Ahh Christmas, the season of giving, love, spreading joy and apparently, a time for architectural structures from food.

There’s the popular gingerbread house, Santa’s sleigh made from chocolate, and of course, the big cheese: a nativity scene made from cheddar.

If you haven’t heard of cheese sculpting, don’t fret, you are not alone. Cheese sculpting is a rather new form of art perfected by Prudence Staite, a food artist from Gloucestershire, U.K.

She has recently defied the laws of dairy when she crafted a Biblical Nativity scene from 40 kilograms (88 pounds) of cheddar cheese.

Holy Cheesus that’s a lot of cheddar:

While the cheese nativity is good, we’re inclined to say farmer Sally Williamson’s potato nativity from last year is a whole lot cheddar.

When humans get the hiccups, there are a number of things we can try and do to get rid of them.

We can chug water, ask someone to scare us, or even hold our breath.

But what’s a poor puppy to do?

When this poor beagle puppy got the hiccups, he felt totally helpless. Despite his mommy lovingly holding him in her arms trying to soothe him, his little tummy kept on panting.

We’re not sure if it’s his hiccuping that is so adorable, or just looking at him, because he is one beautiful beagle puppy!

His mommy uploaded this video of him to YouTube and we cannot get enough:

This Florida woman lives what some may call an alternative lifestyle.

Janice Haley, used to live the typical American life. She woke up on Monday morning, drove her car to work, and then counted the hours until she got to go home, sleep, and do it all over again. She described the job as boring an unfulfilling and decided one day to quit and raise two Bengal tigers in her garden.

For thousands of years, we’ve been asking ourselves, “WHY did the chicken cross the road?”

Because LifeDaily is has an insatiable curiosity about the world and we desire to know more, we took to some of the most brilliant minds to ask “why?”

Albert Einstein told us, “the chicken did not cross the road. The road passed beneath the chicken,” which makes sense in an alternate reality, but not this one. Good guess Einstein.

According to Newton, “Chickens at rest tend to stay at rest. Chickens in motion tend to cross roads.” And while the good sir’s assumption is correct, it still doesn’t fully answer the question of why?

Perhaps the answer lies with Colonel Sanders, who when we asked him simply said, “I missed one…”

Perhaps we’ve forgotten a vital question, one that’s been overlooked as long as we’ve been asking it.

Life isn’t about blindly accepting answers, it’s about knowing the process. So while we should ask why, there’s another question that must be taken into account too. HOW, friends, did this legendary chicken cross the road?

And it appears we’ve found the answer:

But can he pick up chicks?

We already know that cats like to snuggle their way into strange positions.

That’s because cats are a liquid. They fill the basin with their essence and mold themselves to the shape of the container. But you already know this.

You have already seen cats fill fishbowls:

But what happens when the fluffy beast wants to sit, but it can’t fit?

That’s basically what happened with this little dude named Maru. Maru has an owner who is a lot like you. She likes to drink wine by the box load. And after unpacking one of these boxes, her cat came across the empty container. Maru decided he wanted to sit, but he simply could not fit.

Well this is quite the conundrum:

Sources tell us Maru eventually figured out a way to get inside the box (with the help of his laughing owner), and all is well in that box.

Pudgy pets are undoubtedly adorable, but that extra weight can be really dangerous for their health, and drastically shorten their lives.

For the past 10 years, the Pet Fit Club in the U.K. has been helping overweight pets get healthy again, which for many, has given them back their lives. Over the years, the club has worked with 95 obese pets, and helped them lose a collective 840 pounds.

Take a look at some of the most impressive (and most adorable) transformations below.

This obese Rottweiler named Hooch weighed 50 lbs more than a healthy Rottweiler should weigh. Through the program, he lost about 15.2% of his bodyweight, and now weighs 153 lbs.

Fudge will eat practically anything, and over the years, it started to show. The Labrador mix has lost about 22 lbs, and now weighs a healthier 107 lbs.

Duke the yellow Labrador was twice his recommended weight before getting help from the Pet Fit Club, and has since lost 8.3% of his bodyweight.

The Pet Fit Club isn’t just for hungry pups, they even help cats lose weight too! “The PDSA vets and nurses were great,” said Penny Faulkner, Amber’s owner. “I saw a real difference in Amber’s shape – she no longer waddled when she walked, she slept less and became more interested in playing.”

