A dog would do anything for their family, and when one four-year-old little boy was about to be run over by a van, the brave family dog jumped in front of his human brother’s way and  shielded him from harm.

At around 6:00 pm this past Tuesday, a Michigan single dad was crossing the street with his two kids and their dog Piper. However, just as they were about to cross, a minivan came plowing through the intersection. Yet before the van got to the family, Piper jumped in the way to protect her loved ones.

Four-year-old Sid was still injured in the hit and run, but would have died if not for Piper. “I heard him screaming so I knew he was alive, which was a relief,” said dad Dave Badham. “I wanted to console him but I couldn’t deal with the whole top of his head flapped open, I could see his skull.” And in all the panic Badham didn’t see Piper run off, and feared that she was dead.

Badham had no choice but to rush Sid to the hospital, where doctors determined the little boy was in fair condition and Badham realized how much Piper did for them. “If it weren’t for that dog, my son would be dead right now,” said Badham. “The dog went underneath the vehicle and hit Sid and laid him down on top of the vehicle, if it weren’t for that dog that would have been my son under the tire.”

For days the family thought Piper was gone, but she miraculously showed up on the front porch of the family’s neighbor, who previously owned Piper. “When I got home she was happy to see everybody and all excited it was just amazing that she is not that hurt is what gets me,” said neighbor Trisha Warnicke, who plans on reuniting Piper with Sid once he is released from the hospital.

There is speculation that this video was edited, but we want you to be the judge. 

In this insane video, a railway worker apparently risked his life to save a cyclist who had no idea he was about to get hit by an oncoming train. 

The man, who was probably drunk, stumbles and falls as he crosses a single railway track with his bike. 

He then slowly gets up and throws the bike to the other side, completely unaware that a train is approaching. 

Right before the horror is about to unfold, a rail worker, wearing orange overalls, starts sprinting towards the man and pushes him out of the way just in the knick of time. 

The pair let face down on the side of the tracks as the train passes by them, and another rail worked is seemed running over to his colleague. 

He inspects both men to see if they are hurt, and it doesn’t appear that either suffered any injuries.

Hero Rail Worker Saves Drunk Man From Oncoming Train is an article from: LifeDaily

When a high school student learned that a little boy was getting bullied at his school in, he had flashbacks to his childhood.

Chris Kuykendall is a senior and football star at Hobbs High School in New Mexico. While he may be popular now, he experienced his share of bullying when he was younger, which is something no child should ever have to go through. 

When Chris remembered the pain and suffering he felt as a victim of bullying, he knew he wanted to make a difference in Ryan’s life. “It just hit home. I remembered how I felt when I was getting bullied. It just fired me up. I wanted to change that right then and there. I didn’t want him to go another day, wake up another day, feeling like he didn’t need to go to school,” Chris told Meredith Vieira.

So, Chris invited Ryan to have lunch with him, so that everyone could see he was friends with the cool, older kids. It also happened to be an indirect message to Ryan’s bullies to back off. 

It was no surprise that after that day Ryan’s bully wasn’t tormenting him anymore. And seeing how effective Chris’s efforts were, he, along with friend and fellow athlete Brevin Young, started a program at their school to help other children who were victims of bullying.

Called the Eagle Buddies program, the group pairs older athletes with bullied kids to help give them a boost of confidence and to have someone besides their family that they can talk to. Meredith Vieira recognized the boys’ incredible efforts and had all three of them on her show to talk about Eagle Buddies. She even surprises them with a really generous gift at the end!

While nine of those bombers were halted, one was not. The man charged the troops and when it appeared everything was lost for Cierpica, Ollis stepped in and saved the man’s life.

Soldier Names Newborn After The Hero Who Gave His Life So He Could Be A Father is an article from: LifeDaily

On Halloween night, a puppy was thrown out of a moving vehicle by evil people and left to die in a horror more terrifying than fiction.

Luckily, two women spotted the helpless dog crying and alone, and wrapped him in a blanket and brought him to the Albany Police Station. 

One of the officers Jon-David Hill called animal control who said that they wouldn’t be able to do anything for the injured dog and they’d have to put him down. Hill could not allow this to happen, so he decided to adopt the dog, named him Jack and took him to a 24-hour animal hospital. 

