Cashier Pays For Struggling Foster Mom’s Groceries

After a long hard day at work, one exhausted cashier was ready to finish his shift and get home. However, when he saw a mother with three young children on the brink of breaking down, he didn’t hesitate to go above and beyond to help her.

Towards the end of Nicholas Tate’s shift as a cashier at an Oklahoma Walmart, a woman stepped up to the counter and explained that she was fostering a baby and had to use WIC, a federal program that helps low-income families with kids pay for some groceries, for the first time. “She had a good amount of items and most of them went through, but she apparently didn’t have the right formula and it wouldn’t go through,” Tate said. “We had to run a separate transaction for the rest.”

But as Tate tried to figure out why the baby formula wasn’t being accepted, the line of customers quickly started to grow. “More customers, more grumbling and dirty looks as they moved to the other lane and I’m frustrated and trying not to cry,” the customer said. “At this point, a lady we know came up and asked why I was causing so many problems. I told her I was just failing as a foster mom because I can’t figure out WIC and almost burst into tears right there.”

Tate called the manager over for help and tried to make the transaction again. “I already had my card out at that point. I felt like God was telling me to pay for it,” Tate said. “The second it didn’t work I swiped my card.” The woman was stunned and started tearing up when she realized Tate paid for $60 worth of groceries for her. “When we feel like God is telling us to do something — how many times do we say no? In that moment, without a doubt, he was telling me to pay, telling me these people are in need, to help them.”

“I don’t remember everything he said to me after that but I do know he told me that I wasn’t failing and that what we were doing was an amazing thing. I have been able to get into contact with this young man… and thank him again as well as his mom and tell her how incredibly blessed we were by her son and thank her for raising such an exceptional young man,” the woman said. “It made my heart really happy,” Tate added. “It confirmed that I’m doing what God wants me to do.”

Police Officer’s Wife Turns Old Cop Uniforms Into Plush Teddy Bears

When Officer Cody Gray was asked by his lieutenant at the Kalkasha Police Department in Michigan what could be done with a batch of more than 100 police uniforms from the early 90s, his wife came up with a genius idea.

Eva suggested that teddy bears be made out of the old cop uniforms and they can then be given to children. “I’ve dubbed them patrol bears,” Eva told InsideEdition.com

Credit: YouTube- Inside Edition via Eva Gray

The plush bears started with a prototype and took about six hours each to make, using a pattern Eva found at a craft store using makeshift fabric taken from the shirt and pants of one uniform.

She has now simplified the process so that it takes 2.5 hours to transform one uniform into a bear, and the bears are dressed in their own replicas of the Kalkasha police uniform that even includes a stripe lining down the pant leg and a patch on the tummy.

Credit: YouTube- Inside Edition via Eva Gray

The bears are filled with stuffing that’s been donated to Eva from members of the community, and the bears will be handed out to children who have been victims of a crime- those involved in accidents or who are experiencing a family tragedy.

“We took it in to show the lieutenant and he absolutely loved it,” Eva said. “We haven’t fully discussed what instances [they] are going to be able to use these for. I think the officers will just know when a child needs a bear,” she continued.

Officer Gray said, “The teddy bears are going to kids when they’re at the most vulnerable when they need something extra to help them get through an event,” he said. “I think it’s going to be great to give these to the kids so they can feel better in a bad situation.”

While Eva already has a full-time job and three children to raise, she will not be able to make bears for other departments with their uniforms unless she receives a grant of some sort. Eva’s plan is to make enough to put two bears in each patrol car for the officers to hand out, which is a total of more than 140 bears. “It seems pretty neat to me because then the child will have a piece of the officer,” Eva said.

Airline Threatens Family With Jail Time For Refusing To Give Up Their 2-Year-Old Son’s Seat

In a shocking video, a California family was kicked off a Delta flight and threatened with jail time for refusing to give up a seat for their 2-year-old son, despite having paid for it.

Brian and Brittany Schear of Huntington Beach, California, were on a flight from Maui to Los Angeles with their two infant children on April 23, when Delta agents said their 2-year-old had to give up his seat, or the couple would face jail time.

