There’s nothing we love more than our pets, and when it comes to our pets, we love watching them do human things. Whether it’s dogs that talk like people, look like people, or in this case, act like people, we’re slowly turning our dogs into people.

A Youtube video posted by piccobellohunde is going viral. It shows a very hungry dog (which is every dog), as he is waited on my his human staff. The dog has a flair for the finer things in life and it cracked up the audience that watched the display.

3. Write out tomorrow’s top 3 goals.

If your to-do list feels endless, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed with all the things you have to get done, and actually end up getting none of it accomplished. Instead, take a few minutes each night to write down the top three things you’d like to get done the following day.

Identifying the most important things on your list will keep you from getting overwhelmed, and give you a sense of direction as you start the day. Over time, the more you successfully accomplish your three goals, the more confidence you’ll have in your ability to fulfill goals.

2. Make your bedroom an oasis.

The environment you create for yourself in your bedroom will have a huge impact on your day-to-day life since you spend about a third of your life in your bedroom. The bedroom is meant for sleeping and relaxation, not eating snacks, or catching up on TV.

By de-cluttering the space and removing distractions like televisions and computers, you’ll get much better sleep, which will improve your ability to focus and handle life’s daily stressors.

1. Get your beauty sleep.

In order to have a positive and productive week, you need to have a solid foundation of sleep. No matter how prepared you are for the upcoming day, you’ll never have a great day if you haven’t gotten enough sleep.

Most adults need about seven to nine hours of sleep each night to let their bodies fully restore themselves, so be sure to set an appropriate bed time depending on what time you have to wake up.

Digging yourself out after a bad snow storm can deter even the most determined person, but it’ll take more than just a little chilly weather to stop this squirrel from going about his day.

Despite the freezing temperatures, the squirrel faced his snow plowing duties head on by literally using his face to plow through the snow.

This squirrel got up bright and early to start clearing his path from all the fresh snow that was blocking his way.

By the looks of it, however, it’s going to take him quite a while to clear the snow off the rest of his telephone wires.

An Erie, Pennsylvania man is showing pet owners exactly how to make the best of a devastating situation.

On December 2, 2015, Todd Burchanowski wrote a heartbreaking post on Facebook. “Today, I received the worst possible news…My dog and best friend, Reyes, was diagnosed with terminal cancer.”

“As heartbroken as it makes me feel, I know I have some great friends and family to help us through this time.”

Burchanowski continued that at the suggestion of  friends, he would help make 8-year-old Reyes’ final days her best yet by accompanying the dog on a Bucket List adventure. “I have asked people who have been a huge part of Reyes’ life to list some tasks that they would like to see completed.” he wrote on Facebook, accompanied by the photo below.

“Tonight I started with nephew, my man Bennett. He asked to see Reyes’ picture taken on a firetruck!

The 36-year-old school teacher has been making good on his promise to the poodle/beagle mix, by compiling the list of 81 different things to accomplish in the two months Reyes has to live.

The bucket list includes everything from driving in a jeep with her head out the window, to a Pet Smart shopping spree, to a relaxing bubble bath, to helping out with a live newscast.

For the Tipton family, finding the perfect animal to make a part their family was a challenge, but they knew immediately when they spotted a rescue kitten they later named Doc.

Doc was found after surviving a tragic incident that severely damaged her right paw, which had to be amputated to save her life.This injury may have turned most families away, but the Tipton’s knew she was meant for their family since their two-year-old daughter named Scarlette was also an amputee.

“She recognizes that the cat has similar struggles as she does,” mom Simone Tipton said.

Scarlette was born with a rare form of cancer that forced doctors to amputate her left arm in order to save her life. While the surgery was a success, the amputation was overwhelming for a 10-month-old, and so the family searched for a family pet that would help her during her recovery.

“We really wanted to get her an animal that she could kind of relate to, something that she can grow-up with and feel like she has a special bond with,” Simone said.

Finally, the family heard of a cat who lost a leg in a tragic incident, and knew they had to adopt her. “Scarlette was really excited, she absolutely loves cats. She did notice that Doc had staples on her side and said ‘owies’. I let her know that she had owies just like her, and she placed her hand on her side and just nodded,” Simone told Love Meow.

Detective Jack Mook thought he enjoyed life as a typical bachelor until two young boys ended up changing his life forever.

In his spare time, the Pittsburgh, PA police detective and Iraq war Army veteran would work out and volunteer at his local boxing gym, often helping underprivileged kids in the area.

The “tough guy” 46-year-old cop especially took a liking to two brothers, Joshua and Jessee, becoming their mentor and trainer. When Joshua, a young teen, stopped showing up for practice with the man he calls Coach, Mook went looking for him and was shocked by what he found.

The orphan boys were living in an extremely abusive and neglectful home, in complete squalor. Immediately, Mook knew he had to do something to help.

“They have had it as worse as any other kid that’s ever lived in the city of Pittsburgh, living conditions wise,” Mook tells CBS News in the following video.  So the detective pulled some strings and became the boys’ foster parent, and soon after their adoptive father.

However, nothing could prepare the lifelong bachelor for what happened next.

“I thought being single was fun because you don’t have any responsibilities. But when you’re single, you don’t realize what you’re missing.” Mook says in the video about his new wife Mary, who sought him out after hearing his amazing story.

Now Mook and his adoptive sons live with Mary and her three kids, proving that all you need to build a family is love.

When it comes to 3D-printing, the possibilities are endless for creating new solutions to tricky problems plaguing humans and even animals.

Derby the 2-year-old Husky mix was born with a birth defect that left his two front legs and paws, which made it impossible for him to walk. Over the years, Derby and his owners have tried everything to make him mobile. Finally, after all their hard work, Derby is finally being fitted with a pair of prosthetic legs that will let him walk like a normal dog of his size.

Last year, Derby was given his first pair of 3D-printed legs. In order to let him adjust to walking properly, the first legs were much lower to the ground.

But now, Derby is getting fitter with a new pair that are taller and allow him to walk and sit upright like a normal dog.

Solo travel has been on the rise lately. What was once looked at as a dangerous practice is now being embraced as a “coming of age” experience.

If you have lived this life to any extent, you have probably come to realize the beauty of distance. When an issue is right up in your face, you can’t see it properly. It isn’t until you take a step back and reflect that the image becomes clear.

Traveling is like that. It allows you to step back from the portrait of your issues and analyze them from a distance. Without the daily hum-drum of your problems and routine, you can get a better sense of clarity, and yes, run away from your problems (to an extent).

People who travel alone are wise because they know the beauty of escaping from their problems and leaving it all behind. They know that nothing clears a mind better than self-dependence and adventure. The best way to achieve this freedom from one’s own’s thoughts is by exploring a new land.

Solo travelers enjoy being with themselves.

When you travel alone, you have no choice but to spend long amounts of time with yourself, sight seeing by yourself. Nothing encourages confidence more than a pleasant meal alone in a coffee shop, followed by twenty more of these solo meals. It takes confidence to travel to a foreign place (even if it’s only a few states over) without the reassurance that comes with friends.

Traveling alone will help you embrace the fear that lives outside your comfort zone.

When you travel by yourself, you know what you are getting yourself into. It isn’t going to be easy and it won’t be all fun and games. There will be stress and if you get lost, you’ll have nobody but yourself to rely on. Those who travel alone know this going in, yet they embrace the opportunity for growth.

Sometimes life throws lemons at you and other times you seek them out yourself, in the hopes that these small and welcomed obstacles will help you grow. They always will. A person who sees the beauty in a challenge is wise enough to know that anything that is worth it, usually isn’t easy. The challenge of being in an unfamiliar land by yourself is worth the reward that comes later.

If you yearn to travel solo, you are mature.

You have recognized the value of being your own company and you know that nurturing yourself sometimes requires you to remove yourself. You allow yourself to be put in an uncomfortable situation for the sake of growth and experience. Own the experience and all the challenges that come with it and you will come out a better person in the end.

If you’ve ever wanted to impress the ladies (or fellas) with your unique, artistic expression, watch this video.

This is the most impressive life hack you’re going to see all month. Youtuber Sam Tucker who operates the channel SAMTIME wants you to learn to play piano, without knowing how to play piano. He made a video that will actually teach you a useful party trick in less than three minutes. I have to admit, when I first came across Sam’s video, I was skeptical and expected a few jokes without any real skill.

Three minutes later, I walked into my family’s living room, sat down at my mom’s piano, and to her surprise, spat out what could pass for a tune. Can I now play Bach and Mozart? Definitely not, but I will certainly be using this trick to impress people in the future. Sam Tucker outlines it quite simply.

First: only play the Black Keys.

No, not their music (remember you can’t actually play the piano). Stick strictly to the literal black keys on the keyboard or piano and you’ll be in good shape. This is because the black keys (sharps and flats) tend to sound better together than the basic white keys.

Second: only play with one hand.

When looking at a piano, you’ll see a repeating pattern (you got this, I believe in you). Put one finger on a black key, and then find that same note eight spaces away. When you play them together, they’ll sound like they work in unison, mainly because they do!

Third: use your other hand to tap out notes in a row:

So you’re playing two notes with one hand. Don’t worry, you already sound like a pro. If you add in a little ditty with the other hand, you’ll really bring the magic together. Tap out notes that are next to each other, simply going up and down in sets of two or three. Pair this with your other hand, and you’ll sound like the Piano Man.

Seriously, we’re shocked at how well this trick works. We can’t wait to impress snobby people at dinner parties:

We often think that raccoons are dirty animals who will eat just about anything they get their little paws on. While these creatures might eat just about anything, they are at least known for thoroughly washing their food before eating it.

Unfortunately for this little guy, he has to find out the hard way that cotton candy and water is a recipe for disaster.

This raccoon was eager to taste this sugary treat, but made sure to clean it off before his feast.

Yet the minute the cotton candy touched the water, it instantly dissolved from his hands. The puzzled raccoon tried desperately to grasp at the pink cloud in the water, but it was too late.

When 3-year-old Adalard was brought into Montgomery County Animal Shelter, the future looked grim for this sweet Boxer. Sadly, after veterinarians atLone Star Boxer Rescue tested the dog and found an inoperable brain tumor behind his skull, it was clear he would only live about two days.

That’s when Lone Star’s director Leisha Stinchcombe decided to pull “Addy” from the shelter and find a foster. As she told Huffington Post, “Just to make sure he knows love for a few days.”

I’m not sure that he understands the severity of his illness but he surely doesn’t let it hinder his zest for the remaining life he has. Although Stinchcombe worried the terminal dog would be unsafe around Lori and James Anderson’s children, when she heard why Lori wanted her family to give the dog love in his final days, she couldn’t refuse.

“I think it’s extremely important that the girls learn about giving, loving and helping others in need, especially when they can’t care for themselves.” Anderson told Huffington Post.

The Andersons were advised by veterinarians that the best thing they could do for Addy was to “spoil him rotten,” which is exactly what they’ve been doing.

The dog has made a special connection with 5-year-old Ellie, who was born with Asperger’s Syndrome.

Many grown men, nevermind six-year-olds, don’t know what it means to be polite and have good table manners, but this mom is making sure her son learns these important lessons early.

Every month, this 6-year-old boy named Lyle takes his mom out on a dinner date to a restaurant where he not only opens doors for her, pulls out her chair, and ask each other questions about their day, but also pays the bill with the money he’s earned from his chores. “Too many men these days have no idea how to treat women or how to take them on a nice date. It’s nice to know my son won’t be one of them,” mom Nikkole Paulun said.

“I am teaching him how to treat a lady & how to take her on a proper date. How to show that he respects the woman he loves (right now that would be mommy).”

“We put our phone and iPad away (except to take this photo) and sit and talk to each other about our days, things we want to do, etc,” Paulun wrote on a post to Facebook. I’m teaching him proper table manners and that it’s rude to sit on your phone on a date with your mom or with anyone else. He learns the value of money and how to manage it.“

“Yes, he is young, but I believe this is something he should learn now. It’s never too early to teach your child how to properly respect others, especially women. As a woman who has been abused & treated like crap in the past, it’s extremely important to me that I teach my son how to show respect,” Paulun wrote.

Soldiers are prepared to sacrifice everything, including their own lives for their countries, but when Shaun Stocker woke up in a hospital after being blown up by a bomb in Afghanistan, he realized his chances at being a father were gone. Luckily, however, one doctor’s quick thinking gave him hope.

Shaun was part of the Royal Welsh Regiment, but at the age of 19, lost both his legs, reproductive organs, and was blinded. However, while Shaun was in a coma, his doctor managed to save and freeze some of his sperm so that he could one day become a father through IVF.

“Theo is the son I never thought I’d be able to have and it is all because of the brilliance of Dr Jackson Kirkman-Brown,” Shaun said. “For me personally, Theo’s arrival marks the conclusion of my rehabilitation.”

After one course of IVF, his fiancee, Persia, became pregnant with their son Theo who was born on Christmas.

