When two people decide to bring a child into this world, there is no guarantee that they will come out exactly as you wanted, however, one couple is suing their medical team after they discovered their baby girl was born disabled.

Regan Hooker and Wayne Ball did everything they were supposed to when they were expecting their first child together. They went to every doctor appointment and got every scan they were supposed to in order to make sure that the pregnancy was progressing normally.

Yet a few months after the birth of baby Aria, the couple noticed something seemed off with their baby, and after getting an MRI, doctors discovered Aria was born with Aicardi Syndrome, which is when the tissue connecting the left and right halves of the brain is either underdeveloped or totally missing.

Now the couple is suing their sonographer and specialist radiologist for $2.5 million dollars for ‘medical negligence’ because the condition should have been detected during routine ultrasounds, and if they had known of the condition, they would have terminated the pregnancy.

The parents claim they need that money to cover the extensive costs of baby Aria’s medical treatments to manage her hearing loss, vision issues, scoliosis, developmental delays, and a dislocated hip. “I would love to be able to stay at home and care for Aria but it’s just not possible with so many therapies and treatments to pay for,” said Hooker, who started a GoFundMe page to raise funds for treatment.

“She has always shown us signs of being a fighter, and we also are fighting in her corner for a better quality of life for Aria,” Hooker wrote.

Parents Sue Doctors For $2.5 Million Because Baby Was Born Disabled is an article from: LifeDaily

If a dog or cat owner heard they needed to spend $500 on surgery to save their precious furry best friend’s life, most wouldn’t hesitate to do it. Yet if the same happened to a pet goldfish, many would rather just buy a new fish instead of spending so much money at the vet.

Yet, when a 21-year-old Australian woman brought her pet goldfish named Conquer after noticing he was acting a little strange, she was determined to save her tiny fish no matter what the price. “Most people wouldn’t bat an eyelid spending this money on a dog, cat or child, so why would we value our beautiful exotic pets any less,” said a spokesperson from the Brisbane Bird and Exotics Veterinary Sevices center.

Once at the vet, they finally figured out that Conquer wasn’t eating because he had swallowed a black pebble in his tank and it had gotten stuck in the back of his throat. After his owner said she would happily pay $500 to save him, the vet took Conquer in for surgery and anesthetized him.

With a special tool, the vet opened Conquer’s tiny mouth and pulled out the stuck pebble, and then waited for him to wake up. Despite just undergoing surgery, the $12 fish looked noticeably better when he woke up, and is already back home swimming in his own tank.

“It really came down to the fact that his mum is so observant,” the spokesperson said. “Had she not noticed the subtle changes in her pet, he would surely have starved.”

Woman Spends $500 At The Vet After Fish Swallowed Pebble is an article from: LifeDaily

From an early age, most kids are taught to stand with their right hand over their heart whenever the national anthem is played, but that was always impossible for one Michigan little boy.

9-year-old LoganWilson was born three and a half months premature and weighed just one pound and 10 ounces at birth. He spent six months in the NICU, but as he gained weight and strength, doctors realized the baby boy had spastic quad cerebral palsy, which has made it impossible for him to walk without help from medical equipment.

Doctors told his mom, Rebecca, that he had no chance of a good quality of life, however, he loves everyone he meets and understands everything, including the national anthem. Logan knows he’s supposed to stand while the anthem plays, but because of his condition, he could only manage to take off his hat to show respect.

And while watching a recording of a game the other day, Logan heard the national anthem playing from the stadium and stunned his mom by attempting to stand up for the first time. “He always takes off his hat,” she said. “But until yesterday I never really saw him try to stand. He just knew that is what we do to show respect to our country and everyone who fights so hard for us.  He is truly just an amazing kid just doing what he loves.”

“Even my 9-year-old with CP (who can’t walk) knows you’re supposed to stand up during the national anthem…He loves it,” the proud mother wrote in a post to Facebook along with the video, which has since gone viral.

Boy With Cerebral Palsy Stands For The First Time While Anthem Plays On TV is an article from: LifeDaily

When buying clothes online, there’s always a chance that the pieces you ordered won’t fit as you had hoped or look quite like how they do in the pictures.

So when one woman finally received a dress she ordered online, she was pleasantly surprised when she quickly looked it over and it looked exactly as she hoped it would. However, when she later went to try the dress on, she noticed something very strange around the waist of the dress.

