Two Kansas City Moms Are Horrified To Find Worms In Their Babies’ Formula

When it comes to feeding an infant, every new parent is different.

Yet, whether a mother chooses to breastfeed or go with formula for other reasons, there is one thing they all want – and that’s to keep their babies healthy and nourished.

That’s exactly why two moms from Missouri are furious after finding something sickening in their babies’ formula. Taylor Seyler of Independence told KSHB in Kansas City that she usually breastfeeds her firstborn son, Keighan, but supplemented a can of Similac formula. However, before she got to feed her son, she noticed something horrific swimming around the bottle.

[KSHB]
[KSHB]
“Two ounces down I noticed the worms and I was like ‘Oh. That’s great,'” she told KSHB. “Took it from his mouth, went and put a napkin over the faucet and we poured it down the drain and we saw the maggots on it.”

Seyler soon shared some photos of the formula online, where they were shared tens of thousands of times. Not long after, the same thing happened to mom of four, Helen Williamson, with her baby daughter’s Nutramigen formula.

[KSHB]
[KSHB]
“I went to burp her like normal. I happened to glance over at the bottle and saw you know waves. I pick up the bottle and hold it in the light and I see worms like inching up. Pick up the can and looked in it and saw pieces of the formula moving inside the can. So I was like oh my gosh,” Williamson told KSHB. “I just feel like they’re not doing something right because there wouldn’t be, I’m sorry they look like maggots to me. There wouldn’t be maggots crawling around in my baby’s bottle.”

[KSHB]
[KSHB]
The thought of this happening is horrifying, but both formula companies insisted they take careful measures to ensure the safety of their products.

Yet Williamson insists that a gross mistake like this shouldn’t have happened. “You know I depend on that company and this is what happens then I hear that this isn’t the first time,” she said. “It’s not right. It really isn’t.”

A good magic trick can ignite the curiosity of most adults, but to watch an orangutan’s reaction is enjoyable all on its own.

Magician Matt G recently made a visit to the Great Ape’s enclosure in the UK’s Colchester Zoo and met with Raj, one of the zoo’s majestic orangutans. Matt G performed a trick for Raj and passed a playing card to him through the solid glass wall that kept them apart.

At first, Raj picked up a stick and tried to poke at the card thinking it may move. When the card magically appeared on Raj’s side of the glass, he didn’t know what to think.

He picked it up and put it on his nose to smell it and then began poking it with a stick to make sure it was real. Matt G enjoyed every moment of blowing the mind of Raj and so did we.

Matt G posted the hysterical video to Facebook, where it’s received upwards of 730,000 views. When Junichi Fukuda’s 16-year-old dog and best friend passed away, he was completely devastated.

Having recently gone through a divorce, 55-year-old Fukuda says that his black pug Momoko was his entire life. “She was the best pet in the world for me. The reason I was able to work hard and become more successful was because I was together with Momoko, that was how much I loved her,” Fukuda said.

Luckily, weeks before Momoko passed, Fukuda was able to get cell samples taken of the dog in order for her to be cloned. One-hundred-thousand dollars and three months later, his cloned pooch was ready to be picked up.

Unfortunately, Fukuda needs to wait until his cloned pup is old enough to pass through Japanese customs and be able to come home with him to his apartment in Tokyo.

For now, Fukuda flies to Seoul every Friday where he heads to Biotech Labs to pick up his black pug who he named Momotan, and spends the day with her in any apartment he rented. After hanging with the 5-month-old pup all weekend, Fukuda drops her off Monday morning and takes an 8-hour commute back home to Japan. Fukuda has been doing this since May, and in November he will be able to take Momotan home with him.

While some probably think this is a lot of work to see a pet, Fukuda has already invested so much money in cloning his dog, that he fears she will reject him if he doesn’t visit her enough.

Would you ever consider cloning your dog?

Family Reels In Shock And Horror After Finding Dog Skinned In Backyard

A Washington family found themselves living in a real-life nightmare on Sunday after they found their beloved dog dead, skinned, and laid out in their backyard.

The family said they let Magoo out for his usual run and potty break in the fenced in backyard sometime Sunday morning. About a half hour later, they found the dog dead in the yard.

[KATU]
[KATU]
“They must have taken the dog, they did whatever they did to him, and they put him back. That’s what really scares me is that they put him back. What does it mean? Is it, is it a message,” says Susanne Bauman, Magoo’s owner.

The most horrifying part of this disgusting and tragic story is the way the dog was laid out afterward. Whoever did this arranged Magoo in such a cryptic way, all while the family started their day inside their home.

