Josette Duran from Albuquerque, New Mexico, was overcome with joy when she found out why her son Dylan had asked her to pack two lunches for him at school. 

For months, Duran packed her son an extra lunch for school, simply because he asked her to. One day, Duran asked Dylan, “Are you not getting full, boo?” Dylan finally spilled the reason why he needed two lunches.

“Mom it’s for this boy. He only eats a fruit cup for lunch. Can you make him lunch too? I don’t think he has lunch money.”

At that moment, Duran’s heart sank and she was so proud of her son for what he was doing. “It’s not for praise or anything; it’s pretty — pretty intense,” Duran said in a Facebook live video. 

After the mother of the little boy found out what the Duran’s were doing, she contacted the school to pay Duran back for her kindness. “She says, ‘I know this isn’t much, but I just got a job, and I know you’ve been feeding my son,’” Duran explained on Facebook.

Duran, however, wouldn’t accept the mom’s money, and instead, she continued to pay it forward. According to KCCI, the girls’ volleyball team Duran coaches raised more than $400 to pay Duran back for her good deed. Duran said she couldn’t instead that either, and instead, donated the money to the cafeteria. “We paid up all the past due accounts for all the kids who need lunch,” Duran said. “So now, nobody in that school owes any money, and now everyone can eat.”

Duran explains that she was Dylan’s number one fan before, but now she’s even more amazed by him. “My cup runneth over,” the satisfied mom wrote.

Boy Asks Mom To Pack Him Two Lunches Every Day For School is an article from: LifeDaily

It’s that time of year again, when people are breaking out their Halloween decorations, and getting each other in the spookiest holiday spirit. 

Yet one family’s display in Texas is getting push-back from moms who say children shouldn’t see these kinds of decorations while walking around the neighborhood. The display includes zombie babies with red eyes splattered in blood sitting in a crib that used to belong to the family’s sons. 

A zombie mother looks on, and hanging from the house are plastic limbs and severed heads.

While the display has gotten positive reactions from some children in the neighborhood, one mother wrote KTRK saying, “Halloween decorations are going too far. Young children should not be exposed to this while walking around the neighborhood.”

One of the other neighbors, Greg Pagans said that he’s fine with the display. “It’s their yard; they pay their taxes on that yard,” he said. “It’s hard to keep everybody happy, impossible to keep everybody happy.” Pagans describes the mother and father as being great neighbors and they have three boys, ranging from 8 months to 10 years old. 

Thirteen-year-old Charles Mechura, who lives in the neighborhood said,“I think they’re cool. It’s more different than the normal ones you see. You can see they’re plastic and not real; you don’t see bloody babies roaming around normally.”

We can totally understand while some parents would not want their young children to see this. Especially if their kids are prone to nightmares.

Neighbors Are Outraged When Family Sets Up Creepy Halloween Display is an article from: LifeDaily

When one Houston woman woke up one morning, she expected to find her dogs waiting for her to feed them her breakfast like they always did. However, when she went outside, she found one of her dogs cut up and bleeding.

Veronica Castro couldn’t figure out what had injured her one dog, Chaz, so severely, but knew it couldn’t have been an animal attack since the cuts were more precise and clean to be bite marks. Castro decided to take a look at her home’s security footage and gasped when she discovered that a person was responsible for Chaz’s injuries.

At around 1:30 in the morning, a man walked up to Castro’s house while she was asleep, and called the two dogs over to the tall fence. Once close enough, the man started stabbing Chaz in the nose and face and swiped at his neck. “This is cruelty, my dogs were in their own property and this waste of space hurt one of them,” Castro wrote in a post to facebook along with her security footage, which has been viewed nearly 400,000 times.

Castro immediately brought Chaz to the vet for surgery, and is luckily recovering at home from the stab wounds. “My dog is thankfully alive, but cut up and I hope he will heal soon,” said Castro who is sharing her story to warn others and hopefully help catch the monster responsible.

One Michigan man knew his 2-year-old dog better than anyone else, which is why he knew something was seriously wrong when he suddenly started sneezing one afternoon and leaving trails of blood everywhere from a recurring nosebleed.

One afternoon, Mark Kovicak’s 2-year-old beagle, Rex, had run off into the woods after a bunny, however, when he came back, he couldn’t stop sneezing and had suddenly developed bad nosebleeds. Mark immediately took Rex to the vet to get him checked out, and was sent home with a prescription for antibiotics.

The medicine did nothing to help stop the nosebleeds or his constant sneezing, and for six months, Mark spent hours visiting vets and searching google to help put Rex’s mysterious suffering to an end. Finally, Mark took Rex to the Dr. Kristopher Sharpe of BluePearl Veterinary Partners and they finally discovered a long, straight object was lodged in Rex’s nose after taking a CT scan.