As the woman, who has not been named and is believed to be from Brooklyn, looked closer, she realized there was a large lump protruding out the side of the dress.

And as she inspected the lump, she saw a tiny claw peeking out along with a few clumps of hair and realized the lump was actually a dead mouse that had been sewn into her dress. She quickly took a photo and sent it off to her friend, who posted the photo to Reddit.

 “My friend ordered a dress online and it came with a mouse sewn into it,” the friend wrote in the post to Reddit. Hundreds of people began sharing and commenting on the post before it was deleted suggesting that it was possible the mouse had fallen asleep in the fabric and then sewn in.

They say that the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree, and one couple already knows that their unborn baby will be just like dad after seeing the baby for the first time in a sonogram.

Georgia mom Mehgan Merriott and her boyfriend Robert Cooper Jr. were thrilled when they found out they were going to have a baby, and couldn’t wait to get a glimpse of their baby boy or girl at their 12-week check-up at the doctor to make sure everything was going smoothly.

However, when Mehgan laid back during the ultrasound, the doctor was struggling to get a good picture of the tiny baby because it wasn’t moving at all. “The baby was being very stubborn, and did not want to wake up for the doctor to get the pictures that she needed,” the expecting mom said.

Finally, Mehgan and Robert’s baby decided to wake up, and stretched out its arm and appeared to be saluting them. “So baby threw their hand up there! It almost made me cry – I thought it was the sweetest thing,” said Mehgan, who’s due next March.

Much like the heartbroken parents who lost their 1-year-old child at daycare after they were suffocated by a bean bag chair, the parents of 11-month-old Taliah Brigham are finally getting justice for their baby girl.

On April 6, 2016, police officers rushed to Miracles and Blessings Daycare Ministry in Speedway, Indiana to find daycare workers standing over the baby girl and rubbing her abdomen. According to reports by police, the girl was blue and not breathing and there was a stain below her of formula mixed with the baby’s blood.

“A car seat is not the best way to secure your child unless you are in a car,” Marion County Prosecutor Terry Curry said at a news conference. She also explained that one adult can not properly care for over 30 kids, who one parent that called the police after dropping off something at the daycare observed were spread out in three different rooms.

Taliah had only started attending the daycare eight days before the accident. Her father, Troyel Brigham told WishTV he just wishes he could hold her one last time.

“Even though I lost that star, I still have it, because she is is still within me,” he said. “I still wish that she was still here. But I will live my life through her. I will never forget her.”

As if having your parents embarrass you by showing off hilarious, adorable, and often very personal baby photos to your first boyfriend or girlfriend, or a new friend wasn’t bad enough when you were younger, Facebook makes it a lot easier for those photos to come out of hiding after many years.

When shared with the right – or wrong – people, those seemingly innocent photos from when you were younger can very easily go viral… or cause some problems in your life.

That’s exactly why one woman in Austria is going as far as taking legal action after she says her baby photos were shared on the site against her will.

As reported byThe Local, the 18-year-old woman has been the victim of total embarrassment after her parents have posted baby photos that include her being potty trained, having her diaper changed, or even in the nude since 2009.

“They knew no shame and no limit – and didn’t care whether it was a picture of me sitting on the toilet or lying naked in my cot — every stage was photographed and then made public,” the 18-year-old said to The Local.

However, the teen’s father believes that he has the right to share them because he took the photos. The Local reports that when the lawsuit goes to court in November it could have big ramifications for Internet use in Austria and laws about what photos parents share of their children.

Teen Sues Her Parents For Sharing Embarrassing Baby Photos On Facebook is an article from: LifeDaily

To be fair, it was a TOY car, but police still found him going for a 2AM joyride.

The South Carolina boy snuck out of his house in the middle of the night wearing nothing but sweatpants and a diaper. His parents had no idea he was missing and wouldn’t have known until the morning if it wasn’t for a passerby who came upon the BMW x6 toy car. The passerby came across the bizarre scene about a quarter mile from the child’s house.

“It seems he just slipped out during the night and started driving down the road,” said Ken Bell, the public information officer for the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office. “If he would have gone any further he would have hit a main road.”