[KATU]
[KATU]
“It’s disgusting. It’s disgusting. And we’re all just completely devastated and in shock,” says Bauman’s daughter Julia Sarver.”I’m scared because somebody who would do this, what else would they do? I think that’s the question for us.”

“I mean, this person came onto our property, took the dog, killed him, skinned him, put him back on the property and positioned him like he was a rug,” said Sarver. “With his paws crossed and his head on his paws… laid him out. It’s disgusting.”

[KATU]
[KATU]
Clark County Animal Protection & Control came to the house to gather evidence. However, a Clark County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson said they are not yet sure why a deputy wasn’t called out to the house, adding “animal cruelty is a crime under Washington state law and the investigation of these crimes is the responsibility of law enforcement.”

[KATU]
[KATU]
Meanwhile, Magoo’s remains are due to be sent to Oregon State University for further investigation. The family told local news they are shocked somebody would do something so awful to their pet. They are stunned and appalled.

Can you believe somebody could do this to a precious pet? Please tell us your thoughts in the comments and SHARE with friends and family.

Three-year-old Tucker may look different than other dogs, but that doesn’t make him any less loveable.

Tucker suffers from MPS VI, a mucopolysaccharide disease that causes deformities and various medical issues, and when he smiles he looks a lot more like a bat than a little puppy dog.

His condition also results in him having deformed front paws and cloudiness in his eyes. While it’s difficult for Tucker to walk properly, and he needs to wear special goggles to see, he has adjusted over time.

Baby Born With Giant Tongue Is Finally Able To Smile

There isn’t much sweeter than seeing a tiny baby look up and smile at their mom and dad for the very first time.

Yet while most babies start smiling at just a few weeks old, for baby Paisley Morrison-Johnson, her first grin was well worth the wait. When Paisley was born in Aberdeen, South Dakota 16 months ago, doctors were stunned by her overgrown tongue, which was about twice the size of an average adult’s, and worried it could block her airways and make the little girl choke to death.

[Caters News Agency]
[Caters News Agency]
Paisley was born with Beckwith-Wiedemann Syndrome, just like the little boy in this story, and would need surgery so she could breathe normally, learn to speak, and smile at her loved ones.

“Doctors tried bottle feeding her but they couldn’t find any nipple that would help her,” mom Madison Kienow told Caters News Agency. “She had to have a [gastronomy]-tube fitted because not enough food was getting into her stomach.” At just 1-year-old Madison and her husband scheduled Paisley’s first surgery to reduce the giant tongue, but they were surprised when it grew back after a short time.

[Caters News Agency]
[Caters News Agency]
A few months later, Paisley’s parents knew they had to try again to save their daughter. This time around, doctors took nearly six inches of the muscle.  “Since recovering, she smiled for the very first time. I couldn’t believe it and was shocked by how beautiful my little girl looked,” Kienow said. “Now she’s not even having difficulties eating, which is a massive relief.”

[Caters News Agency]
[Caters News Agency]
Since the rare disorder is also known to cause tumors and puts people at higher risk for cancer, she will need to be monitored for many years to come, but her mom is overjoyed by her recovery.

“She’s like a completely new baby — her facial features look different, she smiles a lot and she has even getting close to saying her first words,” Kienow told Caters News Agency. “We’re really confident about her future.”

When Guy Williams took out his phone to film a pesky raccoon, he got a lot more than he bargained for.

Nineteen-year-old Williams spotted the raccoon walking around campus at Bellarmine University in Kentucky and thought it’d be cool to get some footage of the little guy. Naming him Stanley, Williams set up his phone on the grass and pressed record. To lure Stanley in, Williams even tempted him with some tasty acorns. Moments later, Stanley was more interested in William’s phone than the acorns.

The raccoon picked up William’s phone and ran with it. He then posted the hysterical video on Twitter saying,”I WAS TRYNNA VIDEO A RACCOON AND IT JUST PICKED UP MY PHONE AND TOOK OFF.”

In a second video, shot by his friend, Williams chases after Stanley in a hysterical pursuit. Lucky for Williams, he was eventually able to get his phone back after Stanley dropped it on the ground. Since posted the clip to Twitter, it has been viewed thousands of times.

Famous Musician Mike Rayburn Performs Moving Rendition Of ‘Cats In The Cradle’ For Dad

Few songs move my heart quite like Harry Chapin’s ‘Cats In The Cradle.’

Perhaps it’s because the bittersweet story weaves an almost-happy tale of love, life, and aging… one that forces us to contemplate our own life, death, and family relationships.