Bobby had a nasty habit of raiding his neighbors’ food cabinets in search of some extra treats, which caused him to gain so much weight that he was twice his recommended weight. With hard work, he managed to lose over 23 pounds.

Don’t worry, kids. No trees were harmed in the making of this vide…ohh

Why cut down a tree when you could turn it into a work of art? That’s exactly what Lueb Popoff, a tree carver from Boulder, Colorado decided to do with his life

The skilled craftsman created an amazing piece of art from an old tree that may or may not have been proclaimed dead. It was however, a very ugly tree, according to the property owner on which the monstrosity sat.

Rather than removing it, however, the homeowners called Popoff who is a lumberjack, tree doctor, and all-around really talented guy. He’s spent the past twenty years learning how to turn a piece of wood into a piece of art.

Chainsaw carving is an increasingly popular art that combines the ancient practice of wood carving, with the new technology of chainsaws. Okay, we admit, it’s not that new of a technology. Horror movie killers have been using them to hack people to bits since the 60s, but it’s new enough, right?

You’ll be fascinated by this lumberjack’s entire process boiled down to 2 minutes:

Voice actor Rudi Rok is a man whose bark is bigger than his bite.

While we can’t exactly be sure of the um…size of his bark, we do know that he has quite an impressive range of sounds coming from his mouth. The actor can perform impersonations, accents, and even animal sounds.

So just for giggles, he teamed up with magician Jose Ahonen to see what would happen when they played a little prank on a couple of dogs. Typically, dogs aren’t very susceptible to prank pulling, however this group didn’t know what they were facing.

The talented actor got down on all fours and imitated a dog with impressive accuracy.

For the confused canines, it was a little bit like a dog walking into the room, shaking your hand, greeted you with perfect English and then started playing chopsticks on the piano:

The coconut octopus is an animal that has earned its name. That’s because it has learned how to use tools almost as well as we have.

An intriguing video from ReefID surfaced recently showing just how crafty this creature can be. The invertebrate is shown carrying around a split coconut with its eight legs. It can even walk along the ocean floor while it carries the shell.

When frightened, the octopus curls its body inside the shell and creates a rolling home for itself.

And you thought your cat was smart.

She’s simply carrying it up the hill just so she can ride it back down. Now THAT is an intelligent strategy.

Andrew Lumish is a “good cemeterian” who has been performing a selfless and formerly anonymous service for veterans in the Tampa Bay area.

Lumish performs random acts of kindness for deceased veterans in Florida. He goes around to cemeteries cleaning the grave plots of veterans and restoring them to their former glory.

Perhaps the most inspiring part of this story is that Lumish works as a carpet cleaner most of the week. He only gets ONE DAY off, yet he spends this free time doing the less-than-glamorous job of cleaning graves.

As a result, Lumish began a Facebook page of his own, cataloging the small acts of kindness he performs for those who gave their lives in the ultimate sacrifice.

He’s making a small but impactful difference that has inspired others to take part too:

If you and your community would like to take part in such an inspiring activity, Lumish recommends environmentally safe, Ph neutral products like D/2 and Purple Magic. He never uses bleach, ammonia,  a pressure washer or wire brushes. He opts instead for bristles like a toothbrush.

If you have recovered from the spasms of adoarble feelings rushing through your blood, perhaps you’d like to watch this video of an equally adorable dog falling asleep sitting up.

It’s a police officer’s duty to serve and protect the public, but the following video proves that more often than not, cops will go above and beyond the call of duty when it comes to animals who have found themselves in dangerous situations.

A video of a brave police officer with Policía Federal de México has gone viral since being posted this December. In the video below, we see an unnamed officer run into a blazing inferno, after a home and its surrounding property burst into flames.

Fortunately, it looks like everyone on the property was evacuated, excepted for a medium-sized mixed breed dog who found herself trapped behind the chain-link fence. The dog, who is referred to as LuLu in the video, was able to run as far as she could from the flames, but she was still trapped inside the complex.

That’s when the selfless police officer decided to risk his life and run into the blazing area to grab the traumatized dog.

Much like these brave policemen in Colombia, who worked tirelessly to rescue a horse in grave danger who was trapped in a sand grinder, there’s no denying this brave officer was a true hero to the terrified dog.