“I didn’t think it was fair,” Hill told Inside Edition. “I didn’t want his life to be pain and suffering and just be over. I was the right officer at that moment.”

Sadly, the vets told Hill that Jack’s leg injury was old and that the best option was to get one of his legs amputated. After his surgery, Jack only has three legs, but he isn’t different than any other dog. 

“He’s now playing ball, he’s moving around really well, he’s able to jump on the couch,” Hill told Inside Edition. “He’s nervous when he first meets people, but once he can smell you, he automatically starts licking everybody.”

Santa Claus at the Regency Mall in Wisconsin knows just how to include all children in the spirit of Christmas.

The good-hearted Santa is surprising hearing-impaired children with his ability to use sign language. “I want every child to have a very special experience sitting here with me. Some of the children who can’t hear — I can sign to them as well,” Santa told Fox 6 News.

He is working to make sure children of all ages and abilities have a wonderful Christmas. “I ask them — what do you want for Christmas?” Santa said.

Many of the children are surprised to learn that Santa knows Sign Language, and it makes them feel included and connected. “The children appreciate the idea that they can come and talk to me, talk to Santa without having to go through their parents or their siblings to interpret for them,” he continued.

But kids aren’t the only ones touched by Santa knowing Sign Language, “I had one mother who was deaf herself back there and she cried because it is her first time as an adult she had ever seen Santa sign for her child,” Santa recalls.

Now, there’s even a mailbox outside of Santa’s home at the Regency Mall, where kids can write a letter to Santa, and communicate with him however they chose. This way, all children are included. “I like to get lists, and if you can`t spell the word, draw me a picture,” says Santa.

Parents are supposed to keep their children out of harm’s way, not put them in it, which is why what one Bolivian mom did to her daughter while waiting for a train is so horrifying.

In footage captured from a train station’s CCTV, a mom and her 10-year-old daughter are seen standing on a platform at a busy train station in Buenos Aires. To save some money, the woman climbs down onto the tracks and planned on walking down the tracks past a ticket barrier and climbing back onto the platforms once beyond the barrier so they wouldn’t have to buy tickets.

However, seconds after they climb down, the mother spots a train heading their way. Instead of sacrificing herself and throwing her daughter up onto the platform, she leaves the 10-year-old behind and climbs up to safety just before the train rushed past.

A shocked crowd gathered and was convinced the little girl was crushed by the train, but thankfully, the small girl managed to press her body into a small alcove in the platform wall and was completely unharmed and lifted out to safety

Gustavo initially thought of the idea five years ago, and thanks to their helpful family and friends, he was finally able to pull off the incredible surprise for his childhood sweetheart.

Mercedes knew there was going to be a wedding that day. However, she thought she would be attending a friend’s wedding as a guest. However, when she arrived at the church, she discovered her entire family and friends waiting for her to tell her the fantastic news.

At first, Mercedes is completely stunned but quickly bursts into tears as her friends place a veil on her head and her father starts walking her down the aisle. And when she makes it to the alter and meets her soon-to-be husband, she still can’t get words out as she starts to realize what Gustavo has done fully.

So when one Australian man saw a wild kangaroo attacking his dog, he knew he had to act quickly to save his beloved pet since his dog didn’t stand a chance against a threatened kangaroo and its deadly kick.

Without thinking, the brave man sprinted toward the kangaroo, who had his dog in a headlock, and it luckily released its grip on the dog when it saw a larger opponent running over. However, with its arms free, the massive animal was ready to fight.

Before the kangaroo could attack, the man managed to get a solid punch to the animal’s face, which thankfully scared it away before anyone got seriously hurt.

Brave Man Takes On A Fully-Grown Kangaroo To Save His Dog is an article from: LifeDaily

Wild animals like coyotes are extremely shy and often afraid of humans, which is why one sick and injured coyote ran from a team of rescuers for three long days.

After a coyote that appeared to be sick was spotted at an Ottawa, Canada golf course, The Rideau Valley Wildlife Sanctuary immediately went out and set traps to help catch him. Yet even though the coyote, who had been hit by a car, was struggling to walk, he managed to escape the traps for three days.

Thankfully, however, the team managed to catch him just in time on the third day. “He was in really rough shape when he first came to us,” said Sarah Beauregard, animal care coordinator from the sanctuary. “We didn’t think he would make it through the first night.”

