French Bulldog Puppy Is The Most Adorable Alarm Clock Ever

Having a newborn puppy is a little bit like having a baby as you have to deal with potty training, crying throughout the night, and adjusted sleep schedules.

This new puppy owner named Sean Sarantos is learning the hard way that having a newborn puppy requires tons of energy, and that there’s no time for sleep when his French Bulldog named Link, or Stinky Linky wants to play.

Luckily, when the physical trainer  does doze off for a few minutes for some rest, he has an adorable alarm clock who can’t be ignored.

Sean was fast asleep when Link decided nap time was over. At first, the French Bulldog pup adorably began nibbling on Sean’s beard to try and wake him.

When Sean won’t budge, Link knows he has to do something a bit more drastic, and begins drowning him in slobbery kisses and playfully nibbling at his face.

Dogs might look adorable dressed up in silly costumes and accessories, but they usually can’t wait to rip everything off the minute they get away from their owners. Yet, instead of ripping off his sunglasses, this English Bulldog comes up with an even more dramatic way to let his owner know he’s not happy.

When Chesty Puller, an English Bulldog, gets dressed up by his owner in a pair of bright red sunglasses, he makes it very clear that he wants nothing to do with them.

In fact, he refuses to do anything- even eat his favorite snack- until his owner takes off the detested sunglasses.

Even when his owner tempts him with his favorite treat, the stoic English Bulldog refuses to budge as long as his owner makes him wear his sunglasses.

However, as soon as the sunglasses come off, the dramatic dog jumps to his feet to snatch the delicious treats from his owners hands.

One-Eyed Dog Rescued Hours Before Being Euthanized, Goes Missing, And Is Found On Ski Slope

Meet Perry, the one-eyed rescue from San Antonio who has had quite the adventure.

Perry may look like he’s sharing some really juicy gossip with you, but this is only because he lost an eye due to unknown reasons. Now, the happy dog has an eternal wink on his face, which pairs nicely with his almost constant smile.

Perry also knows how to play a GREAT pirate!

[Credit: MLive]
[Credit: MLive]
However, Perry’s journey toward becoming a pirate was a long path that began when he was brought to a San Antonio shelter. His owners could no longer care for the poor beast and due to his missing eye, he had an unlikely chance of being adopted. For this reason, the shelter placed him on the list of dogs that would be euthanized.

However, hours before Perry was scheduled to be put down on September 29, Perry’s “last day,” Compass Dog Rescue stepped in and adopted the dog.

Compass is an organization whose purpose is to rescue dogs from kill shelters in the south and bring them safely to forever homes in the north. Perry was one of the lucky dogs who was rescued by this organization.

[Credit: MLive]
[Credit: MLive]
After being rescued from the shelter, Perry was taken to a foster home in Texas, where a family lovingly took him in and treated him for a case of heartworm he had picked up in the shelter. He was fostered two and a half months.

Then on December 10, Perry was on his way to Michigan to live with another foster family until a forever home could be found for him (like I said, he’s had quite the journey). But this is where the story gets really interesting.

On Sunday, January 3, Perry got loose while being moved up north. He ran away on a major Michigan highway and was lost for almost a week. For days, volunteers searched areas around where Perry went missing. Five days after he ran free, ski patrol from the nearby Mount Holly found the missing dog under the deck of a chair lift. The ski patrol rescuer said he was cold and hungry, but he still needed to be lured out with a hotdog!

My daughter skied down to the cafeteria and brought back a ham and cheese sandwich which he loved. Unfortunately, that wasn’t enough to get him all of the way out. She went back and brought a kogel’s hotdog! That was the ticket.

This is a photo from when Perry was being rescued:

[Credit: MLive]
[Credit: MLive]
We hope Perry is getting all the hot dogs he wants now. Fortunately, he is back en route to his final destination, and hopefully Perry’s adventures won’t get much more complicated.

Little Girl Does Not Believe Dad When He Tells Her Where Snow Comes From

little girl

Trying to explain to a toddler how the weather works can be difficult, but the key is to keep it simple.

