It was a terrifying moment when two young siblings were playing in the park and a strange man picked up their youngest brother and ran off.

The Wright siblings, 8-year-old Delia and 10-year-old Brenden remember that day very vividly, and they did what any child might be too afraid to do.

According to a witness, Dorothy Giddings, both Delicia and Brenden ran after the kidnapper, and Delicia began screaming her head off. Her loud screams captured the attention of two teenage boys, who also went running after the child and trying to chase the kidnapper away.

Delicia said, “I felt really, really scared that he took him. He said, ‘I’m good with kids, babysitting.’ He sounded nice, but he was really not nice.”

The kidnapper wound up leaving 22-month-old Owen in an empty lot and ran off. The video of the incident has led to the arrest of the 15-year-old who lives in the town of Sprague, Washington, where the kidnapping occurred.

The story made local news and the father of the children, Michael Wright tells Inside Edition that he left his children in the care of a family friend who thought they would be safe in the park near her house. “I don’t blame her, it was an honest mistake, small town scenario.”

Now, both siblings are being rewarded with $100 each and a letter thanking them for their bravery.

Michael Wright is especially proud of his kids, saying, “How precious for your kids to do the right things on an everyday basis, especially the love that they have for the little siblings.”

It’s incredible how the natural instincts of these kids kicked in, and they were able to save their brother, who they may have never seen again.

It was one Wisconsin family’s worse nightmare when their toddler disappeared in a cornfield on Saturday afternoon.

Three-year-old Dyton Logalbo was playing in the backyard on Saturday afternoon as his mom was gardening. Dyton wound up walking into a nearby cornfield just behind his home, and his mom looked up just in time to watch him disappear into the thousands of stalks.

According to the Lenglade County Sheriff’s Office, Dyton’s mom tried to call her son and searched the field high and low for him, but when she was unsuccessful, she called the police department.

Sheriff Bill Greening told Inside Edition that they put together a search team to find the boy, which included helicopters, drones, volunteer workers, fire department officials, and search dogs. Over 600 volunteers showed up to help find the missing child and the search spanned over the next two days.

“I was relatively confident he was in the cornfield,” Greening told InsideEdition.com. “I felt confident once we had enough personnel that we’d ultimately be able to find him.” Greening describes finding the boy was like “finding a needle in a haystack.”

“It was very dense and very difficult to search in those areas,” Greening said about field that was reportedly more than 100 acres, with corn stalks standing at more than seven feet tall. “We had to almost step on the child to find him, it was so thick.”

According to WSAW, more than 20 hours after Dyton disappeared, a volunteer stumbled upon the boy sitting cross-legged between the stalks.

“We were walking the cornfield for about two and a half hours and so after that, everything starts to look like corn cobs and corn stalks,” Tom Andraschko, the volunteer who found the boy, told WSAW. “Once we got a little closer you could tell it was arms and legs. So, I was about 20 feet away and that’s when I took off running. I knew for sure it was him then.”

“He was cold, and wet and scared,” Greening told InsideEdition.com. “But overall, he was in good health.” Rescuers gave Dyton juice and granola bars before he was taken to the hospital. Luckily, Dyton was in good health and he was released from the hospital just hours later.

In the emotional video below, you will see Dyton reunited with his family, who were all in tears!

The holidays are a time of gratitude, love, and going out of our way to do kind things for others.

A Best Buy on Long Island is showing everyone exactly what the holiday season is truly about when their employees pooled money together to buy one sweet teen a $300 WiiU for Christmas.

The video below, which was posted to YouTube by manager Rahiem Storr, shows employees walking over to a kid playing a demo WiiU in the store. According to sources, the boy had been coming in every day after school to play games on the unit, so the employees decided to do something about it.

[Instagram]
[Instagram]
They could have banned him from the store and had security prevent him from ever returning, but they instead decided to buy him a WiiU unit of his own.

