When an English woman was trying to get creative in redesigning her daughter’s room, she created a work of art.

Kerry Wright of Manfield has a two-year-old daughter who loves to read. At least, she loves to sit and pretend to read. The little girl hasn’t picked up on that skill quite yet, so she often sits and mumbles words to herself while looking at the pretty pictures.

Inspired by her daughter’s tenacity and creativity, Kerry called up her brother who’s a professional painter. Together, they put their heads together and created a room that the little girl would cherish for a long time.

The family made the perfect fairytale forrest, drawing upon inspirational characters and pretty pictures that would awe any child’s active imagination.

Kerry spared no expense making sure every detail was perfect. Check out this awesome doorknob, shaped like a familiar character…

crying

Sometimes animals can be so cute that you could just cry.

That was exactly what happened with this little boy name Zayden.

When mom, Debbie Rochelle took Zayden to the pet store to look at animals, he was given a chihuahua to hold and he had the most overwhelming reaction.

Mom asked, “what’s wrong?” and Zayden replied, “She’s just so beautiful.”

He was so overcome with emotion that tears began falling profusely from his eyes, and the sweet chihuahua wound up licking each tear!

Anyone that has a dog will know that sometimes when you cry, they lick your falling tears, and it’s the cutest thing ever!

We really hope for this little boy’s sake that his mom wound up getting him the chihuahua, because he really seemed to love her.

The odds may have been stacked against this little trooper, but Alby the tenacious baby turtle shocked everyone with his unique coloring and determination for making it all the way to the ocean.

Alby was just one of the 122 baby turtles from his nest, yet was left behind when all his brothers and sisters hatched days earlier and made their way to the ocean. Volunteers from the Coolum and North Shore Coast Care group went to check the nest a few days later to collect data, but spotted the straggler laying on his back in the sand at the bottom of the nest.

The volunteer environmental group have been monitoring the beaches where Alby was born for 9 years, yet he was the first albino Green turtle the group had ever seen at the site. In fact, albino turtles only occur every once in hundreds of thousands of eggs.

Green turtle hatchlings have their work cut out for them as it is with predators and habitat loss, but this unique baby has an even tougher road ahead. “Normally they don’t survive coming out of the nest, and when they do, they’re abnormal and not well suited to the environment,” said Dr. Col Limpus.

Despite the odds being low for the baby turtle to make it out of the nest, Alby looked strong as he managed to crawl all the way to the water to begin his journey from his birthplace to the continental shelf.

Paul Smith was born was severe spastic cerebral palsy, but he learned from a young age an incredible way to express his passion for art.

Smith began learning how to use the typewriter located in his childhood bedroom, and after teaching himself just 10 symbol keys, he was able to create hundreds of portraits and landscapes that are nothing shy of incredible.

What’s so amazing about Paul is that he is unable to feed and bathe himself, and it is impossible for him to use a brush or a pen, but it comes to a typewriter, he hits the ball out of the park!

Emmy award-winning reporter John Stofflet, interviewed Smith and posted the video of him below saying, “Paul’s movements are severely limited, his determination, endless.”

Paul’s incredible artwork lines the walls of Rose Haven Nursing Center in Oregon, where he has lived for 40 years and created most of his art. Paul considers the staff and the members of the home his family, and for years, he has inspired every person that he came across.

One nursing home employee said, “[Paul] is even more inspiring than his art.” Another said, when people tell Paul, I can never do that,” Paul responds, “What can you do?”

Paul says that his joy in life is finding ways to be creative and that the typewriter gives him something to do. Although he sadly passed at the age of 85 in 2007, his work still remains on the hallways of the home, and Paul inspires everyone who hears his story.

After this dog fell down an old 100 foot well, he was trapped without food or water for hours as no one could come up with a way to safely remove him without getting trapped as well.

Rather than give up, volunteers from Animal Aid Unlimited, a rescue centre, hospital and sanctuary for sick and homeless animals in India, worked tirelessly to find a way to rescue the trapped dog. “Rocks broke off and crumbled when we tested them to see if we could safely lower our rescuer, Ganpat,” the organization wrote in a post on their Facebook. “We tried to approach from every angle before deciding it was just too dangerous to descend by rope. So we drove across the city and hired a crane to come to assist the rescue.”

Because of the crumbling walls of the well, the rescue team couldn’t risk lowering someone down with a rope, so the team had to get creative to think of a solution. Eventually, they were able to get a crane and tie a makeshift harness to lower someone down and rescue the dog.

The dog was clearly frightened as it cowered in the corner of the well, but transformed after he was rescued and fed a good meal. Rather than cowering from people, the dog was loving all the attention, and his couldn’t stop smiling.

Babies are able to recognize their parents within days of being born, but a little boy named Reed is having some trouble figuring out who his real father is after meeting Dad’s identical twin.

In his defense, however, Stephen and his twin brother Michael have the same haircut, clothing style, and similar reading glasses, which makes it nearly impossible to tell the difference.