“To do our job we face different challenges, always oriented to protect life.” the Policía Federal de México wrote on YouTube, describing the dramatic events from the video.

When Tanner Edwards appeared on America’s Got Talent in 2011, he blew the country away! 

Being just 6-years-old at the time, this little boy was not only adorable but also incredibly talented. 

Tanner, also known as Lil’ T, enjoys dancing to freestyle hip-hop, and he took to the America’s Got Talent stage to perform an epic dance of The Black Eyed Peas hit song Boom Boom Pow.

Before Lil’ T even starts his audition, judge Howie Mandel asks the boy a few important questions.

Mandel asked, “Do you like girls, do you have a girlfriend?” Tanner responded yes, I have a girlfriend named Abbey. 

Then Mandel asked Lil’ T to look in the camera and say something nice to Abbey in case she was watching the show, and Tanner’s response melted our hearts!

Not only is this little boy the smoothest 6-year-old on the planet, but he also nails dance moves like the robot and the worm!

While many things are out of our control, we are all responsible for the kinds of people we surround ourselves with, and the activities we partake in.

Since life is complicated enough, there’s no need to add to those complications, and make your life more stressful than need be.

Take a look at these 5 ridiculously easy ways to quickly simplify your life.

5. Make a decision.

Almost everyone is guilty of overanalyzing each possibility or choice at one point or another, but really all you end up doing is giving yourself more to stress and worry about, and eating up your precious time.

For major decisions, not every choice can be as simple as picking out of a hat, but when it comes to the small stuff like where you’ll go out for dinner, just make a decision, commit to it, and move on. You’ll be surprised at how freeing it feels to finally be decisive.

4. Stop multitasking.

If you want to waste your time and do lots of things poorly, then multitasking is great. If not, it’s time to drop the inefficient work method. Not only does multitasking not work, research has also shown that it increases stress, and lowers overall productivity.

Instead, try focusing on one task at a time, and be fully engaged in your actions.

3. Learn how to say no.

It can be tempting to say ‘yes’ to everyone in an attempt to please them, but being a people pleaser is a quick way to complicate your own life, and have you running  around doing things you don’t want to do for other people.

Instead of thinking that saying ‘no’ is rude, remind yourself that you can politely decline a request or invitation that doesn’t improve, add to, or fulfill your life in some way. You’ll be amazed at how liberating it feels to say no to something, and how quickly your time will open up to what’s important to you.

2. Disconnect entirely for one hour a day.

Technology is supposed to simplify your life, however, it often ends up complicating it. Instead of letting it take over your life, try taking an hour each day to digitally detox by shutting off phones, tablets, and computers.

It will feel shocking at first, but that hour will force you to pay attention to yourself and everyone else around you.

1. Stop worrying about people who don’t worry about you.

Relationships with friends, and loved ones should be invigorating and inspiring, not stressful or draining. Take a few minutes to evaluate your most important relationships and ask yourself if those people would worry about you like you do about them.

If the answer to that questions is no for anyone in your life, consider letting go of that relationship a bit to open up your life for more fulfilling relationships. You don’t have to cut them out of your life completely, but you have to recognize that you shouldn’t complicate your own life for someone who doesn’t value you as much as they should.

There may have been a few mix-ups during Sunday night’s Miss Universe 2015 beauty pageant, but there’s no question that Miss Slovenia stole the show.

Miss Slovenia’s Ana Halozan had been preparing for her moment on stage for months, but all that hard work disappeared in seconds when she suffered from an unexpected seizure, which left the right side of her face completely paralyzed.

When she woke up in the hospital, doctors told her she wouldn’t be able to attend the pageant. Despite not being allowed to compete in this year’s show, Ana still managed to have her moment.

“Ana has always had big dreams,” Ana’s mom Mojca Marovt said. “When she gets some idea in her head, nothing will stop her.”

“She thought she had lost her chance, but she didn’t,” Steve said as he welcomed Ana to the stage. “Let’s give her that moment for fulfilling her dream of walking on the Miss Universe stage with her friends. Please welcome Miss Universe Slovenia.”

“When they say to me in hospital that I can’t go to the pageant, I was, like, are you joking with me? I will go,” Ana said.