Sharpe immediately got to work and pulled a 5-inch-long stick out of Rex’s nose, which would have eventually become life threatening if not removed. “I felt like hugging him,” Mark said. “Honestly, I had tears of joy.” And just a few days later, Rex was back to his normal, playful self. “He is an absolute machine when he’s playing.”

“He was just so relieved, as I can only imagine – your dog experiencing discomfort for months and to not know what was causing it,” said the vet’s communication manager Carrie O’Brion said. “He had his dog back; the dog that he knew and loved.”

A Texas mom is traumatized after a man walked up to her shopping cart in a grocery store and tried to snatch her 14-month-old straight from it. 

The chilling ordeal was captured on surveillance video where you can see the mother, Florence Monauer, standing by her cart in a Houston grocery store. She turned to look at an item on the shelf, and a moment later, she heard her shopping cart move. Moonier looked up to see a man pulling her baby out of the cart. “At no point did he talk to me. He never asked me to pick up my baby,” Monauer told CBS affiliate KHOU. “He said the strangest thing….‘I wanted to take you when your mom wasn’t looking.’”

Once the man saw she noticed he was holding the baby, he put the child back into the shopping cart. At first, Monauer wanted to give the man the benefit of the doubt, but after thinking about the incident for hours, she became more and more upset. “I was conditioned to be nice to people,” said the 33-year-old. “I don’t want to falsely accuse someone in case this guy was just awkward and didn’t understand boundaries.”

Later that day, Monauer called the police and filed a report. “For me, the crime of attempting to kidnap someone was completed the moment when he picked up my child with my back turned and without my consent,” she said. “He didn’t have a shopping cart, no merchandise,” Monauer continued. “The more I thought about it, the more creeped out I felt.” Houston Police are investigating the incident as a possible attempted abduction, but the man has yet to be identified or charged with a crime.

Chilling Moment Stranger Tries To Kidnap Baby Right Out Of Shopping Cart is an article from: LifeDaily

When a family found a very injured street dog hiding in the bathroom of their home, they called Animal Aid to rescue him.

As soon as he saw rescuers, the dog’s tail started wagging, as if he had known help had arrived. 

His ear seemed to be in a pain, and after taking a closer look, it was clear his ear had been shredded and eaten away by maggots. Despite all the pain that he was in, the dog’s tail never stopped wagging.

Animal Aid wrapped the dog in a blanket and then sedated him so they could start his treatment. 

They bathed the dog to wash out all the blood and pus in his fur and removed his ear since it was completely necrotic.

The maggots were just a few days away from reaching the dog’s brain, and if rescuers hadn’t arrived when they did, the flesh-eating worms would have killed him. But, today, the dog they named Dylan is doing great and is completely happy and healthy.

Worms Devoured Street Dog’s Ear, But His Spirit Was Unbreakable is an article from: LifeDaily

As hard as it is to comes to terms with a mother rejecting her child, unfortunately, in the animal world, it’s much more common. 

A tiny pit bull puppy was sadly rejected by his mother when he was just one week old. Luckily, a woman found the baby on the street, and just in time, because he was just moments away from being eaten by his own mother. The dog’s paw was already chewed off, and his mom had eaten three of his siblings!

The woman was able to take the dog away from his mother, but without his mom to care for him at such a young age, and with such a bad injury, his future wasn’t looking bright. 

Oddly enough, the woman’s cats adopted the puppy and took him in as their own. 

She named the pit bull Nicholas, and he spent his most critical days in the arms of her loving kittens.

His human also had to feed Nicholas every three hours and changed his bandage every day. 

This was an adjustment for her because Nicholas could only be bottle fed, so his recovery involved many sleepless nights. But after days of around the clock care and lots of help from a few of her cats and 5 other dogs, Nicholas was turning around. 

“The once tiny pup without a paw and a future is one of the best things I have and he will always own a piece of my heart,” his owner said.

Cats Care For 3-Legged Puppy Whose Mom Tried To Eat Him is an article from: LifeDaily

For most couples, flowers are a vital part of their wedding, but Kathryn and Brad Ziemer decided to do without them. 

Instead, this Minnesota couple replaced the flowers at their wedding with bouquets of puppies! 

Being huge animal lovers, the Ziemer’s wanted to highlight the work of Secondhand Hounds, a nonprofit that rescues dogs from high-kill shelters. So instead of flowers, the couple held puppies on their wedding day at a suburban Minneapolis golf club. 

Photographer Alycia Faye, captured the unique wedding, saying it was one of the coolest shoots she’s ever done. She posted the incredible wedding photos on Facebook, which included 13 puppies for each member of the bridal party. 

The decision for Kathryn to pick rescue puppies over flowers was an easy one. She told Fox 9 news, “Well, first-off who doesn’t love puppies? And second, I wanted puppies specifically from Secondhand Hounds. Having puppies at the wedding was so special to me and Brad, but it was more about Secondhand Hounds! This animal rescue is incredible!” 

Kathryn and Brad’s wedding party didn’t know about the puppies until they went outside for group photos and there were 13 pit bull puppies waiting for them. Everyone got a puppy, included the adorable ring bearers and beautiful flower girls.

Instead of party favors, the couple chose to make donations to SecondHand Hounds and another nonprofit. The Ziemer’s were married at Rush Creek Golf Club in Maple Grove, Minnesota on October 15.

Couple Opts For Puppy Bouquets Instead Of Flowers At Their Wedding is an article from: LifeDaily

It seems everywhere we turn, there’s always some kind of ‘sign’ from above making an appearance in somebody’s grilled cheese.

It’s easy to be skeptical of a heavenly ‘grilled cheesus,’ even when it appears to be pretty convincing.

That’s what was captured by Cory Hearon of Camden, South Carolina. The father of three says he was in his car when he looked to the left and saw most incredible sight he’s ever seen in his life.

“I was in shock for the first two minutes, and I thought I better get a video of this so there won’t be any question or doubt about what I saw,” he says.

“I’m absolutely blown away by the reaction,” he says. “I cannot explain the response I’ve received — personal messages, people sharing stories of their life struggles and how the moment they saw the video they thought things are going to be okay. I’ve received messages from France, Brazil, India — all over.”

“Lately, I’ve been working 60-70 hours a week. This couldn’t have come at a better time and other people seem to agree.”

New moms far and wide are going above and beyond the call of duty for the baby of a female police officer whose life was tragically taken soon.

When rookie police officer Lesley Zerebny heard that her fellow officers at the Palm Springs Police Department needed her help, she decided to cut her maternity leave short and get back to the job where she worked for just a year and a half earlier than expected.

Sadly, the loyal 27-year-old officer had no idea she would never get that extra time with her daughter. Zerebny was killed On October 8 by gunfire while responding with two fellow officers to a domestic dispute. Also killed was 63-year-old Jose Gilbert Vega who was planned on retiring just two months before his death.

Zerebny’s husband, a sheriff’s deputy, was left alone with their four-month-old daughter Cora. Knowing the baby would desperately need a mother’s milk, a local mom decided to contact the slain officer’s family to see if she could donate some milk… and a campaign took off from there, with more than one year’s worth of breast milk being donated by new mothers.

Whenever parents hear there is a bully at their child’s school, they are quick to assume the child has bad parents or is a bad person, but one Australian mom insists it’s not always that simple.

Mother-of-two Sonia Buckley has heard parents and teachers call her son Billy a bully, and while she knows he can be cruel and that those accusations are mostly all true, she knows it’s not because of her parenting or because he’s a bad person. Instead, Billy suffers from a variety of severe behavioral disorders, which make normal social interactions impossible.

“You may think he’s a bully. He may have said some nasty things or even hurt your child, and for that I’m truly sorry,” Sonia reads in a video she shared on her Facebook, which has been viewed 64,000 times. “From a very young age Billy has suffered from ADHD, ODD, intellectual learning disability and severe behavioral disorder.”

Originally, Sonia hoped the school would share her letter with the rest of the parents at school, but when they refused, she decided to share her message through Facebook. “Billy interprets everything very differently to what most people would. People think Billy is a bully… but Billy doesn’t understand the world and the world doesn’t understand him,” Sonia said. “If Billy doesn’t understand he may react. It’s so sad to see your child not invited to birthday parties or sleepovers…it breaks my heart. Billy comes home crying most days saying he has no friends and hates school.”

Sonia hopes that in sharing her message, more people will be more understanding of Billy, who she says can understand as much as a fourth-grade child, and other kids who are different yet look just like a healthy child. “Please help me make a difference to help children that struggle every day.”

Mom Goes Viral After Defending Her Son, The School Bully is an article from: LifeDaily

During natural disasters, animal rescue teams are often working overtime to save animals in dire situations after being trapped or left behind, but one rescue team was heartbroken when they realized a dog had survived an entire hurricane in a sewage hole.

After Hurricane Matthew hit the Bahamas, the Bahamas Humane Society got a call from a local woman who kept hearing faint cries from somewhere near her home, and when the team went to investigate, they realized a poor dog had been trapped in raw sewage and had likely survived the entire storm from that drain.

“We found him right after the storm,” said Lissa McCombe from the Humane Society. “It was amazing he survived the flooding.” Ventoi Bethune quickly got to work getting the dog, named Matthew after the storm he weathered, out of the overflowing drain.

Matthew was extremely underweight, had scrapes and cuts on his body, and his limbs were swollen from being in the water for days. But despite his condition, he was so happy to be rescued. “As we brought him into our shelter, he started to wag his tail,” McCombe said.