Credit: ABC News

Brian Schear explained to NBC News that the family initially purchased a ticket for their teenage son on the red-eye flight, but they decided to send him home early so that their 2-year-old could have a seat on the plane. The couple were also traveling with a 1-year-old. Schear said the ticket agent knew about their situation at the gate, and the family agreed to put their child in a car seat on the aircraft.

Once they boarded the flight, Delta agents told Brian, “So this is a federal offense. You and your wife could be in jail and your kids will be in foster care.” “We’re going to be in jail and my kids are going to be what?” Schear interrupted. “It’s a federal offense if you don’t abide by it,” she said.

Credit: Daily News

“I bought that seat … you’re saying you’re going to give that away to someone else when I paid for that seat. That’s not right,” Schear responded. The Delta employee said that because Schear’s teenage son was not present and the ticket was in his name, that the 2-year-old could not sit in the seat and had to give it up. The family ultimately had to make the decision to get off of the plane, otherwise they would face jail time.

The entire conversation between Brian and the Delta employee was captured on camera by Brian’s wife, Brittany. She later said, “I’m not a confrontational person … and when you’re a mother and you have your 1-year-old and your 2-year-old and they threaten to take your kids away from you, I mean whether that’s possible or whether that’s, you know against the law, it just, it made my heart drop.”

Credit: ABC News

Only after the video spread across the internet did Delta issue a statement saying, “We are sorry for the unfortunate experience our customers had with Delta, and we’ve reached out to them to refund their travel and provide additional compensation,” the company said in the statement. “Delta’s goal is to always work with customers in an attempt to find solutions to their travel issues. That did not happen in this case and we apologize.”

None the less, the Schear’s did not care for their apology, as the airline put them through enough stress and embarrassment.

Army Vet Buys A Plane To Save Hundreds Of Dogs From Being Euthanized

An Army vet named Pual Steklenski learned how to fly and bought his own plane so he could rescue hundreds of dogs from death row.

The former tank operator decided he wanted to save animals after adopting a homeless dog named Tessa from a rescue center. Steklenski, 45, first considered driving to kill shelters and transporting the dogs that way to help find them owners. But, he knew there was a more effective way, so he shelled out $70,000 for an aircraft to transport dogs to adopters.

It was just a coincidence that Steklenski started learning how to fly in 2013 as a hobby, but once he realized he wanted to do this, he went and got his pilot license. In May 2015, he set up Flying Fur Animal Rescue and to date, he’s saved over 742 animals which have been neglected or abused. According to the New York Post, Steklenski said, “When I first started flying there were times when I wanted to quit because I didn’t think I could do it, but I kept going back.”

Credit: Flying Fur Animal Rescue

“Once I became certified I thought, ‘What am I going to do now?’ A lot of pilots like to fly to restaurants or nice places and that is great, but for me I had to have a different reason to go in the air. Seeing the dogs at the shelter was heartbreaking. It was horrible to think that there were so many animals being euthanized because they’re stuck in a certain area,” he continued.

Steklenski knew he could help make a difference by going down there, picking up the dogs and taking them to other shelters. “The plane is a tool that allows me to do a lot in a day that I couldn’t do with a bus,” Steklenski said.

Credit: Flying Fur Animal Rescue

Steklenski, who now works as an IT expert, takes off about two days a month to fly to shelters, where he picks up dogs and cats. On his biggest trip, Steklenski was able to fit 23 animals into the aircraft, and he ripped up the interior so they could all fit. Steklenski flies to North Carolina and takes the dogs to shelters in other states where they will have a better chance of being adopted.

Credit: Flying Fur Animal Rescue

Although this can be very costly, Steklenski says that it’s all worth it, as he doesn’t have children. “Once the engine starts up they fall asleep or will stay awake and look out of the windows,” he told the New York Post. “It’s always very quiet. I have never had an issue. I have a feeling they know better things are going to happen for them.”

When the dogs arrive at their destination, Steklenski knows they’re safe because none of the shelters he delivers to euthanize animals. “It’s extremely emotional, but I will do this for as long as I can afford to,” Steklenski said. “I hope to inspire other people to get involved.”

Sheriff’s Captain Mows Elderly Man’s Lawn On Hot Day

Landscaping isn’t normally a police officer’s job, however, one Louisiana police officer made it his responsibility when he saw an elderly man struggling in the heat.