A trip to the bank turned into a life-changing experience for some very lucky customers, proving that some companies recognize the importance of loyalty and good service.

Much like this incredible video, where kindhearted airline WestJet performed more than 12,000 “mini miracles” in one night to give back this holiday season, TD Bank went above and beyond to thank some of their long-time customers.

In the following video, we see a few average people visiting TD Bank ATM branches in four locations across Canada.

They assumed they were at a regular ATM when they walk up to deposit or take out cash, and check their balances, but they were quickly surprised by a voice revealing that the situation was anything but normal.

The voice told the lucky TD Bank customers that they were visiting a special ATM, an “Automated Thanking Machine” to reward them for choosing their bank year after year.

From one grandmother who was struggling to care for her sick daughter across the globe to another mom who just wanted to do something special for her kids, the patrons were shocked when things like airplane tickets, toys, flowers and extra cold hard cash came out of the machine.

Whether they’re out on the streets scrapping for survival or trapped behind bars at a shelter, countless dogs will remain invisible and unloved this holiday season.

In the following video, we meet one of the lucky ones, a dog who had his only wish granted on a very special day of the year. This incredible story is proof that animal rescuers are some of the greatest people on our planet. When World Animal Awareness Society got the call about a stray dog in Detroit in need on Christmas Eve, their amazing team of heroes didn’t hesitate to rush to his rescue.

The poor pooch had been living alone in this abandoned house for an unknown amount of time, until the Christmas angels arrived.

Many innocent animals raised in abusive environments never know what it’s like to be loved unconditionally or belong to a family. The lucky ones who do get rescued, however, can become some of the most gentle and loving animals despite their rocky start.

When Pickles, a now 3-month-old Pit Bull puppy, was found abandoned on the side of the road, it was clear he had been abused and desperately needed help. Nicki Johnson has fostered dozens of dogs over the years, and when she heard about Pickles, she knew she had to step in.

As a baby, Pickles’ abusers cut off his ears, and then left him on the side of the road. As if he didn’t have it hard enough, doctors discovered he had stage 5 pulmonic stenosis, a potentially deadly heart condition, when Nicki brought him into the vet. With the financial support from strangers’ donations, Nicki was able to schedule a surgery to fix the condition.

After Pickles finally gets the chance to heal, Nicki plans to train him as a therapy dog for sick kids. “This dog has the potential to really help a lot of other people and a lot of other kids, and I’d like to do anything I can to make that happen.”

Despite his traumatic start, Nikki says the three-month-old has the perfect temperament to be a therapy dog. “I think anybody would be terrified of people if you were held down as a child and your ears cut off. But he loves everybody.”

Most parents have a farewell with their children in the morning that may involve tears or tantrums, but this father/son goodbye is nothing but love. 

In the video below, dad gets in his car to head off for work, and his diaper-clad son chases the car screaming “I love you daddy!” 

But he doesn’t just say it once, Colton continues this outpour of love for three minutes. 

And when his father told him, “I love you, take care of mommy,” Colton responds, “I love you daddy! Be careful Daddy!” 

It is a send-off that any parent would melt over. 

In a world where we’re always in a rush, it is really nice to see this father’s patience with his adorably persistent son. And one thing’s for sure- there’s no shortage of love in this household!

When most teachers simply take class attendance to begin their morning, Sonya Romero of Lew Wallace Elementary school in Albuquerque, New Mexico, has a more difficult task.

Every day, Sonya asks her students if they have had anything to eat, and if they need clean clothes, and she spends, at least, one hour tending to these basic needs.

75 percent of Romero’s students live in poverty, so taking care of their primary needs are her top priority.

Part of Sonya’s teaching philosophy is that every child can learn if they feel safe, and part of her job is creating an environment where they can feel safe, regardless of what their circumstance is at home. 

Sonya was surprised back in March when she was just a guest on The Ellen Show, and Ellen DeGeneres called her up on stage.

Ellen heard about all the good that Sonya does for her students and that she recently took in two children to her home when child protective services were about to take them from the school.

Sonya told Ellen that she believes “as an educator, you’re also sort of a first responder.” So she went out and bought clothes, jammies and toothbrushes for the two children, and they have been living with her ever since (for over 6 months now).

Ellen wanted to honor Sonya when she heard about her heroism, so she surprised this very deserving teacher in an incredible way:
