and Spokane Police will help remove the child from the abusive home and get receive help from the WA Department of Health Services.

“When your kids go to college, do you miss them? Yes, but you reassure yourself that they are getting so much out of it,” Gosselin said. “And that’s the same sort of investment I feel like I’ve made Collin’s future.

Mom Records Hilarious Story About Teens Shopping At TJ Maxx is an article from: LifeDaily

While most college kids spend their time hanging out with friends, partying, and occasionally attending class, Jade Hughes spent hours each day curled up in pain and sprinting to the bathroom .

At first, doctors thought she was suffering from a stomach bug, but when her weight started to plummet and she began passing blood, they decided to perform a colonoscopy where they discovered she was suffering from a chronic bowel condition called ulcerative colitis.

For years, Jade tried managing her symptoms with medications, however, after they stopped helping and her weight dropped to 77 pounds, she decided something had to change. “I used to carry around a change of clothes, a bucket and wet wipes everywhere I went,” she said.

The now 23-year-old decided to have major surgery earlier this year, which removed her large intestines, and was fitted with an ileostomy or stoma, which is an external bag that collects waste until it can be emptied and changed. “The bag has given me my life back and one of the first things I wanted to do was to get a membership at my local leisure centre so I could start putting some weight on as I’d dropped to five and a half stone.”

Normally, Jade wears high waisted swim bottoms to cover the bag, however, was forced to wear a lower cut pair during a recent trip to the pool since all of her others were in the wash. “I was in the pool and this woman, who must’ve been in her 50s, came over to me and said ‘do you think that’s appropriate for the pool?’, pointing towards my bag. I think I was just stunned so I didn’t reply and then she said, ‘well you know that shouldn’t be on show in pool? It’s not very nice for young children to see’.”

“She then went off to get the lifeguard, who came over and told me, ‘I’m sorry I have to say something because we’ve had a complaint.’ But she was really nice and said ‘don’t take any notice and just go about your swim as you were’. I stayed in a little bit longer but it started to get really uncomfortable because the woman kept swimming past and tutting at me.”

“That lady has no idea what I’ve been through for the last seven years,” Jade said. “Luckily for me I love my bag and I love my body. It looks after me every day, it fights infection it keeps my heart racing and my blood pumping. So whatever anyone may think of me it will never affect me.”

Woman With Colostomy Bag Shamed For Wearing Bathing Suit is an article from: LifeDaily

Many expecting mothers who are forced to have a c-section delivery are crushed that they won’t get to have an active role in bringing their baby into the world, which is why one mom was determined to figure out a way to play a bigger role in her baby’s birth.

Typically, in normal c-section deliveries, the mother is often given anesthesia or even fully sedated before doctors make an incision in the abdomen and then uterus, and have to passively lie behind a curtain as doctors tug their newborns out through the incisions.

However, pregnant mom Jane Prichard, who had given birth to her first child through a traditional c-section, was determined to make this birth more personal and decided to deliver her son through a maternal-assisted caesarean, where she would pull her baby out of the incision on her own.

The Australian mom got help from Gold Coast based Dr. Dutt and when it came time for the delivery, he made the incisions, popped Baby Tex’s head and shoulders out, and let mom do the rest.

“The head was out, and top of the shoulders, and he [the obstetrician] said ‘Jane, it’s your turn now’,” Prichard said. “‘I put my hand under Tex’s arms and pulled, and Dr. Dutt was saying to be slow, do it slowly. I had to use a little bit of force, and I pulled him out slowly onto my chest.”

“I was crying well before they cut me open, it was very emotional,’ Prichard said. “I struggle to find the words in all honesty, I really do, it was just incredible. With this sort of delivery, I was able to get almost everything you get in a vaginal birth with a caesarean section.”

While most 8-year-old girls spend their weekends playing with toys, having sleepovers, and playing sports, one 8-year-old from New Zealand spends her weekends off on hunting trips with her dad.

Since Chloe was just a baby, she has been accompanying her dad Johny Yuile on hunting trips where her dad would shoot and kill wild animals like deer for food for the family, and the trips have even become a bonding activity for the father-daughter hunting duo.

“Chloe and I love our adventures together,” Johny said. “Chloe has been coming hunting with me since she was eight months old on a front pack.” As Chloe got older, she stopped just watching and started practicing at target shooting, and has shot a goat.