Police said the boy was in good health besides being confused about being hauled down to the police department in the middle of the night.

“The police asked them if they had a 2-year-old son and they said yes,” said Bell. “Police asked him to check if he was in bed and he wasn’t. They were shocked.”

“We were fortunate it was happy ending,” said Bell. “So many things could have gone wrong.”

No charges were filed against the parents but police did strongly recommend they put a lock on the front door.

As teachers know all too well, kids can get distracted by the smallest things, which is why one school teacher told one of her kindergarten students to put away a candy wrapper he was fiddling with in his hands.

The boy put it away, but within a few minutes, he was back to playing with it. Since the 5-year-old couldn’t listen, the teacher went to confiscate it, yet when she looked closer at the white ‘candy’ wrapper, she realized it was a packet of heroin. She then looked in his lunchbox and found 29 more packs of the deadly drug, which easily could have killed him and any other kids had he given them out to classmates.

Afraid that the little boy had eaten some of the ‘candy’ the teacher called 911 to rush her student to the Capital Health Medical Senter in New Jersey to make sure there was no heroin in his system. Luckily, all the tests came back negative and the boy was perfectly safe, however, now police are investigating where the drugs came from in the first place.

“Thank God he wasn’t giving it to other students. My daughter got grilled last night. I said, ‘Don’t take anything!’,” one parent from the International Academy of Trenton said after the school contacted parents to explain what had been found in a kindergarten student’s lunchbox.

5-Year-Old Brings Heroin To School In His Lunchbox is an article from: LifeDaily

Parents entrust schools and teachers to care for and protect their children while at school, which is why one foster mom is furious that her son’s school did nothing while he bled everywhere after gashing his head.

When foster mom Bobby Williams picked up her 16-year-old son, who is severely autistic, from his school, she found him covered in blood from a deep gash in his head that wouldn’t stop bleeding. Instead of calling 911, the school did nothing to treat the boy all day, and instead called Williams to let her know that he ‘bumped his head’.

“He had a little accident and kind of bumped his head,” the teachers said to Williams . “Her words were ‘he may or may not need stitches.’” Williams rushed her son to the hospital to get the deep wound checked and cleaned by a doctor. “He said we have to stitch this up right away,” she said. “We had to hold him, and they put four staples in his head.”

Since Williams’ son can’t speak, she has no idea what happened or how long he was left in pain and is trying to get answers from the school about what happened and why they did nothing to help him. “He’s about like a 12-month-old baby,” Williams said. “He has to be fed. He has to be changed.”

The school explained that the 16-year-old had been ‘secured with a gait belt’, meaning he had been tied to a chair when he fell back and hit his head on the corner of a supply closet.

“If I don’t protect him, he won’t be protected,” said Williams, who has still not gotten an answer from the school about why they never called 911. “This happened August 26,” she said. “When do I get an answer?”

Boy Comes Home From School With Severe Gash In His Head is an article from: LifeDaily

After one Indiana couple found out they were expecting their second child, they decided to make the most of their remaining months of one-on-one time with their 2-year-old son by enjoying plenty of family outings this summer.

Last month, Kayla Dunham, her husband, and their 2-year-old son Grayson had been spending their summer going out to eat at restaurants, going to the state fair, and visiting the petting zoo. However, all the fun stopped when Grayson woke up on the morning of Aug. 10 and began vomiting and having painful diarrhea.

At first, the concerned parents thought it was just a stomach bug, but when their pediatrician heard that Grayson was not doing any better from his last visit just days before, and now passing blood in his stool and having extreme stomach pain on top of the vomiting and diarrhea, he told them to go straight to the hospital.

At the hospital, doctors struggled to diagnose the problem, and told the parents that their little boy had the stomach flu, then they said he may be having issues with his intestines, and then they suspected a problem with his appendix before finally realizing he was suffering from HUS. “We were misdiagnosed five times before they said, yes this is HUS,” Kayle said.

HUS, or hemolytic uremic syndrome, destroys red blood cells and clogs the kidneys and occurs after being infected by E. coli, which is often found in contaminated foods like unwashed fruits and vegetables, undercooked meats, and can even be spread by animals.

Less than a week after getting sick, Grayson died unexpectedly in the hospital. “It is a parent’s worst nightmare. He had never been sick… When you think of things happening, you think of severe illnesses like cancer or car accidents. You don’t think of E. coli,” the expecting mom said. “My heart is in shock I’m numb, and I don’t have words for what even happened. This wasn’t supposed to happen.”

The family still has no idea if their little boy was exposed to E. coli at the petting zoo, at one of the restaurants they ate at, or if some of the produce Kayla bought at the market was contaminated, but they’re sharing their story to warn parents about how dangerous E. coli can be. “I am sharing my story with you all in hopes that as parents you stand up for your children and advocate for them. Never ever give up on them,” said Kayla, who is now planning on naming her daughter due in January ‘Graysie’.

2-Year-Old Tragically Dies After Being Misdiagnosed 5 Times is an article from: LifeDaily

Experienced thieves usually try their best to not leave any traces of their presence at the scene of the crime, which is part of the reason why one Texas dad can tell the burglars who broke into his family’s home haven’t had the most practice.

After spending the day out with his daughter, Houston dad Joseph Alvarado came home and found the front door open. When they got inside, they could see the house had been ransacked and realized some of their belongings were missing. It was clear they had been robbed, but Alvarado was heartbroken to see that the ‘robbers‘ were actually two young kids after finding two notes in the home.

The two young kids had jumped the back fence, kicked in the back door, and robbed the family home, yet before leaving, the two siblings wrote notes to their victims. The mastermind of the robbery wrote: “I broke in … haha … and took your PS3, controlers (sic), games, and computer…by: a kid haha”

The other thief wrote: “I stole your suffe (sic) because my borther (sic) told me to.”

“It’s just heart-wrenching to read that stuff,” said Alvarado, who is a teacher. “It is super hard just to know that this is somebody that made the wrong choice. Somebody decided to kick open somebody’s door, break some items and take some stuff and thought that was a good choice.”

Child-Like Note Left Behind After Robbers Break Into Family’s Home is an article from: LifeDaily

If apple sauce makes a hundred children sick, the FDA has the power to issue a recall and prevent further damage from happening to other children. But what happens if a hair care product makes your child go bald?

As it turns out, the U.S. government can’t remove a product from the shelves, even if it’s proven to be unsafe.

However, after 9-year-old Eliana Lawrence went bald as a result of using shampoo, legislators in Washington are now discussing expanding these laws.

However, the exact opposite. “I noticed that her hairbrush was overflowing with hair. I’d never seen her brush in that condition before,” Mirian said. Now, 11-year-old Eliana has some of her red curls finally growing back.

The company has received more than 21,000 complaints from dissatisfied customers who report baldness, rashes, and hair loss after using the product.

Despite the issues, the hair product still remains on the shelves.

“We have shared our formulations and ingredients with the FDA,” the company told CBS News. “We … exceed the FDA’s requirements for cosmetic manufacturers and have always been transparent.”

And while an investigation is ongoing, the FDA can’t do anything to regulate this problem because of a 1938 law.

That’s right, in a cosmetic industry that’s worth $62 billion, the FDA is relatively useless.

“We’re talking baby wipes, toothpaste, deodorant, shampoo, hair gel,” said attorney Tina Sigurdson, with the Environmental Working Group.

“There’s no legal requirement that a company makes sure a product is safe before they sell it,” she told CBS.

11-Year-Old Girl Goes Bald After Using Hair Product; Government Can’t Do Anything is an article from: LifeDaily

Few animals are as significant a figure in the American landscape than a wild horse.

Images of horses running wild appear everywhere from beer ads to the cover of cheesy romance novels. They graze the frames of children’s movies, action films, and horrors. They have even found their way into the bed of the occasional mob drama (anyone a fan of The Godfather?).

So when a government board announced a plan to exterminate 45,000 horses at the expense of taxpayers, well…people were less than happy.

And for those who don’t end up euthanized by the government, they can end up in government-run facilities where they can be left in pens, standing temperatures up to 100 degrees.

When these facilities become overcrowded, the animals are often auctioned off and sent to facilities that do end up slaughtering the poor animals, like this report that details how a Colorado rancher ended up sending horses to a slaughter facility in Mexico.

Many others have stepped up against the slaughter of so many wild horses. And while the decision to carry out the mass killing have not been finalized, alternative solutions are being discussed.