While driving home with his kids, Captain Cortrell Davis from the Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office spotted an elderly man struggling to mow his lawn as he drove by. “Captain Davis, who is the Warden at the Lafourche Parish Detention Center, said his heart sank when he saw this, and he just had to see if he could help,” Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office wrote in a post on Facebook.

“It was a hot day and the grass was pretty high,” Davis said. “I had the opportunity to help somebody in need and I just wanted to seize the moment.” Davis turned the car around and asked the man if he could help him out. “The resident, Mr. Larry Johnson, happily accepted the assistance, and Captain Davis finished cutting his entire yard,” the Sheriff’s office said.

“I’m always trying to give back, always trying to be a positive role model, a mentor,” Davis said.“He was very appreciative. His facial expression probably said more than his words. He had this kid-like smile on his face and just had the expression of thanks all over him.”

Firefighters Flush Poor Kitten Out Of Drain Pipe

Animal rescuers spend most of their time saving helpless animals in dangerous situations, however, when RSPCA rescuers realized where a tiny kitten had gotten stuck, they knew they had to call for backup.

Recently, UK RSPCA rescuers were called in to save a tiny kitten spotted perched on the roof of a building near a drain pipe. The team rushed to the location as soon as possible, however, by the time they arrived, the kitten had already slipped down the pipe.

“What seemed like a straightforward rescue suddenly became a lot more complicated,” said Jill Sanders, an animal collection officer with the RSPCA. “The poor kitten had slipped down into the drain, which you couldn’t get to from outside the building. I knew I’d need the assistance of the fire service then, and a fantastic team came out to help me rescue the poor puss.”

The firefighters quickly got to work searching for the pipe that the kitten was trapped in. Yet when they finally located her, they realized there was no way they could reach inside and get her. Instead of just giving up, the firemen came up with an unorthodox rescue plan.

The four-week-old kitten, who rescuers named Ace, was stunned but healthy. Since her mother or no other kittens could be found, the team brought her to the RSPCA Putney Animal Hospital to wait while they look for her forever home.

14-year-old Kaley from Louisiana was challenged by a friend to put a hammer in her mouth, and when she accepted the challenge, things went terribly wrong.

It all started when the teen was so googly-eyed looking at a member from a Korean boy band called BTS that she described one of them as “so beautiful I could shove a hammer in my mouth.” After her friend dared her to do it, Kaley put the hammer in her mouth and it got stuck behind her lips. Haley then snapped a photo of the tool in her mouth and posted the image to Twitter with the caption: “how do you tell ur mom that you got a hammer stuck in ur mouth.”

Kaley explained to BuzzFeed News, “It was a little too big to fit in my mouth in the first place, but getting it out was even more of a problem.” After ten minutes of yanking on the hammer, it finally came out, but the jokes and memes continued on social media.

People even tried giving Kaley advice with how to break the news to her mother.

“There are ways to channel your excitement, and shoving a hammer in your mouth probably isn’t the best,” Kaley told BuzzFeed news. She even admitted to putting the hammer back in her mouth a few times since to show her friends. When Kaley finally told her mom, her mom said to BuzzFeed News, “I’m now going to be known as the Hammer Girl’s mother.”

Firemen Save Man And Dog From Submerged Car

When a man took his dog for a hike in a Colorado canyon, he thought a dry creek bed was a perfect spot to park, but learned the hard way why dry creeks and river beds are incredibly dangerous.

Shortly after parking in a dry creek bed off Phantom Canyon road, David Rooks noticed water suddenly began to flood the area. “I looked up…and I was already standing in six inches of water and it was coming,” said Rooks, who grabbed his dog and jumped into the car.

Photo by Facebook/Fremont County Sheriff’s Office

Luckily a hiker passed by and spotted the car being quickly submerged in the flood water. “I waved my hat out the window and he called 911,” Rooks said. The fire department raced to the scene, but by the time they arrived, the only possible way to reach the car was extending the ladder overhead.

Photo by Facebook/Fremont County Sheriff’s Office

After about 12 minutes, the Florence Fire chief managed to pull Rooks and his dog up onto the ladder and safely bring them back to dry land. Now, the sheriff’s office is hoping that the footage from the rescue will show people why they should never park or camp in a dry river or creek bed.