The famously sad song is told by a father whose work keeps him on the road and away from his family. In it, the singer tells us of how his wife gives birth to a beautiful baby boy, “but there were planes to catch and bills to pay. He learned to walk while I was away.”

[Wikipedia]
[Wikipedia]
He then continues to tie together strings of the soulful story that describe an average American life. As the ballad progresses, the young boy grows and begs his father to spend quality time with him, but there was always something more important to do. The unwavering boy is disappointed but still encouraged by his father’s promises that, “we’ll have a good time then.”

In the final two verses, the roles are reversed as the aging father wishes to spend time with his son, who now doesn’t have time for his father. “What I’d really like Dad is to borrow the car keys, see ya later, can I have them please,” the singer recounts.

[ShutterStock]
[ShutterStock]
It isn’t until the final verse that a bittersweet realization dawns on the contemplative narrator when he sees, “my boy was just like me.” The absent father had raised his son to be just like him and his son became an equally absent figure from his own life.

The realization is a tough one for the narrator, who shares his feelings in the melancholy melody that weaves its way beneath the lonely lyrics and bleeds emotion from even the hardest of hearts. Perhaps the only sound more moving than the forlorn folk song is the accompaniment of hospital surroundings.

[Mike Rayburn]
[Mike Rayburn]
When comedian and musician Mike Rayburn was losing his own father in 2013, he decided to play the famous song for Dad on his hospital bed. The well-known motivational speaker said he hasn’t always had the best relationship with his father, but it felt appropriate to play the song for the man who taught him the chords.

If you can make it through this devastating take of Chapin’s famous song without tears in your eyes, you are a stronger soul than myself.

If the song does move you, please tell us in the comments and don’t forget to SHARE with somebody you love.

Mississippi Dog Brings Home Pound Of Weed After Doing Her Business

Dog Weed

A black lab named Miley confirmed the universal truth that dogs are truly man’s best friend after she brought home a pound of marijuana to her confused owners.

Most dogs just bring in the morning paper, but perhaps this one thought her family needed to like, totally chill out, dude.

According to the New York Daily News, Miley was out in Laurel, Mississippi doing her business when she returned home with a different kind of business. At first, the perplexed owners thought it was just a bag of garbage, but upon closer inspection, they found a pound of high-grade marijuana separated into assorted baggies inside the larger white bag.

[Jones County Sheriff's Department]
[Jones County Sheriff’s Department]
After what must have been a strange call to authorities, narcotic investigators arrived on the scene and determined there was lower grade marijuana mixed in with the contents.

And because Miley can’t very well tell investigators who her connection is, it seems like the mystery of the magically appearing pound of pot will remain just that for the time being.

[Jones County Sheriff's Department]
[Jones County Sheriff’s Department]
“They can’t really ask the dog, ‘From what pile did you get that?’” Allyson Knotts, spokesperson for the Jones County Sheriff’s Office said Monday said. “It’s under investigation, but it was a tricky incident.”

While the investigation continues, the drugs have been seized and the questions linger, like why on Earth anybody would turn over a pound of marijuana to the police. Not everyone would turn over free drugs so easily.

What do you make of this story? Tell us in the comments and please SHARE with friends and family.

When one North Carolina mother got a call from her son’s school informing her that her son ‘fell’, she headed straight over to pick him up, but wasn’t too worried since it didn’t sound too serious.

Yet when Jennifer Strickland-Stacy got to Archdale Trinity Middle School, she was horrified when she saw her stepson Skyler Stacy’s face was covered in blood, bruises, and scratches. “It was just gory,” Jennifer said. “His face was bloody.” In that moment, Jennifer realized that the school’s story wasn’t adding up .

“I found out my son didn’t fall,” Jennifer said. “My son was shoved by the boy who had been bullying him. The boy shoved him face first into the pavement.” And when Jennifer took the 13-year-old to get checked by a doctor, she found out that when Skyler hit the ground, he was left with not only bruises and scrapes, but a fractured eyebrow bone.

This is the fifth time Skylar has been harassed by the same bully, yet the school has done nothing to protect him. “The first incident was when he poured water on my son,” Jennifer said. “The second incident, he took my son’s cell phone. The third incident, he spit in his face and shoved him. The fourth incident is when he repeatedly smacked my son in his face.” As punishment for some of those incidents, the bully was banned from riding on the bus with Skyler, yet that punishment only lasted three days.