This is exactly the approach this dad took when trying to explain where snow comes from to his little girl.

Dad simply said, “It falls from the sky and blankets everything.”  And all this toddler can say is, “Daddy’s funny.”

Daddy continues, “You don’t believe it?” and his little girl says, “Nope.” All the while, she is hysterically laughing, making it impossible for dad to keep a straight face.

Clearly this cutie does not have much confidence in her pops, but we’re sure that’ll change once she gets older.

Watch this little girl adorably deny the possibility that snow comes from the sky and please SHARE it with your friends on Facebook!

Did anyone else notice this genius bib she is wearing? It catches any food coming out of her mouth, how incredible!

Service dogs can serve many roles in our lives- caretaker, protector and best friend are to name a few.

But for Bride Valerie Parrott, her 3-year-old yellow lab served a very important role in her life- helping her get through her wedding day.

For many brides-to-be, it is normal to feel anxious or nervous before the big day. But Valerie’s concerns run much deeper than that as she suffers from anxiety and has frequent migraines that affect her daily life. Two years ago, Valerie from Sioux Falls, South Dakota was matched with Bella, who acts as her service dog and helps her cope with her anxiety.

Parrott writes on her blog, The [Service] Dog in the Room:

“Bella’s medical alert title refers to her ability to predict and inform me of different type of body changes such as rapid heart beat that may lead to more serious issues such as panic attacks, dizzy spells and other issues involved with my medical condition.”

Naturally as her wedding approached, Valerie’s anxiety worsened. “A lot of girls experience their first panic attack leading up to weddings,” she blogged. “A lot of girls with these disorders double their number of normal panic attacks.”

But luckily for Parrott, her loyal dog was right by her side as it came time to walk down the aisle.

Photographer and owner of Mad Photo & Design, Maddie Peschong was there to capture every touching moment of the bride and her groom, Andrew Parrott’s big day, and Bella was right by Valerie’s side.

Bella would calm Parrott by licking her hands and leaning against her.

If you think only dogs can be man’s best friend, think again. These elephants in Thailand are giving canines some serious competition!

It’s always incredible to see how two different species interact with one another, but the following video proves once and for all that if you show animals the love and respect they deserve, they will return it in tenfold.

Much like this adorable baby elephant who loves to give hugs, the elephant herd in the following video have very special relationships with the humans who care for them.

Filmed at Elephant Nature Park, a sanctuary and rescue center for animals in Chiang Mai Province, Northern Thailand, an area where elephants are often abused, enslaved, and exploited by humans, we see one of the workers approaching a friendly herd of young and old elephants on his tractor.

Now, normally when a gigantic elephant comes rushing towards you, it’s a good idea to run or hide, but the man knew not to be afraid of these gentle giants. Instead of stampeding the tractor driver, the herd went right up to greet him and receive some kisses and love.

There’s no denying that these elephants are so grateful to be in the nature park, away from the bad people who hurt them before. I’m so happy they don’t have to live in fear anymore!

Most nurses will tell you that when a patient comes in, they often have no way of knowing who they are or how to contact someone in their family.

But recently, a hospital employee named Julia Thompson has discovered something we may have all known about on our iPhone’s, but never put to use.

On our iPhones, there is a free app called Health. The icon looks like this:

Once you open the Health app, a menu bar appears at the bottom of the screen, and at the far-right is a Medical ID icon that you can press to enter any important medical information.

You can fill out categories such as Medical Conditions, Blood Type, Allergies & Reactions and Medications, or anything that might help an emergency responder treat you in an urgent situation.

Julia Thompson posted this on her Facebook page in September, and we really think it’s useful information that can help many people:

Stray Dogs In Moscow Have Mastered Riding The Subway System And It’s Incredible

weirdrussia.com

In Moscow, it is not uncommon to find a stray dog riding your subway train, and even taking up a seat or two.

It is actually so common that people don’t even find it strange anymore.

Moscow is home to approximately 35,000 stray dogs and they can be found everywhere from markets and construction sites looking for food and trying to survive. They have adapted to city life and they commute like regular people knowing exactly which stations to get in and out.

It’s pretty heartbreaking that this is what the strays need to do to survive, but at least they are being proactive. Dr. Andrei Poyarkov is a Biologist in Moscow and has been studying stray dogs there for the past 30 years. He says:

“There are all sorts of stray dogs, but no stupid dogs. The street is tough and it’s survival of the fittest. These clever dogs know people much better than people know them.”

Credit: englishrussia.com
Credit: englishrussia.com

Usually, the dogs will know the best spots in the train station where people will feed them food, and packs have even learned to send out the smaller, cuter dogs to beg for food because they’ve figured out bigger and less attractive dogs aren’t as successful.

Credit: fellowshipoftheminds.com
Credit: fellowshipoftheminds.com

Zoologist Alexei Vereshchagin, who is Dr. Poyarkov’s graduate student says Moscow’s strays have also been observed obeying traffic lights and doing the bark-and-grab. The bark-and-grab is when a dog will jump up behind a person in an attempt to scare them so they can drop their food on the ground.

The amount of strays in Moscow is an ever-growing problem however, and Vereshchagin continues, “It’s not really easy to completely move the dogs out of the streets,” he says. “I guess we just have to… learn how to live with them.”

Homeless Man Asked To Sing With A Street Performer And The Result Is Beautiful

homeless man

Jonathan Walker is used to singing on the streets, as he has been a busker for many years.

While walking through Leeds, England on New Years Eve, Jonathan recognized a homeless man in a wheelchair whom he has seen many times before. He described the man as one whose health and wellbeing have seemed to deteriorate over the past couple of years. The homeless man, whose name is Bernard Davey asked if he could join Jonathan for a song, and what happened next was something no one was expecting!

The two sang a version of Summertime, and Walker was so blown away by Davey’s incredible voice, he asked a passerby to capture the moment on his camera. Walker uploaded the video to his YouTube and said:

“My spontaneous street jam with Bernard Davey was a soul-affirming, enriching experience which summed up everything I love about street culture. The streets are full of wonderful surprises and stories. I hope Bernard’s amazing improvised version of ‘Summertime’ helps people to remember not to judge people they see on the streets according to their appearances, but to always look below the surface appearance and find the person underneath.”

This is not a video to be missed, as the moment we heard Davey’s voice we were completely blown away. We could compare it to Ted Williams, the former homeless man with the “golden” radio voice, because Davey’s singing voice is that good.

This should be a lesson for all of us that we should never judge a book by its cover because there’s so much more we don’t know.

Please watch this truly incredible and unexpected performance and SHARE it with your friends and family on Facebook!

Not only does he save lives on the job, this heroic also saved the day for hundreds at a recent basketball game.

Police Officer Carlton Smith gave a fabulous impromptu performance of the Star-Spangled Banner at a recent West Virginia University and University of Kansas basketball game. When Leslie Dorchester, the scheduled singer, couldn’t make it due to being stuck in a snowstorm, Smith was given five minutes to prepare.

“Any chance I get to do the national anthem is always a big deal to me,” Smith told Inside Edition as he recalled his performance. “I was just basically hoping I didn’t mess it up too much.”

Screen Shot 2016-01-19 at 12.01.40 PM
[YouTube]

Smith had been working security during the game in West Virginia, so he was not expecting to be called upon for performing this patriotic duty.

However, he killed it with his performance, which was caught on video. Afterwards, we see the crowd erupting in cheers and applauding the officer as he walks from the court.

Watch the officer totally nail it with barely any preparation:

But Smith wasn’t just called upon just by coincidence.

When the scheduled singer didn’t show up, someone remembered Smith was a 2014 American Idol contestant. While working as a police officer is his day job, the officer with a powerful set of pipes said singing is his real passion.

Hopefully, this man will make all his dreams come true. If you enjoyed his patriotic performance and would like to help him achieve those dreams, please SHARE with friends and family!

Elephants can be extremely playful creatures, however, they can sometimes forget just how big they really are.