The team immediately gave Matthew a bath once back at the shelter, gave him medical treatment, and finally gave him plenty of food so he can start healing from such a traumatic experience.

Heroes Rescue Dog Who Was Trapped In Raw Sewage During Hurricane is an article from: LifeDaily

On a child’s first day at school, many parents are understandably nervous for their kids, and hope that when they get home, they have nothing but good things to say about their classmates and teachers.

However, one Georgia mom decided to rush her 13-year-old son to the hospital when he came home from his first day of seventh grade at the Edgewood Student Services Center, which takes students who have been removed from their regular schools because of disruptive behavior, and told her he could no longer walk after what a teacher did to him.

According to the family’s lawyers, Montravious Thomas had tried to leave class on September 12 to call mom Lawanda, but was stopped by Bryant Mosley, a behaviour specialist, who physically restrained him, lifted him up off the ground, and then slammed him onto the ground three times.

At one point, the school’s assistant principal saw what was going on, but did nothing to stop the abuse. And instead of calling an ambulance or Lawanda to report what had happened, Mosley picked the boy up and put him on his school bus since he couldn’t walk. “We don’t know the extent that the injuries were worsened by the failure to render aid and certainly by picking him up and seating him on the school bus,” Renee Tucker said. “Then they had him ride in that same school bus home without any support or stabilization of that leg.”

When Lawanda saw her son try to walk, she immediately brought him to the hospital, where they then airlifted him to an Atlanta hospital and discovered the 13-year-old had such severe nerve damage that his leg would have to be amputated. “My client is certainly aware of the situation and naturally, he’s emotional,’ Tucker said. “Doctors talked to him and his mother on Sunday and told him they were having to take his leg since they were unable to improve the flow of blood to his lower leg. Right now we are all concerned for his long-term health.”

Expecting moms are often warned of several less-than-desirable side effects of having a baby like incontinence and fluctuating hormones, but few, if any, are ever warned that having a baby may cause an extremely rare form of cancer.

Which is why one UK mother of three was completely stunned when she found out that her last pregnancy had caused her to develop a life-threatening disease. After the birth of her youngest child, Layla, 26-year-old Ashley Shaw had a feeling that something was wrong when her period hadn’t returned to normal, but her concerns were repeatedly brushed off by doctors.

Layla had been born eight weeks early after doctors discovered that the placenta had mysteriously died, but Ashley was allowed to take her home in just a few weeks. Just as Ashley started to stop worrying about her baby’s health, her own health became a concern. “In the months after Layla arrived in October 2014, I had this strange feeling that something just wasn’t right,” Ashley explained. “My periods hadn’t returned to normal and I felt generally off. For months I begged my GP for tests, but it wasn’t until I had my routine smear in February this year that I was diagnosed with the tumor.” Further tests finally diagnosed her with a placental site trophoblastic tumor, a rare form of cancer caused by the cells that attach the placenta to the womb.

“My periods hadn’t returned to normal and I felt generally off. For months I begged my GP for tests, but it wasn’t until I had my routine smear in February this year that I was diagnosed with the tumor.” Further tests finally diagnosed her with a placental site trophoblastic tumor, a rare form of cancer caused by the cells that attach the placenta to the womb.

“When I discovered it was a direct result of being pregnant with Layla I couldn’t believe it. I’d never heard of this happening before,” Ashley said. “At first I didn’t understand how being pregnant with Layla could have caused this. But, as I did more research things started to make sense. It was no wonder my placenta had failed if the tumor had already started growing. It was a miracle Layla was even alive.”

Ashley agreed to have a hysterectomy immediately so that the cancer couldn’t spread.“I felt like a terrible mother as I couldn’t be there for my children while I was recovering, and having no womb left me feeling like less of a woman,” said Ashley who is now completely healed and sharing her story to warn other moms. “Now I want to raise awareness for other mums, as this cancer is so rare. If I can inspire just one woman to keep nagging her doctor when she notices something isn’t right, it will be worth it.”

6th Grader Soils Himself Because Teacher Wouldn’t Let Him Use Bathroom is an article from: LifeDaily

Even if you are in a rush (especially if you are in a rush, in fact), never try to pass a stopped school bus.

Three children in Louisville, Kentucky have been injured by an SUV that tried to pass a stopped school bus on Thursday morning, according to local news.

William Mayes, the uncle of two of the three children, said his niece was going into surgery to try to stop her bleeding. He also said his nephew suffered a broken leg as a result of the incident.

Louisville Metro Police Department spokesman Dwight Mitchell said the driver of the SUV ran a stoplight and tried to pass a JCPS bus at 32nd and Dumesnil Streets about 8:00 Thursday morning. The bus was stopped with its lights flashing when the incident happened. The children were on the sidewalk either in the process of boarding the bus or waiting at a bus stop, Jefferson County Public Schools spokeswoman Allison Martin said.