Jennifer is tired of the school telling her they would ‘handle it’ and has now turned to the police to protect her son. “It’s awful to have to see his face like this because usually he’s so happy,” said Jennifer, who now has to drive her son to school every day so he isn’t on the bus and is considering homeschooling him.

Can you believe the school has done nothing to protect this young boy? Let us know what you think in the comments below, and please SHARE this with parents on Facebook.

Doctors Successfully Separate Twins Conjoined At The Head In 27 Hour Surgery

UPDATE: One-year-old twin boys Anias and Jadon McDonald are successfully separated after a 27-hour-long surgery.

Illinois mom Nicole McDonald spent months of her second pregnancy with her twin boys refusing her doctors who suggested she ‘terminate’ the pregnancy at every check-up. And despite all odds, she and husband Christian welcomed healthy twin boys into the world.

Ania and Jadon are not typical twins. In fact, only one in every 2.5 million births results in twins like Ania and Jadon, who are conjoined at the head and share a brain. Despite the hurdles, Nicole and Christian love their sons just as they are and don’t want to change a thing about them. “They’re so perfect. They’re beautiful, and they are so funny and so happy. “I could almost keep them like this,” Nicole said. “We like them the way they are,” added Christian.

However, together as a family, the McDonald’s have decided to risk everything in order to do what they believe is best for their sons. Through a long, high-risk surgery, they plan to separate them in order to give them a more normal life where they can sit up, crawl, sit in a stroller and go for walks outside, ride in a car without being carefully laid down on the minivan floor, wear a shirt, and maybe walk someday. “These boys, they’re raring to go,” Christian said. “They can’t stay like this any longer.”

“This is so hard,” Nicole said, “I’m not going to sugarcoat it.” The 20-hour surgery will attempt to separate the twins and the 2 inches of brain tissue that they share. “One or both twins can be neurologically challenged, or they can have a mental or physical handicap.

We know that is definitely a real possibility, but we’re still going to love our boys,” the 37-year-old father said. And if the boys survive the surgery and the delicate 72 hours after the operation, they face weeks and months in critical care and rehabilitation. “They go back to a 1-month-old,” said Dr. James Goodrich. “They have to learn to sit. They have to learn to roll. They have to learn to walk. They basically go through a yearlong period of a second infancy.”

Despite the long road ahead and all the hurdles they face, the McDonalds still think the surgery is the best option for their boys.

“There’s nothing harder than watching your child cry and not being able to pick them up. To hear them cry and react to it in a motherly way is something I’m really excited for,” Nicole said. “I can’t wait to see them as two separate little boys,” Christian added. “That’s what excites me the most. I really just want to know my boys.”

From the day a child is born, they rely on their parents for absolutely everything from food and shelter to love and protection, which is why what one couple did to their baby online is so disgusting.

While thousands of people around the world struggle with infertility and would pay any price to have a baby of their own, one German couple actually tried to sell their infant for a profit online. The parents, whose identities have not been revealed, posted the ad on eBay, which has since been taken down by the site.

In the ad, the 40-day-old newborn girl named Maria was listed for sale for just 5,000 Euros, or about $5,500 US dollars, and showed photos of the dark-haired baby in three different outfits. Yet within a half hour, eBay swiftly deleted the ad after receiving complaints from users who were concerned for the baby’ safety.

‘We received a lot of complaints from users and we immediately pursued the matter. In such a case, we provide the authorities with all available information,” eBay spokesperson Pierre Du Bois said. “We immediately ban these providers. While out on a hike with his family, one Canadian man spotted a furry newborn puppy on the ground. And when he looked closer, he realized the abandoned pup, who hadn’t even opened its eyes yet, was sick and would die without help.

“We needed to get it attended to because we don’t have that capability. I’m not a mommy,” said Ralph Shopland, who found the injured pup. They carefully picked the one-week-old up, carried it to the car, and went straight to the vet for a check-up to see what could be done to nurse him back to health.

Yet when the team from the Yukon Wildlife Preserve took a look at the abandoned pup, they realized the baby wasn’t actually a dog. “I just defaulted to thinking it was a dog,” Shopland said. The team won’t know for sure if the baby is an otter, marten, wolverine, or fox until he gets older, but are confident that he’s a fox because of the white tip at the end of his tail.

While Shopland saved this baby, whose mom most likely was hit by a car, he will live the rest of his life in captivity, which is why conservation officers are warning other to never pick up or approach baby wild animals. “If you think you’ve found orphaned wildlife, in most cases mother is very close by and just waiting for you to leave,” said Yukon conservation officer Dave Bakica. “We try to tell people, please do not pick up any orphaned wildlife.”