When this rambunctious elephant decided to play a game of peekaboo with a passing car on Victoria Falls Road, it forgot how alarming it is for tiny humans to see a charging elephant.

Once the driver processed the huge shock, he drove off quickly, and left the huge elephant to come up with new ways to entertain itself.

The rowdy elephant hid in the bushes and greenery on the side of the road and waited patiently for a passing car.

You may not think a giant cattle dog has much in common with a tiny kitten, but as you’ll see in the following touching story, there’s a perfect mate for everyone.

Ralphee is a tiny Manx kitten who was born with a neurological disorder known as feline cerebellar hypoplasia, according to Adam Cox, who posted the video below to Rumble via Wakaleo Animal Channel.

“A kitten is born with “CH” when their cerebellum, the part of the brain that controls fine motor skills and coordination, is underdeveloped at birth.”

“

These cats are known for their “drunken sailor” walk, which is why they’re known endearingly as ‘wobbly cats’.”

[Rumble]
Luckily for little Ralphee, the poster tells us that his condition will not get worse and his life expectancy
will be the same as any other cat…and as we learn in the tear-jerking video, Ralphee’s condition doesn’t affect his ability to make friends, either.

After Ralphee was rescued from a barn near a horse stable, Max the cattle dog took the tiny kitten in as one of his own.

“Max is never far away.” Cox wrote on Rumble. “He appears to be forever curious and watches over Ralphee wherever she goes.”

“Despite her condition, Ralphee is a happy cat who, like most kittens loves affection and causing all sorts of trouble wherever she goes.

Caring for an abandoned animal is especially difficult as their wounds can go far beyond the surface.

When Karen Trendler and staff at the Thula Thula Rhino Orphanage in South Africa found a sick baby elephant they nicknamed ‘Ellie’, they quickly learned his physical pain was nothing compared to him emotional trauma.

After caring for his infections and finding a diet plan that would work for him, the caretakers knew they had to find him a companion.

Baby Ellie was getting round the clock care, but as his body recovered, it became clear to caretakers how depressed he was after being rejected by his herd.

Prepare for your mind to be blown!

Moritz is a pig from Germany who is a puzzle-solving, and piano playing genius.

He received fame on YouTube when his owner/caretaker posted a video of him solving a pig puzzle. As his human gives him a puzzle with three colors on it- yellow, blue and red, Moritz has to match the colors in their respective slots. Little Moritz grabs each puzzle piece by the pig-friendly rope that attaches to it and effectively solves the entire puzzle in under 1 minute!

There is ever-growing research on the intelligence of pigs, and according to Neuroscientist Lori Marino of Emory University and The Nonhuman Rights Project:

“We have shown that pigs share a number of cognitive capacities with other highly intelligent species such as dogs, chimpanzees, elephants, dolphins, and even humans. “There is good scientific evidence to suggest we need to rethink our overall relationship to them.”

Watch Moritz truly impress you in the video below, and prove how smart pigs really are:

Did you know Beagles are the one type of dog used more often than any other for painful, harsh, and inhumane animal testing procedures?

According to animal welfare group Occupy For Animals, it’s because of the breed’s middle ground size and their sweet, passive, and trusting nature.

So although dogs are known as Man’s Best Friend, humans still take advantage of their confidence in us and subject these poor, helpless creatures to a lifetime of suffering.

[YouTube]
[YouTube]
Luckily for those brave Beagles who are still trapped in cages, ARME’s Beagle Freedom Project is committed to freeing every one of these prisoners to give them the happy, free life they deserve.

In the following video from BFP on YouTube, we learn of one of the most successful rescues of all time. BFP coordinated a release of 38 different Beagles used by companies for testing across 12 states in the U.S.

From Oregon, all the way around the country to the Northeast, the 38 prisoners were taken away from their lives behind bars and given the second chance they never knew was even possible.

[YouTube]
[YouTube]
These dogs had never known a human’s love, they never felt the freedom of running around in grass, they were never even able to interact with one another.

When you see how much their lives have changed, it’s guaranteed to touch your heart. As stated in the moving BFP video, “The labs gave them numbers, their new families gave them names.”