After being hit by a car, the coyote was suffering from a broken pelvis and had a severe case of sarcoptic mange, a skin parasite that destroyed his fur and would have made it impossible to survive the cold winter. “The thing that really gets me is his eyes,” Beauregard says. “Even when he was at his worst, there was a brightness and hopefulness about them.”

“He is a sweetheart. Coyotes are shy and timid by nature, but he seems to trust us and know that we are trying to help him.” And since gaining back strength from his treatment, he hasn’t stopped smiling for the people who he now knows saved him. Eventually, the team hopes to return him to the wild when he is strong enough, so they have to be careful to not spend too much time with the friendly animal. “We are keeping human contact to an absolute minimum so that he does not grow attached to humans,” Beauregard said.

Coyote Can’t Stop Smiling After Rescuers Bring Him Back To Life is an article from: LifeDaily

Craig Vaughan was devastated when his Cocker Spaniel and her five puppies were stolen from their kennel on Tuesday, November 29 at Vaughan’s farm.

Thieves had apparently unscrewed a door of the kennels beside Vaughan’s farm near Yarm, Teesside, and stole 2-year-old Dora and her first litter.

Completely distraught, Vaughan posted on social media for help and his story wound up being shared hundreds of times all around the country. This public outcry meant that whoever stole them could not sell them due to all the publicity they received.

Following the social media, on Wednesday evening Vaughan was ecstatic to share the good news that Dora and her puppies were returned to him. He told ITV News that a third party had seen the story and managed to get the dogs back on his behalf.

Vaughan, who was milking cows when he received the call says, “Someone has done me a massive favor and he wouldn’t take any money from me for them. “The dogs are fine, they don’t look any worse for what has happened. They have been fed and they are fine.

Still, in disbelief, Vaughan continued to say, “I cannot believe I have got them back, it just goes to show you cannot beat the Great British Public. “Whoever took them must have seen all the publicity and thought ‘we’ll never get rid of them’. They are back safe and they are in the house, they are not in the kennels, and they are staying here.”

Monsters Stole Dog And Her Five Pups But A Miracle Brought Them Home is an article from: LifeDaily

The African rhinoceros is an incredible creature whose ancestors can be traced back 30 million years, but sadly, rhinos are becoming closer and closer to extinction each year.

The number of rhinos being murdered by poachers has steadily increased since 2008, but thankfully there are heroes out there like the team at The Care for Wild Africa Rhino Sanctuary in South Africa, who save hundreds each year.

In the following video, their team of heroes and animal loving volunteers come together to help an 8-month-old female calf in the Mpumalanga region, whose mother was murdered just a few days earlier. The baby was found by an anti-poaching unit who noticed that it had been shot in its front left leg and called for help.

“A search and rescue team was deployed, however due to heavy rain the spoor (tracks) of the rhino calf was washed away. The small calf had also run to a section of the reserve where there was extremely thick bush that hindered the ability of the pilots who were scouting from the air,” Working With Rhinos

“Nevertheless, extra trackers were called in from a neighboring farm to help in the search. Incredibly, nearly 8 days after the poaching incident and with hope fading that the calf may not survive, the helicopter called to say they had spotted it. Petronel, Veterinarian Dr. Albertus Coetzee and the reserves anti-poaching unit immediately set out to find and sedate the calf. The orphaned rhino was then transported immediately to the Care for Wild Africa Rhino Sanctuary and is undergoing treatment for the bullet wound.”

Team Rushes To Rescue Baby Rhino From Evil Poachers is an article from: LifeDaily

You’ve heard about maternity ward mix-ups in the past, but for the most part, they just sound like an old wive’s tale. However, the following story shows just how easily a newborn baby fall into a trap of mistaken identity and be misplaced by hospital staffers.

Tammy Van Dyke of Apple Valley, Minneapolis has filed a lawsuit against Allina Health System’s Abbott Northwestern Hospital after a December 2012 mix up caused her newborn son Cody Stepp to be handed over to a different new mother.

The mom says the mixup that led to her baby boy being breastfed by a complete stranger caused her “unnecessary medical treatment, tests and expenses, and severe mental injury and emotional pain and suffering.”