In the video, the two brothers can’t help themselves as they completely confuse Reed by handing him back and forth and taking off their glasses.

Baby Reed was sure he was being held in dad’s arms, but then he turns around to see another person who looked just like dad. When asked who the person was the baby confidently answers that it’s ‘dada’.

Your wedding day is supposed to be the best day of your life, yet even after months of planning, something always seems to go wrong.

While Nesh Pillay, the bride-to-be, was getting her hair styled just before her wedding in a salon in New York City, a 330-ton crane collapsed, and crushed the pavement below. “Very quickly, everyone in the salon was a little nervous, a little scared, no one knew what happened. It was terrifying, it was very sad,” Pillay said.

Despite being dressed and ready for her wedding, Pillay had no way of getting to the intimate ceremony in time as the officiant could not wait any longer for her.

Yet when FDNY Chaplain Ann Kansfield saw the shivering bride stranded in the sleet, she knew she had to step in and help by offering her warm firefighting coat and walking the bride to her wedding.

“While the chaplain was walking me over in the freezing cold, the snow, in the slush with heels, while she was walking us over, I said, ‘Wait, a chaplain. You can marry us?’ She was like, ‘Yeah, I can.’ So I said, ‘Would you marry us?'” Pillay said. After walking the bride to the courthouse, Kansfield married the young couple in an impromptu ceremony on the courthouse steps.

When couple Hannah Yarker and Kyle Armstrong  gave birth to their twin daughters in April 2015, they couldn’t believe their eyes.

Hannah is white and Kyle is of mixed-race, so they naturally assumed their twin daughters will either take after mom’s genes or dad’s. But when their twin daughters came out- one white and one black, they were overjoyed!

Stunned new mom said, “I can’t believe I have one of each!”

But the twins aren’t just opposite when it comes to their skin color, according to their parents, Myla, and Anaya’s personalities are different in every way too.

“Myla is always on the move- she’s already, although backwards, while Anaya’s more laid back.”

Hannah says, “We can’t believe they’re twins– they’ve got the same birthday and the same mum and dad but they’re just complete opposites in every way.”

The parents admit that it took them a while to notice that the twins were different, but now their skin tones are even more process.

Myla takes after her dad with dark skin, brown eyes and brunette hair, and Anaya is more like her mom with a pale complexion, light eyes, and light hair.

Normally, non-identical twins inherit different genes as they come from separate eggs, but as Kyle carries genes for black and white skin, Anaya inherited one code while Myla inherited another.

Fitting in at school can be tough for anyone who’s a little bit different, but rather than tease, bully, or make fun of this six-year-old because of his disability, these kids came together to do something inspiring for their deaf classmate.

Zejd Coralic found it impossible to interact with his classmates or make friends because his hearing disability made communicating with other kids extremely difficult. To try to help the situation, school teacher Sanela Ljumanovic decided to teach the entire class sign language so Zejd would never feel left out.

In just three months since starting their sign language lessons, all of the first graders at the Osman Nakas primary school in Bosnia have learned the basics, which has made a huge difference in making the classroom more inclusive for Zejd.

cancer dignicap

For many women suffering from cancer, a devastating part of their battle comes from the treatment itself.

When a patient undergoes chemotherapy, they often lose their hair, and it’s a difficult and uncontrollable thing to for a lot of women to deal with. Fortunately, a new device has recently been cleared by the FDA, and it aims to help prevent hair loss in cancer patients.

It’s called the DigniCap, and it’s a silicon cap that works by cooling a patient’s scalp. Meant to be worn 30 minutes before chemotherapy and another 90 minutes after, it reduces chemotherapy-induced hair loss and keeps cancer-fighting drugs from damaging the hair. The DigniCap has sensors that monitor and maintain the temperature the patient requires, without completely freezing their scalp in the process.

According to the FDA, the product was tested on 122 women with Stage 1 and Stage 2 breast cancer currently undergoing chemotherapy, and “more than 66% of patients treated with the DigniCap reported losing less than half their hair.”

The device will cost between $1,500 and $3,000 (equating to about $300-$600 a treatment, and breast cancer patients typically average four to six treatments.)

Breast cancer survivors that have used the cap say, “it’s nice to have one less battle to overcome.”

It’s no secret that we here at LifeDaily are big fans of our brave and selfless military men and women. We believe no one deserves recognition more than they do and we love featuring stories about our soldiers.

Yet unfortunately, we come across more stories than we would like to about veterans suffering from trauma due to the war. Whether their disabilities are physical, mental or both, we know how much they’ve sacrificed for their country and want to spread hope to those who are still fighting.

In the following video from USA Today, we see firsthand just how important it is for our veterans to seek help and take care of themselves. During an interview, we see how veteran Erick Scott, who served in the Army National Guard for 16 years, is calmed by his service dog Gumbo.

Scott learned of a program called K9s for Warriors to help veterans like himself suffering from PTSD and instantly had his life changed forever.