The boy, according to Storr, has two ‘very loving’ parents who couldn’t afford to buy him the coveted gaming system. That’s why the store employees took care of it for him and even told him he could come back to hang and continue playing the game in the store whenever he wanted.

“I’m serious. It’s your Christmas present,” one of the employees say in the video below.

At first, the young man declined the generous offer, but eventually he accepted the gift and allowed workers to drive him home to get a head start on the holidays.

Kudos to Best Buy for spreading holiday cheer! This is how you make the world a better place. If you are proud of these employees too and think a story like this should be spread, please SHARE with friends and family.

Marine Rescues A Dog Tied To A Dumpster Like Trash

The men and women in the armed forces dedicate their lives to protecting the innocent, and when one off-duty Marine saw an innocent dog tied up to a dumpster one cold night, he knew he had to save it.

Jaryd Horsley had just gotten home from work at about 2:30 a.m. and as he was walking inside his home, he noticed an exhausted dog tied up tightly to a nearby dumpster. “I heard a growl and she was tied up. The leash was wrapped around her neck and tied to the Dumpster. The leash was so short she was choking if she tried to sit down,” said Horsley. “Waiting for the trash to come pick her up, that’s what it seemed like. It’s rough. Who would do this to an innocent puppy?” asked Horsley.

“He came into the house and let me know the situation,” said Jessica Vargas, Horsley’s fianceé. “I grabbed some chicken that I had cooked for dinner, and we went to look for the dog. I used my phone to light the way. She was abandoned. The heartless person that left her in the dark on a cold night of December made sure that she could not escape, and that she was hidden.”

After feeding the starving dog, they could sense that she started to trust them more, and carefully untied her and brought her inside. “She was so malnourished and was missing fur from different parts of her body. She seemed to have a bad skin rash and infection,” Vargas said. The next morning, the couple brought the dog they named Pheobe to the vet, and found out that she did have a bad skin infection and was also suffering from a heart murmur that would kill her without treatment.

Horsley and Vargas are determined to keep Phoebe, but her treatment will cost thousands of dollars, which the couple doesn’t have and decided to start a GoFundMe to raise the money.”I just want her to be happy, be comfortable and have good life, no matter how long it is,” said Horsley. So far, they have raised more than $3,400 of their $1,700 goal.

Parents trust that their child will be safely looked after by the school’s faculty, and that’s especially true for parents with disabled children since they often don’t understand dangerous situations.

After an autistic boy sprinted out of his New York City school in 2013, the Department of Education spent $5.5 million putting door alarms in 1,200 New York schools and training staff to monitor unlocked exits, which is why Asmaa Awawda believed her 6-year-old son with autism would be safe at school.

Yet even after Awawda warned the school about her son Ibrahim and how he needs constant supervision, he managed to run straight out the door without setting off a single alarm since the school had disabled them out of convenience. “I told them my son can’t be left alone because he’s a runner,” Awawda said.

And when the school bus arrived at 3 p.m., the bus driver was told Ibrahim had been picked up by his mother. To be sure, he called Awawda who panicked when she heard her son was missing. Luckily, however, off-duty police officer Christian Lopez was home in his apartment and heard a little boy in the hallway trying to open doors. He looked out his door, and realized the boy opened the door to the roof and followed him up.

He found the 6-year-old leaning over the ledge of the building and quickly grabbed him and pulled him to safety. Soon after, his terrified mother arrived and burst into tears when she was reunited with him. “They just started crying and hugging him and thanking me,” Lopez said. “Thank God he found my son!” cried Awawda, who is now looking to switch Ibrahim’s school.

There’s nothing better than receiving an early Christmas present, especially when that gift contains the best surprise you could ever ask for.

For a couple of kids from Missouri, that special delivery arrived on November 30. The box was huge, wrapped in red paper, and topped with a big bow, but it’s what was inside that was the best part of all.

[KFVS]
[KFVS]
The cautious kids approached the present like it was a wild animal. They weren’t sure if they should unwrap it or run far away. After all, a present of that size might contain something scary. However, it contained nothing of the sort, because before they even had the chance to tear the paper, their own papa popped up from the top.

[KFVS]
[KFVS]
The toddlers were blown away to see their father, who for months, has been serving overseas in Afghanistan. It’s surprises like these that really warm our heart this holiday season. The family was reunited and whole again, even if just for a short amount of time.

Sheryl Hayes has been sick for years. A running nose, fatigue, and eye problems are all just pains in life that she’s learned to live with.

However, a doctor may have stumbled upon the cause of her illness and it’s nothing like she expected. Due to a urinalysis testing at Saint Luke’s Medical Center, doctors discovered the chocking cause behind her symptoms was mold growing inside her sinuses.

[ShutterStock]
[ShutterStock]
Hayes always had her suspicions that something was off inside her apartment complex, however, it continued to test negative for mold. The true cause lay in a place she lived previously. Hayes must have picked up spores from that location and carried the sickness around with her for years.

“We aren’t trying to scare people but if they see a mold problem they should have addressed. If they’ve been exposed to mold in the past five, 10 or even 15 years ago and now they are sick, they should consider that still could be the problem of their current symptoms,” Dr. Mike Brewer said.

[Cleveland 19 News]
[KCTV5]
Hayes now has a treatment plan that will last six months to a year and hopefully clear her current problems.

What do you make of this peculiar case? Tell us your thoughts in the comments and please SHARE with friends and family.

An Indianapolis, IN mother had the scare of her lifetime when a man and woman broke into her home and threatened to steal her baby.

According to WISH-TV, Nayeli Garzon-Jimenez said she was home with her baby while her husband was at work when something terrifying occurred. Garzon-Jimenez was on the phone when someone shattered the glass on the door and reached their hand inside to gain access to the kitchen.

From there, the intruder demanded money from the hysterical mother, but Garzon-Jimenez repeatedly said she didn’t have any money. That’s when the woman grabbed the 3-month-old baby and fled to the backdoor. However, she wasn’t expecting to be met by a protective pit bull who doesn’t take kindly to criminals.

Fortunately, with the dog’s intervention, the baby was unharmed and Garzon-Jimenez only suffered a minor head injury. She was treated for cuts and bruises at the hospital and soon released.

Now, police are searching for the suspects who are described as “a black man around 35 years old, 6-foot-2, heavy set with light skin, a close-cut beard and acne scars” and “a black woman in her mid-20s about 5-foot-10, heavy build with braided hair pulled back in a ponytail” and “two lip piercings and an eyebrow piercing.”

This year, the Humane Society’s annual holiday fundraiser is doing something different and adding dogs as dancers in their production of The Nutcracker.

The show, performed by the Birmingham Ballet, has been performed for the past five years, but this version called the “Mutt-Cracker” was a near sellout last Friday.

The performance featured not only a dog Pig, but also a black Great Dane, a spaniel, and a pack of pugs.

All of the dogs had to audition for the show and go through intense training, just as the ballet dancers had to.

But, the most impressive performance of all, goes to Pig, a 3-year-old dog who suffers from a condition called short-spine syndrome.

This border collie mix may be classified as a disabled dog, but you would never know that by watching her pirouettes.

“We love having her in the show. She was perfect for the [role],” Cindy Free, director of the Birmingham Ballet told Inside Edition. “She’s a petite, dainty package of joy.”

Pig, who wears a pink tutu dances on stage next to the Sugar Plum Fairy, working her hunched back like no other. “She has been working on her pirouettes since last year, and she’s gotten them pretty well,” Free said, “especially if you offer her bacon-chicken strips.”

Free says that the “Mutt-Cracker” came about when she became inspired by a ballerina dancing with her dog.

“I said, ‘That looks fun,’ because I do love dogs,” Free said. “People were putting dogs in the opening scene like they’re taking them for a walk, [so] we auditioned dogs.”