While out hunting on a recent trip together, Chloe shot her first deer ever, and her dad couldn’t have been more proud. After getting home, Johny took to the Facebook group ‘NZ Woman Hunters’ to share his little girl’s accomplishment.

“Check out my little pink ninja princess Chloe (8) with her first deer a young stag. Shot in a bush block on a friends [sic] farm last weekend,” Johny wrote.“Then she took a bite from its warm quivering heart.” However, his photos have garnered criticism worldwide for promoting animal killing as well as letting his daughter take a bite out of raw deer heart.

NZ Woman Hunters has since removed the photo after all the negative attention, but Johny was completely unphased by the negativity. “I’d quote the saying, ‘Lions do not care of the opinions of sheep.’ She wanted to do it when she saw a picture of her uncle biting the heart of his first deer,” He then added,“we’re not too serious about it; it’s something some hunters do with the first kill. I wouldn’t say ritualistic, but she is a hunter now.”

Dad Shares Controversial Photo Of Daughter Biting The Heart Of Deer She Shot is an article from: LifeDaily

Doctors and nurses take oaths to protect their patients and never intentionally do any harm while treating those left in their care, which is why mothers fully trust these otherwise strangers to care for their babies.

This past June, Texas mom Dana Martinez Monsarrat took her two-week-old newborn to the Children’s Health Center in Marble Falls so that she could get a routine PKU test, and since she fully trusted the doctors and nurses knew what they were doing, she stepped back and let them do what she thought was necessary.

However, before the test could be administered, baby Mila suffered second-degree burns after the nurse placed a plastic gel pack in the microwave and then applied the scalding hot gel to the delicate skin on her foot.

“I have kept quiet thinking something would be done legally about it,” Dana wrote in a post to Facebook about a month after the incident that left her baby girl horribly burned. “Nothing is being done. I have been in touch with the Texas State Medical board and they are also doing nothing. She was only 2 weeks old when this occurred. This situation has been treated like it wasn’t a big deal.”

“I have done everything I can possible for some thing [sic] to be done about this matter. And there is nothing more that can be done legally. It hurts me that the justice system has failed her. They are trying to be as quiet as possible about this. I’m done being quiet. I am one pissed off mama!”

Now, Dana is sharing her daughter’s story to warn other parents about the danger of these plastic gel packs, and is spreading a petition to ban them for use during the PKU test. “I consider myself a nice person. I consider myself a fair person. I have never been one to air my dirty laundry but I feel like something must be done about this situation,” she said. “It has been an absolute nightmare as a parent. I hope and pray no other parent or child has to ever go through what we have endured,”

2-Weeks-Old Suffers 2nd Degree Burns After Nurse Does This is an article from: LifeDaily

Cops are unfortunately used to pulling over drunk drivers who are putting themselves and other drivers on the road in danger, however, when on cop pulled over a drunk driver, he was stunned by what he saw in the backseat.

At around 5 p.m., a state trooper from the West Virginia State Police saw a driver who he suspected was drunk. State trooper B.R. Wood immediately pulled the driver over, however, when he looked in the backseat, he couldn’t believe his eyes when he saw a baby covered in vomit.

“We made an arrest for DUI,” Wood said. “The 1-year-old baby boy was in the backseat covered in vomit. The vehicle was disabled, so we brought the baby boy back to the detachment.”

The little boy had apparently been sick for some time, and when Senior Trooper D.C. Graham saw Wood with the baby, he instantly got to work cleaning him up.

“As a father myself, I couldn’t let it sit in its own urine and feces and vomit,” Graham said. “So I went ahead and drew a bath in the sink of the detachment and was able to clean him up a little bit and get him feeling a little bit better.”

“He was the best little baby. He had just started to nod off when CPS (Child Protective Services) arrived,” said Wood, who also added that the baby was now with a legal guardian and is being supervised by CPS.

The heroes were called in to help a small, petrified white dog living a dangerous life on a busy railway. Afraid of human contact, the dog was even more afraid of being rescued than when the trains would roll by, but the experts were able to convince the sweet stray he was better off with them.

Heroes Rush To Rescue A Homeless Dog Stuck On Railroad Tracks is an article from: LifeDaily

Here’s a story that proves just a little love can go a very long way when it comes to an animal’s health.