“I’ve spent the past five years recovering from my injuries and getting myself fixed up physically so I’d be able to look after a family. I feel like now I have everything a man could want,” Shaun told the Daily Mail. “I knew I’d love Theo, but I never knew I’d love him this much. I’ve never been happier. It’s amazing.”

Yet of all the amazing organizations and individuals out there doing their part to help, nothing compares to the work and example that Humane Society of the United States does for our country.

Just before Christmas, HSUS answered the call from a local shelter about animals in need, and they set out for rural Adams County, Ohio.

There, they found a true nightmare, far worse from what they had imagined. More than 160 dogs and cats were suffering from sickness, neglect and abuse.

On the HSUS website, Ohio state director Corey Roscoe said, “These dogs and cats were in a terrible situation – the owner had too many animals and was unable to provide adequate care.”

One can only imagine what it was like to walk into such a heartbreaking place, especially once they noticed a dog who seemed different from the rest.

On YouTube, HSUS wrote “Among the sick and injured dogs was a big, boisterous chocolate lab who was chained near the front of the property. His chain had become tangled in the rotting deer carcass that served as his only food source.”

“As protocol, we scanned all 166 dogs and cats for a microchip and discovered that this lab had a name—Chuckie—and a family in Indiana who had been missing him for more than 5 years.”

Since 2010, Chuckie’s family believed their beloved dog was long gone, but thanks to these brave, selfless heroes the dog made his way home just in time for the holidays.

It’s hard to understand why anyone would want to abandon an animal for being born a little different but sadly, we see it way too often.

We recently brought you this touching story of a tiny chihuahua who was left for dead, because she was born without her two front legs. Luckily, just like in the following story, that little dog was rescued by heroes and is now a celebrity in her own right.

This time around, we meet a two-legged dog who was found roaming the streets in Peru, searching for food and shelter. However, despite Estrella’s handicap and hardship, nothing stopped this fearless stray.

We don’t usually squeal with joy when we see a bat.

Perhaps we might shriek in horror, or we simply try to run away, but bats rarely evoke a reaction similar to seeing a tiny kitten…until now.

Orphaned bats need just as much love an attention as any other critter in the animal kingdom. These baby bats, for example, lost their mother in Australia due to extreme heat. Fortunately, the Australian Bat Clinic was there to step up and the results are adorable.

Typically, mothers will wrap their baby bats up in their wings while they hang upside down. It leaves the little ones feeling nurtured and protected. However, when these baby bats lost their mothers, the animal clinic was left with an interesting alternative.

The clinic wraps up the tiny bats (like burritos!), giving them a pacifier to suck on and occassionally a bottle, when they need it:

It’s a simple, but crucial message from a most unlikely source, yet it’s one we need to listen to. For the past 20 or so years, Koko the gorilla has amazed humans with her ability to learn and fluently communicate to us through sign language.

As you can see in this incredible video, Koko, who loves all humans and animals, requested to play with a kitten for her 44th birthday. Instead, Koko’s handlers brought the lowland gorilla an entire litter to cuddle with.

This time around, the world-famous gorilla is making headlines for a much more serious reason. In a video posted to Facebook by Noé, an environmental conservation organization that worked with The Gorilla Foundation and Agency Marcel, we see Koko address the very real issue of climate change.

Whether you like to believe in what’s happening to our planet or not, you have to admit that what Koko has to say about how man is treating earth is nothing short of chilling.

We’ve seen a lot of incredible animal comeback stories over the years, but there isn’t much out there that can compare to the video below.

Meet Augustus. He’s a dog who overcame incredible odds, but most importantly, he’s a symbol for how a little bit of love can go such a long way when it comes to our animal friends.

When Augustus was brought into the Heart of Alabama Save Rescue Adopt shelter in Killen, this Border Collie mix didn’t look like a dog at all.

Due to his extremely severe case of mange, a skin disease caused by parasitic mites, Augustus was shunned by many, but thankfully the HASRA heroes finally stepped up to help this sweetheart.

Augustus was practically furless when he first started treatment on antibiotics and as we hear in the video below, his dry, painful skin “peeled off like potato chips.”

However, we learn that this brave dog wasn’t angry, bitter or dangerous after his life of abuse. Augustus was grateful and hopeful for his recovery, which made his rescuers feel the same way.

Over time, Augustus’ severe mange started to subside and his fur grew back, healthier than ever before.

It might be hard to look at this angel’s “before” photo, knowing there are countless animals out there like him, but the result of his love and treatment is something worth believing in.