Their first production featured 17 dogs with unique talents, including dancing on hind legs and jumping through hoops. Now, the “Mutt-Cracker’s” cast has grown to include 29 dogs, and a portion of every ticket goes to the Greater Birmingham Humane Society.

Man Stages Fake Police Standoff To Propose To His Girlfriend

One Alabama man enlisted the help of an unlikely source to propose to his longtime girlfriend: his local police department.

Daiwon McPherson met his girlfriend Shawna Blackmon back in 2010, and while their relationship hasn’t always been perfect, they have shared some precious memories.

“I thought it was over with. I thought like, I lost my family. I thought it was really over,” McPherson told Fox 6 NewsBut the couple eventually came together again, McPherson saying, “I love that she pushes me to be a better person.”

On Friday night, Dec. 9, McPherson was supposed to meet Blackmon downtown, but he was pulled over by police while riding his motorcycle. “I was scared. I said he was going to jail. They are going to shoot him,” Blackmon said.

Blackmon received a call that McPherson had been pulled over by police and drove to the scene. When she arrived, her boyfriend was on the ground with police officers pointing tasers at him, and in that moment, Blackmon knew she had to do something to diffuse the situation.

“Me getting out and seeing that I felt like I can fix this. Let me try to fix this and let me calm the situation down and let it work,” Blackmon said. But, just as Blackmon was fearing for her boyfriend’s life, he pulled out a ring and proposed.

“First thing you’re going to think is we got another black man going to get killed by two police officers. Nope — that was the whole flip!” McPherson said.

McPherson staged the entire thing, and the officers were in on it, doing their best to make it a perfect proposal for the couple. The officers were unarmed and had unloaded tasers the entire time.

“I felt like that was the perfect set-up — to do something like that and bring everybody together,” Blackmon said. As a result, the community was brought closer together, sending the message that police and communities can work together.

Of course, the fake chase did the trick, and Blackmon said “yes.”

The husband of the woman whose party he was attending was also a firefighter, and Wimmer told Inside Edition: “We were there cutting out the cake and stuff and a couple of people started coming up to us talking about how they were dizzy. People were generally not feeling well. We started talking back and forth a little bit and he asked me, ‘are you thinking what I’m thinking?’”

Both of the men were thinking carbon monoxide. They evacuated the restaurant and all 30 people that were at the dinner party and Wimmer quickly called the Lewisville Fire Department where he works.

Once they arrived, they tested the restaurant for carbon monoxide, and it came back positive. “In our training, they teach us if you respond to a call and there’s a bunch of people having the same symptoms of headaches and stuff like that, test for CO,” said Wimmer.

“Me and Ricky were there at the right time. We were able to pick up on all of this,” he continued. “I’m glad we were there because you know there was some kids in there and I don’t want anything bad happening.”

The restaurant released a statement to their Facebook regarding the incident:

A rescue team in India managed to save the life of an endangered leopard that was about to drown at the bottom of a 60ft deep well.

The lion was actually a 3-year-old female Indian leopard and a local farmer heard her roars from deep inside the well in his village near Pune in Maharashtra.

Rumble/WildlifeSOS.org

Once he looked down and spotted the leopard, he called the State Forest Department who then warned the Manikdoh Leopard Rescue run by NGO Wildlife SOS that a leopard was in danger.

Crews gathered to help save the poor animal. They lowered a wooden log so she could stay afloat before placing a box trap down where the leopard would hopefully walk into.

After three hours, the exhausted leopard finally entered the box trap voluntarily, and she was carefully lifted out of the deep well.

After the rescue, she received a physical exam at the Leopard Rescue Centre, and once given a clean bill of health, the leopard was able to be released.

According to the video on rumble.com, “Ramesh Kharmale, a forester working in the district in which the leopard was found, explained that there are a lot of open wells in his district. He said: “Most of them do not have proper nets, so there is always a risk that animals get trapped inside such wells.”

There are only an estimated 12 to 14,000 Indian leopards left in the country, so its important to keep them safe.