“Parking or camping or picnicking or playing in dry creek beds or culverts or things like that is not safe,” Sgt. Megan Richards with the Fremont County Sheriff’s Office said. “There is a reason that creek bed is there.”

Wedding Photographer Awarded $1M From Newlyweds Who Bashed Business Online

A Jury in Texas is awarding a wedding photographer more than $1 million after she was able to prove a married couple’s social media campaign of lies resulted in defamation and lost revenue.

According to KTVT, the situation started in 2014 when a couple was unhappy over the handling and cost of their wedding photographs. The couple believed that their photos were being held “hostage,” meanwhile, photographer Andrea Polito had simply required the couple to submit an order form for their wedding album.

This is standard for all of Polito’s customers, but for some reason, it was too much to ask for the Moldovan’s.

Credit: Inside Edition/YouTube

When Andrew and Neely Moldovan spoke to KXAS about the incident in 2015, they claimed the issue revolved around a surprise $125 fee for an album cover.

“She basically didn’t read her paperwork or contract,” Polito told the Washington Post.“She just couldn’t understand why she couldn’t have her high-res images. It’s in bold in our contract.” Upset with Polito, the couple engaged in a social media campaign to destroy her business and spread false rumors.

Credit: Inside Edition/YouTube

Due to the campaign, Polito went from booking 75-100 wedding per year to almost none. She was forced to shut down her photo studio, so Polito filed a defamation lawsuit and won.

A jury determined the couple was liable for defamation, disparagement and civil conspiracy to the tune of $1 million. “It affects lives,” said Polito. “There’s someone on the other side of that keyboard and they have a family and they have businesses.”

Polito hopes her case will serve as a lesson to anyone who posts falsehoods online

Family Wears Helmets In Solidarity With 4-Month-Old Baby With Flat Head Syndrome

When 4-month-old Jonas Gutierrez started wearing his helmet last week in San Antonio, his 3-year-old sister, Camila, wanted one too so her brother wouldn’t “feel different.”

As reported by TV Station KENS, soon, the whole family had head gear and the photos spread across the internet. “I love that Camila can be exposed to something valuable like inclusion for those who are ‘different,'” the siblings’ mother, Shayna Gutierrez, said. “But the truth is we were just being our normal selves on a normal Saturday morning at home, and just give in to the requests of our 3-year-old who asks us to wear helmets.”

Apparently, among babies, flat heads aren’t uncommon, and half of all infants may develop flat-head syndrome, which is when babies’ heads become distorted from all the time they spend on their backs. Babies wearing corrective helmets to treat the condition isn’t rare either, but a whole family wearing helmets is solidarity is rare.

While Jonas is too young to appreciate the kind gesture by her family, Shayna said that it will make for sweet sibling bonding. Jonas will have to wear the helmet for two to six months and he has to be very careful about his sleeping habits. “He has great muscle control and does his recommended tummy time, but he just always settled on that spot and slept with his head right on it,” Shayna explained.

“At first I felt a bit guilty but I got over that quickly,” Shayna added, saying: “We thank God for two healthy kids and for fun time spent together as a family.”

Music is a universal language that can bring people together from around the world.

In the case of this dog owner and his loving companion, music is what bonds them. Luke Westerman is dad to an adorable Pit Bull named Franky. To Westerman, music is everything and he says that Franky loves to be serenaded on either his piano or guitar.

Credit: Luke Westerman/Facebook

According to Westerman, Franky has been into music ever since he was a puppy. He told The Dodo: “Franky has always loved when I sing to him or play an instrument. He’s been doing this since he was a pup.  He just melts into a deep rest while enjoying being serenaded.”

Westerman has posted videos of him playing the guitar and piano which Franky listens to in awe. He even gets closer to his dad every single time he is playing music. Most of the time, Franky sits directly on Westerman’s lap and seems to drift off into happy doggy-land. There are even a few instances where Franky was so relaxed that he fell asleep.

“He requires kisses and pets throughout, and he has also been known to fall asleep on my lap while I play guitar or piano for him,” Westerman said. Franky may have a pretty good life now, but according to The Dodo he had a rocky past and he was almost a casualty of Hurricane Gustav back in 2008.