An animal shelter volunteer named Valia Orfanidou from Greece encounters way too many sick and injured creatures in her homeland, due to the struggling economy and homelessness. However, when this kindhearted hero came across a devastating photo of a dog on the brink of death, she felt compelled to do something… even if it was just to give the poor animal a place to die peacefully.

However, she had no idea that the dog had a relentless spirit and wouldn’t give into death so easily.

“When people first saw his picture, some [commenters] said that it looked fake — like a scene from a zombie video game,” Orfanidou told Huffington Post. “If you are a rescuer you always try to verify everything,” noting that there are so many strays, she had to know he was real before taking him in.

After a visit to the vet, Orfanidou was amazed to hear that the starving dog suffering from terrible mange could survive with a little TLC, so she set out to do everything she could to save him.

Hero Tried To Give Starving Dog A Place To Die Peacefully: He Did This Instead is an article from: LifeDaily

A mom posted a terrifying video of her baby with whooping cough struggling to stay alive. 

Australian mom Sandra Tanrikulu has two children, and her youngest baby is only a few weeks old.  She posted a video to Facebook showing her baby forced to stay in the hospital combatting a terrible case of whooping cough. 

While the video is alarming, Sandra explains she posted it to make parents aware of the dangerous repercussions of not vaccinating your children. 

“The scary symptom for babies is when they don’t cough but silently choke and turn blue/purple from lack of oxygen. If we weren’t in hospital and sitting watching our baby 24/7 the outcome would be fatal,” Sandra wrote. 

“This video may distress some people but I’m sharing to show just how scary and dangerous whooping cough is to babies who are too young to be vaccinated. This is my 5 week old baby during an episode where she chokes and stops breathing,” Sandra explained.”

Sandra’s video is going viral and she responded to commenters and said, “The head pediatrician wanted us to film it to show people how the cough isn’t always the worst/major symptom in babies. It’s the silent episodes which mean we are watching her 24/7 and very tired. Lucky my husband is amazing and we have been taking shifts.”

Sandra and her husband are up all day and night watching their baby to make sure she’s safe. While no one likes to be told that they should vaccinate their child, Sandra says, “Babies rely on herd immunity to keep them safe and unfortunately we cannot achieve that without high vaccination rates.”

She hopes her plea will bring awareness to parents to vaccinate their children.

Mom Posts Terrifying Video Of Her Baby With Whooping Cough is an article from: LifeDaily

A World War II veteran said he had one of the “best days of his life” when he was surprised with a touching tribute on the ship he once served on.

Ernest Thompson, a Navy veteran in his late 90s, once served aboard the USS Tennessee, followed by the USS Missouri during World War II. These days, the veteran lives in Gardena, California just a few miles from the location of the war memorial at USS Missouri, the battleship where the Japanese surrendered and the war came to an end.

“When he lost my grandmother, the one thing he wanted to do was visit his ship (the USS Missouri) again. We visited his ship together in 2000 and I was able to experience what these museum ships meant to veterans,” Williams wrote on Facebook.

Thompson’s grandson, Jonathan Williams, says that a bad fall and failing health has prevented him from walking, so he hasn’t been able to visit the decorated battleship. The Pacific Battleship Center’s volunteers soon heard and decided to bring the memorial to the Navy veteran.

In the following video, chief selects from Fleet Anti-Submarine Warfare Training Center perform the navy marching song “Anchors Aweigh.” When the Navy heroes surprise him, the elderly veteran did something incredible he hasn’t been able to do in a very long time — stand up and salute the chief selects.

Stephanie immediately called for an ambulance and her normally healthy baby boy was rushed to the emergency room. “He was taken straight to the resuscitation ward. If patients are there it is really life or death. We were so distraught – we thought we were going to lose him,” Stephanie said.

Doctors took blood tests, MRIs, and electromyograms, but were completely stumped when every test came back normal. However, as doctors struggled to find a diagnosis, Taylor started getting nosebleeds, had trouble breathing, and dropped to just under 7 pounds, which is less than he weighed at birth.

Eventually, doctors determined Taylor was suffering from Leigh Syndrome, which is a mitochondrial disease that causes the organs to shut down one by one and can lead to death in just two months. “When we were told it could be mitochondrial disease and that it was incurable our hearts broke – we were absolutely devastated,” Stephanie said. “The next month was hell. We thought we were going to lose our little boy. I completely shut down. I couldn’t talk to anyone about what was going on because I couldn’t bring myself to say the words.”

“The love you feel for your child is like nothing else so to hear they might die young after a painful life and bound to a wheelchair – and you can’t do anything about it – is the worst thing imaginable. I started to think about all the things I wanted for him like going to university, meeting a girl, walking down the aisle and having kids of his own and I couldn’t bear knowing he might never have any of that.”

Taylor’s blood was sent off for an official diagnosis, and in the meantime, doctors started him on  a variety of vitamins to help with symptoms, however, within a few days everyone was stunned to see him walking again, and everyone started calling him ‘mystery boy’.

Finally, his test results came back, and not only did he not have Leigh Syndrome, but Taylor really was just deficient in the vitamin biotin, which was one of the vitamins he had recently started taking for the mitochondrial disease. “To say we’re over the moon would be an understatement,” Stephanie said. “From the day he started the vitamin treatments he got his smile back and so have we. We never thought we’d see him happy or walking again.”

“Steven and I don’t have a ‘mystery boy’ we have a ‘miracle boy’. Our lives have been completely turned upside down and then turned back over again in just a few months. It’s been a whirlwind … We’ve gone from having tears streaming down our faces every time we looked at him, to cherishing every single moment.”

For first-time moms, every change and symptom of pregnancy is new and surprising, however, after giving birth to a few kids, everything becomes pretty routine and expected.

After giving birth to nine kids, Linda Reeves knows exactly what her body is like during pregnancy, which is why she knew she was pregnant for a tenth time when she started feeling all the usual signs like back pain, sickness, and exhaustion. “I’ve had nine children and I know what it’s like to feel a baby inside me,” Linda said.

The 50-year-old mother went to her doctor to confirm she was expecting, however, when they started the ultrasound, they found nothing in her womb. “I’ve had all the symptoms of pregnancy – sickness, backache, and tiredness. I am absolutely certain that there is a baby there, but it is growing in the wrong place,” said Linda, who now think she is having an abdominal pregnancy, which is where the baby grows outside the womb. “Nobody will take me seriously,” She added.

“I keep going to my GP and he’s agreed to a few times to send me for a pregnancy scan. But they only scan my womb – so how can they find my baby if it’s growing in my abdomen?”

Linda claims she has been pregnant for 15 months, however, doctors told her it was just from overeating. “He said I was just too fat. I was furious,” Linda said. “I may not be the slimmest person in the world but I’ve actually lost weight because I’ve been so stressed since all this started in May last year.”

“[Doctors] even suggested I have a mental health problem and it’s a phantom pregnancy. They gave me anti-depressants but I threw the prescription in the bin,” said Linda, who is now begging doctors to give her a full CT scan to see what’s inside of her. “If by some chance I am wrong, then I want to know exactly what is happening inside me. What if it’s cancer? I have a right to be treated seriously.”

Mom-Of-Nine Thinks She’s Pregnant Again, But Doctors Say… is an article from: LifeDaily

They say that when you find the one, you just know, and when one Ontario man started dating his girlfriend, he knew she was ‘the one.’ However, he wasn’t quite ready to settle down just yet and propose.

When Troy Reddington was just 20 years old, he and his 19-year-old girlfriend Jennifer Storrar took a trip to a campsite on Eagle Lake in South River, Ontario to bury a time capsule filled with their favorite songs, cell phones, and dream jobs. And five years later, they planned to revisit the site to unbury the time capsule together.

Three years after that, however, Troy was sitting around a campfire thinking about how he knew Jennifer was the one, and how he could use the buried time capsule as a way to propose. “It kind of struck me that this would really work,” Troy said. “I’m not ready to get engaged yet but when I am, this is what I want to do.”

This past May, Troy snuck back to the campsite, unburied the original time capsule, and replaced it with a new jar that contained a note wrapped up in a ribbon.

When the date finally came for the couple to unbury their time capsule, the two took a trip to the island, and got to work finding their hidden treasure, however, when they finally unburied it, Jennifer was angry that their stuff was missing.

Troy encouraged her to open it up and see what was inside, and the minute she read the note, which read ‘Will you marry me?‘, and saw Troy get down on his knee, she burst into tears. “I’ve never seen her so happy in my life,” Troy said. “She was crying and she almost made me cry actually, which never happens.”