Many cautious parents are terrified of letting their small child around a dog unsupervised, but one Australian dog has proven that dogs can be invaluable companions for kids after he risked his life to protect a 2-year-old little girl.

Last week, a Victoria-based family let their daughter and their 4-year-old Boxer named Mack outside in the backyard to play. Parents Leigh and Jo Shaw thought their daughter Carmen would be perfectly safe in their backyard, however, they didn’t realize a venomous tiger snake was lurking in the grass just beside the toddler.

Thankfully, Mack sensed the danger and ran at the snake before it could bite his best friend, but while trying to kill it, the snake managed to bite him multiple times. “This has broken our lil’ family’s hearts and many tears are being shed as he has touched a lot of people’s hearts as he is so friendly and playful to all,” the family said about Mack, who had kidney damage from the venom and had to be ventilated.

“He is our world and a massive part of our family. Four years ago we got Mack as a pup when we lost our twins and he has been our rock ever since. He has a bond unbreakable with both our children ages 2 1/2 and even our 3-month-old,” said the family that is now facing $6,000 medical bills. “We can’t lose him to this.”

In order to raise enough money to save their selfless pet, the family created a GoFundMe page, and within six days, they have already exceeded their goal. Thanks to treatment, Mack is starting to show signs of improvement. “(Mack) is still very weak and is wagging his tail again but even that is exhausting for him at the moment. It’s going to be a long road to full recovery.”

When Eva Hachey first saw Bruno at the Fredericton SPCA Animal Shelter, she knew he was the dog for her.

“He started kissing me right away and I just cried,” Hachey told CTV Atlantic. “He accepted me. It was a match right there.”

Now, Hachey owes her life to Bruno, as she wouldn’t be alive today if he hadn’t gone for help when she was having a seizure“Woke up and there’s a whole bunch of paramedics in my living room and I said, ‘What are you doing here?’ And they said, ‘You had a seizure.’ And I’m like, ‘No, I fell asleep,” Hachey said.

Hachey’s daughter, Angel Hutchinson filled in the blanks, confirming her mother did, in fact, have a seizure. She told CTV: “I literally sleep like the dead. You can’t wake me,” Hutchinson said, recalling how the little dog nipped at her fingers and barked until she awoke and got out of bed. He was howling and crying and whining and dancing and I knew something was wrong.”

Hutchinson thought Bruno was alerting her because something was wrong with her grandmother, but it turned out to be her mom. Hachey had a ruptured brain aneurysm which could have been fatal. Doctors told Hachey there was a 95% chance it was fatal if it hadn’t been for Bruno. “If it wasn’t for the dog my mother wouldn’t be here,” Hutchinson said.

Hachey says she’s sharing this story because she wants people to give rescue dogs like Bruno an opportunity for a life outside the shelter“The only reward that we can get and give is love,” she said.

But in August 2014, Peck was approved to undergo a double arm transplant and began waiting to hear from doctors if there was a donor. After two years, the wait was finally over. “As soon as Dr Talbot called me, I knew, and I just broke down. I was crying because I was happy. But then my mind switched and it became… I mean, somebody died. I just want [the donor family] to know that this gift, it’s not going to go to waste at all,” said Peck, who underwent the successful 14-hour surgery four months ago.

“I wanted to move forward with my life,’ Peck said after the surgery. “It’s kind of been on a time-out right now.” Doctors are expecting his rehabilitation to take about 12 months, but the 31-year-old, who proposed to his girlfriend after the surgery, is starting to live his life again and is already seeing great progress.

“I loved them the minute I looked at them,” he said. “I looked down, it seemed natural. It was just a perfect match. The skin color is a perfect match, the size – of course I had swelling but the size is a perfect match. Everything was just perfect.” Just months after surgery, Peck has shared a video of his progress and is seen sliding his arm back and forth with his physiotherapist.