Thankfully, he was rescued and later adopted by Westerman and his girlfriend. “After [Hurricane] Katrina and the devastation there and all the displaced dogs, we knew we wanted to rescue a dog from that area before he became another victim,” Westerman said.

“Once we saw Franky’s photo we knew he was the one, so we had him flown from New Orleans up to Columbus — which we only did because time was of the essence due to the incoming hurricane.”

Ever since Franky and Westerman have been inseparable and they like to jam out whenever possible.

Dog Who Lost His Best Friend Gets A Toy That Looks Just Like Her

After a Chihuahua lost his best friend- a lamb named Lily, his family gets him a toy that looks like her to comfort him.

Paddy the Chihuahua was rescued after he was found trying to cross a busy highway. He had a misaligned disk in his neck and when rescuers found him, he kept falling over. Paddy was adopted by a family who not only knew how to properly take care of him, but who were determined to do a good job.

Credit: Janell Jensen via The Dodo

A few months after Paddy was adopted, the family adopted Lily the lamb, who was the smallest of a set of triplets. When Lily was in the womb, her legs didn’t have enough room to develop correctly, and after she was born, her mother rejected her.

Janell Jensen is the kind soul who took in both of these injured animals. Jensen and her husband knew Lily would require more care, but they were willing to try. Paddy took a liking to Lily and he stepped in to care for her too.

Credit: Janell Jensen via The Dodo

“When we adopted Lily, Paddy took her under his wing right away and became her official face washer after each and every bottle of lamb’s milk, which at first was every hour,” Jensen told The Dodo. “He snuggled with her to keep her company; she was HIS baby lamb. Lily would also walk over to Paddy and snuggle up to him. They loved each other … they were VERY close.”

Lily and Paddy both had some balance issues, but still, the dynamic duo ran around the house together and constantly cuddled! They seemed to understand each other’s needs well and be just the right support that the other needed.

Credit: Janell Jensen via The Dodo

As Lily’s body grew, she could no longer support her frail legs, so the Jensens got her a wheelchair. Unfortunately, Lily lost the use of her back legs completely and she passed away at 15 months old. The whole family was devastated, but Paddy took it the hardest.

“We could definitely tell that little Paddy missed Lily after she was gone, but we gave him lots of special attention and that seemed to help his grief,” Jensen said. “We all grieved for her in our own way, I guess. She was such a big part of our little family.”

Credit: Janell Jensen via The Dodo

To help with his grief, Paddy’s aunt sent him a stuffed lamb so that he would have someone to cuddle with in place of Lily. “I put it in his big dog crate, that we call his ‘mancave,’ and he snuggles up to it on his heating pad,” Jensen said.

“I leave the door open and he goes in on his own to snuggle up with his plush Lily.” Paddy misses his best friend, but having a toy that looks just like her is a beautiful reminder of Lily.

Senior Dog Abandoned In Field With Heartbreaking Note Has Been Rescued

A man abandoned a senior dog in a field with just a note and the dog’s belongings after his neighbor gave him the dog and he agreed to take care of her.

12-year-old Tessa’s owner had to move away and she couldn’t take Tessa with her, so she asked if her neighbor would look after her dog instead. The man agreed with no intention on keeping Tessa, it seems he just wanted to put her owner at ease. So instead of trying to bring Tessa to a shelter, or at the very least try and find another home for her, the man left the dog alone in a field behind some bushes with a note.

The senior dog laid there with her bed, her bowls, some belongings and a note that ended with, “I don’t need a dog.”Thankfully, this story has a happy ending because Alan Webster, who runs South Yorkshire Pet Ambulance, a 24-hour volunteer rescue service, found Tessa and took her home.

When Webster got to her, she was wet and no one is exactly sure how long she was there for. The note listed some details about Tessa- that she likes tea, coffee, and watered milk.

As soon as help arrived, Tessa seemed incredibly grateful and happy to be somewhere safe. According to the South Yorkshire Pet Ambulance Facebook page, the man who left Tessa has been found, but there’s no word on whether charges will be filed.

Tessa was taken in by Dogs Trust, where she will be put up for adoption and we can’t wait for her to be all loved up!