Abbott revealed they had made a terrible mistake in the statement and ensured that they no such mix-up will ever occur again. “While hospital procedures require staff to match codes on the infants’ and mothers’ identification bands in order to prevent incidents like this, it appears these procedures were not followed in this case,” the statement said.

The lawsuit revealed that Van Dyke’s newborn son Cody was wearing three hospital ID bracelets with the proper identification on his ankle, so the late-night mistake should not have happened.

The now 44-year-old mother also had to have her baby tested so that he was not exposed to any infectious diseases. Documents state that Van Dyke seeks more than $50,000 and whatever other compensation a court deems suitable.

Rescue Seeks Forever Home For Dog Who Was Returned Just One Hour After Adoption is an article from: LifeDaily

Hero the pit bull has not had an easy life in North Georgia, but his injuries and loneliness didn’t stop him from saving a woman’s life… and earning his name!

According to KREM, a woman was about to be attacked by a man when Hero stepped in to save her. Sadly, Hero was stabbed five times by the man for stepping in, but luckily, he was able to save the woman’s life.

The crazy part is that Hero didn’t even know the woman, but his protective instincts kicked in and he immediately put himself between the attacker and the victim. When police arrived, they were able to transport Hero to the vet, where he received emergency surgery.

The founder and director of Fighting for the Bully’s Pit Bull Rescue, Carla Welch said that the pup almost bled out: “They almost lost him but he got there in the nick of time.”

Hero almost died twice during surgery since his attacker inflicted such deep wounds, but Hero pulled through. If it wasn’t for the timely intervention of the officers, Hero probably wouldn’t have made it.

But when Carla Welch heard his story, she took him into her rescue. Through online fundraising, she was able to organize support to pay for Hero’s medical costs, and everyone agrees that Hero was very courageous and brave.

Welch says that after everything Hero went through, the 7-year-old pit bull will be a great addition to anyone’s family. “Hero will get his second chance,” Welch said. “He will get a fantastic family, and he will finally get his happily ever after.”

A newborn baby who had a very rough start to life must have an angel watching over him or her.

In a video with very little background information, we see the disturbing moment a newborn baby is discovered on the side of a road wrapped up in a black garbage bag and left for dead.

Although the clip’s country of origin is unknown, it is believed to have been filmed in China or the Philippines, and it’s probably safe to say that the newborn was born to people mentally, physically, and  financially unfit to be parents. After all, how else could anyone abandon a newborn in such a horrific way?

The infant was so young that his or her umbilical cord and placenta were still attached. In the clip, you can see passerby stop in disbelief for the baby, who they were surprised to see was even still alive.

Police Nab Crooks Who Broke Into Convenience Store With Fowl Accomplice is an article from: LifeDaily

An adventurous dog from Barrhaven got himself into an icy situation on Tuesday morning when he found himself trapped on his family’s roof.

The dog was home alone and found a broken window in the townhome’s second floor, and hopped out. According to emergency responders, the dog tore through the window’s screen which gave it access to outside. 

Once the dog reached the roof it panicked and couldn’t re-enter the home, and that’s when it started barking loudly for help. Neighbors called the Ottawa Fire Service which sent firefighters to the scene to assist the animal. 

Crews arrived to find the dog backed up against the house to avoid slipping off the icy roof and onto the road. According to Danielle Cardinal, OFS spokeswoman, initially the responders try coercing the dog back into the home through the window, but they were unsuccessful. 

Eventually, the animal moved close enough to the open window for firefighters to grab it and pull it inside. The shock of being grabbed caused the dog to lash out, biting on of his rescuers, although the man was not injured. 

Police have now attempted to locate the homeowners and inform them of the incident.

Scared Dog Bites Firefighter Trying To Rescue Him From Roof is an article from: LifeDaily

A man in the UK held two Amazon delivery truck drivers hostage after a bizarre mix-up over a mattress. Dean Smith, from Tavistock, held the Panther Group delivery staff hostage at the side of a country road after missing the 10 am delivery of his mattress.

The mattress was right there, but the delivery men said they would return tomorrow.

A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesperson confirmed officers were called to deal with the incident, and the mattress was handed over upon their arrival. Apparently, no further action was required for the situation to be resolved.