The holidays are a stressful time for just about every parent, but one Tennessee foster mom was particularly frazzled after three boys were placed in her care just weeks before Christmas.

The busy foster mom had enough on her plate, yet while driving in the car with two of her new foster kids the day after bringing them home, she got pulled over by a Tennessee State Trooper and was dreading having to come up with money to pay the ticket she was about to get.

However, being pulled over by the police ended up being one of the best things to happen to her and those kids this holiday season. “I was pulled over Wed morning by a TN State Trooper. When he came up to the car he asked ‘Why are the two boys in the back seat not in car seats?’ My answer was the two little boys were my foster sons who I had just got the night before. I showed him paper work and explained to him that when I got them they had the clothes they were wearing and that is about it. No carseat, no toys, no coats, and so on,” she wrote on her Facebook.

“He was very nice to the kids and to me. He asked me for my phone number. I gave it to him,” said the foster mom, who was just grateful to not get a ticket. Yet that wasn’t the end of Officer Tidwell’s good deed. “His wife called me and asked about the boys. This morning Officer Tidwell met me in Waverly, him and his wife had purchased gifts for the boys. Not just the two boys in the back seat but, their older brother too.”

“I can not thank him enough for the kindness he has shown these three boys. I never asked him for anything. He and his wife acted out of the kindness of their hearts. He showed these boys that there are very nice cops out there and I hope he has left a lasting impression on them that cops are good. The boys has been telling everyone that “cops are nice”. He has made their day. You hear way too much negative stuff now days so, here is some good news for you all.”

It’s always hard for families when a loved one gets deployed, but it can be especially difficult for those families during the holiday season since it’s meant to be a time spent surrounded by all of your closest friends and family.

And when Colorado mom-of-four Ashley Sistrunk kept seeing pictures from her friends’ holiday photos on Facebook, she couldn’t help but feel sad since her husband Brandon had been deployed to Iraq and wouldn’t be home until the end of January.

At Thanksgiving, Sistrunk taped a photo of Brandon in his chair to pretend he was actually there, and when it came time to take her family Christmas card, she was inspired to do something similar. “Of course with my husband gone, that would make me sad and I’d think, ‘I want him in a Christmas card,’” Sistrunk said. “I went on Pinterest and typed in ‘Christmas cards for military’ and I found a couple of different ones and I sent my husband what he had to do. Thankfully he trusts me and it turned out as good as I wanted it to.”

Sistrunk and her kids posed for a photo together with the mountains in the background, and she had Brandon, a staff sergeant in the Air Force, pose in a photo in Iraq and would combine the two so that it would look like they were all actually standing together. “He took about 25 pictures because he knows that I’m very particular. We posted it on my actual Facebook and a lot of people on my friend list liked it, and I liked how it turned out, but I didn’t at all expect it to turn into this,” she said after her Christmas card went viral.

When a young boy was drowning in a pool at his friend’s birthday party, everyone thought the worst was ahead.

The birthday boy, David Baltzley, told USA Today: “I thought he wasn’t going to make it. I thought there was going to be a death.”

The kids were playing in the pool when they realized one of their friends was at the bottom and he wasn’t playing around. When they dragged him out, he wasn’t breathing, and they immediately called 911.

That’s when 11-year-old Skylar Berry checked the boy’s pulse and started performing CPR, which wound up saving his life.  “It was pretty cool. I’ve never seen an 11-year-old do CPR on another kid. It was so relieving,” says Baltzley.

Berry, who was just a kid herself, had recently learned CPR at Fire Camp at the Sacramento Metro Fire Department just earlier that day. Now, after the ordeal, and the boy is safe, Berry is adamant that all her peers learn CPR.

She is even using all of her free time at Orchard Elementary School to teach other students, hands-only, or “sidewalk,” CPR in her CPR club. Berry’s classmates are learning simple chest compressions to the beat of the disco hit “Stayin’ Alive.”

“We want to teach other kids that real life situations are no joke,” Berry explains. “It’s no time to mess around.