Dog Collapses On Top Of Mountain: Whole Team Comes To Save Her

Hana, the German Shepherd was out for a hike with her dad, when suddenly the heat became too much for her to handle and she collapsed.

Unable to move at all, Hana was now stuck far up at the top of Snow Lake Trail in Washington and Hannah’s owner worried help wouldn’t get there in time. He acted quickly and called Washington State Animal Response Team (WASART) who immediately jumped into action. A team of rescuers with plenty of equipment drove to the bottom of the mountain and began the long hike up the trail. As they went up, they passed several hikers who told them about the dog and said she was resting her head on her dad’s jacket, waiting for help to arrive.

Credit: WASART

According to The Dodo, “Hiking the trail took about an hour,” said WASART’s public information officer, Michaela Eaves. “We work on conditioning for hikes so the pace was faster than your normal hike. She was about 3.5 miles up. Hana raised her head to acknowledge us when we arrived, but then lay her head back down and let us work.”

The rescuers took Hana’s temperature and cooled her down using ice packs and a frozen Capri sun packet donated by a passing hiker. Anyone that passed Hana poured cold water trying to help the overheated dog. Once Hana was cool enough, the team secured her with a harness and muzzle and loaded her in a litter which is a stretcher with a wheel.

“On the way down the trail, Hana watched the scenery go by but didn’t try to get out of the litter,” Eaves said. “She didn’t seem to mind when we’d switch people managing the litter and we made sure she could always see her owner.” As they made their way down, more volunteers joined the rescue effort, allowing rested arms to carry Hana.

Finally, the team reached the bottom with Hana and brought her to the family’s car where everyone was waiting anxiously for her- including her brother Scooby. Scooby knew something was going on and paid close attention to Hana the entire time. Her family thanked rescuers and Hana was rushed to an emergency vet to get checked out.

When the rescue team checked on Hana the next day, she was still at the vet, but her family said she was doing well and will be released soon. Thank you to the kind-hearted good samaritans out there who saved this dog’s life!

Most of us have had the experience of going to the beach and picking up seashells.

While not all of us have taken them home, we’ve at least looked them over to see if they were unique enough that they were worth taking home. One family found a special seashell on the beach during a trip to Cape Cod.

Cristina DiGioia Mastro wrote on Facebook“Vince and Mia just found this shell on Corporation Beach on Cape Cod. Instant goosebumps. I wish this lady could know her son had fun on the beach w our kids today. Everyone SHARE this post. Maybe the mom will see it!!! (We did set it back out to sea. We knew this shells journey wasn’t over yet!)”

The seashell was put onto the beach by a mother who recently lost her son. It read: “Matt my beautiful boy, you are missed and loved always.” She dated the seashell, 7/7/17 and wrote Cape Cod, Mom.

The Mastro family couldn’t help but share this special seashell with the world and they hope that the mom who wrote the message will have a chance to see it. The post so far has been shared over 109,000 times from people all over the world who are commenting where they are from.

This story has certainly spiked everyone’s curiosity as readers are wondering what happened the child. While we may certainly wonder, this is one of those stories that we do not always need answers too. There is a certain beauty that comes with not knowing, and that is most definitely the case here.

Have you ever found anything like this on a beach?

When a house fire completely destroyed one Texas home, a grandmother and her four grandchildren were left with nothing but the clothes on their backs.

Despite a local fire department’s efforts to stop the fire, nearly everything in the home was destroyed. “We met with the family the day after and you could really see it starting to sink in that they no longer had anything,” said firefighter Isaac Saldivar who was one of the first firemen at the scene.

Because of his job, Salvidar is used to coming into plenty of contact with people and families who have just lost everything to a fire. But when he met the woman raising her grandkids on her own, he felt he had to do something more to help. “I don’t know if something just struck a cord with me,” Salvidar said.

“She was a grandmother trying to raise four grandkids on her own. So I said you know what I’m going to ask around. I know my son has clothes that can fit one of the boys, I’m going to ask around to see what I can do to help her,” Saldivar said. With help from his community, Saldivar has started collecting everything from clothes to toys and shoes.

Fishermen never know what they’re going to catch when they’re out on the water, but one Illinois man couldn’t believe what he found while on a fishing trip at a local river.

While out fishing in Rock River, Jeremy Romero heard saw what looked like a dog on the edge of the river bank. The dog looked perfectly safe, however, when he got closer, he realized something was very wrong. “I didn’t think anything of it until I got closer and heard him whining,” Romero said.

Romero made his way to the dog, and realized the dog was trapped in the mud as he began sinking himself. Once he finally made it to the dog, he saw that the animal was hopelessly buried in the thick mud up to his chest. Without hesitating, Romero starting digging with his bare hands and the carried the exhausted dog to solid land.

Romero let the dog down to rest, but when he struggled to stand on his own, Romero picked him up again and carried him to his owner nearby. “I spoke to him and he said that the dog wanders around a lot because of his doggy dementia,” Romero said. “He was very appreciative that that I got him out of the mud.”

Bikers Escort Bullied Boy On First Day Of School

Most kids dread the first day of school because it means summer is over, but one Indiana boy dreaded the beginning of the school year since it meant being surrounded by the ruthless bullies who tormented him the year before.

Throughout elementary school, sixth-grader Phil Mick was ruthlessly bullied by classmates for his weight and clothes. “He was hiding it,” Phil’s mom, Tammy Mick, said. “He came home with bumps and bruises. He said he wanted to end his life and I stepped up as a parent and tried to get things taken care of.”

“I met Phil and I met Tammy and she had told be about him getting bullied. I said, ‘Well next year get a hold of me and we can give him an escorted ride to school,'” said Brent Warfield, sales manager of KDZ Motorcycle Sales & Service. “When you hear an 11-year-old-kid talking about getting kicked and picked on all because they don’t have as much money or wear nice clothes, being overweight and then having an 11-year-old son myself, it reached down deep and hit me.”

So when the first day of school approached, Warfield reached out to other bikers from the area on Facebook to join him in escorting Phil to school on Aug. 1. That morning, 50 bikers arrived at Phil’s house with new clothes for school and supplies and gave him a ride to school after breakfast. “Some rode up [from] even an hour away to be here,” Warfield said. “We just wanted to come together as a big community and help Phil to show him that we’re there to support him during this rough time.”

“I wanted to cry, it was so heartwarming. Every day, he talks about that ride. He said it was amazing. [To] Brent and all the riders who came, from the bottom of my heart, I want to thank them. They made my son very happy,” Tammy said. “It gave him confidence,” Warfield explained. “The middle school is a fresh start for him. I’ve talked to him several days since. He goes to school happy, comes home happy.”

Traveling can be stressful and scary, but an adorable 2-year-old boy is making the day of passengers aboard a Southwest Airlines flight from Kansas City to Chicago.

Alya Jakubowicz posted an Instagram video of her son, Guy, greeting passengers on their flight by walking up and down the aisle of the plane and fist-bumping everyone he passes. My son on the campaign trail, attempting to win the hearts of airline passengers in the hopes of becoming the next Southwest ambassador. He is making flying the friendly skies even friendlier with one fist bump at a time,” Jakubowicz wrote.

Guy can be seen walking down the aisle, dragging his blanket behind him and giving a friendly fist-bump to everyone. “It’s his signature move. He’s a little politician,” Alya Jakubowicz told ABC News about son. “He’s very funny, not shy at all. He doesn’t leave anyone out.”

The family was flying from Kansas, Missouri, to Chicago, Illinois, on their way home to Raleigh, North Carolina. “He does it every time he boards a flight,” said Jakubowicz told ABC News. “Ironically, he learned how to fist-bump when he was like 18 months. We were waiting on the tarmac and he was getting antsy so I let him run around the aisle a little bit and these guys behind us taught him how to fist bump.”

“We just got back from the library and he fist-bumped everyone there. We just dropped off his sister at school and he fist-bumped everyone in the administration office,” Jakubowicz continued. Her post was later shared by Southwest Airlines on its Facebook page where it has gone viral with over 70,000 likes.

Jakubowicz said she is thrilled her son is helping spread job across social media. “I’m so proud of him. When can you say that you made 70,000 people smile in one day?” she said. “Most people can’t say that and he’s done it and he’s only 2.”
