Science is at it again.
Those hard earned tax dollars are being put to work yet again to find out information that benefits the public (and by public I mean hot, young people that are trying to navigate their way through the dating world).
According to Daily Mail, women are significantly more attracted to those sexy suitors who cease smiling and instead opt for a more brooding brow.
Seriously, have you seen this smolder?!

Women are least attracted to smiling men, instead preferring those who looked proud and powerful, or moody and ashamed, according to a study conducted by the University Of British Columbia.
In contrast, men are most sexually attracted to women who look happy, and least attracted to those who appear proud and confident.
The 2011 report shows significant gender differences in the attractiveness of smiling. It also helps explain why the ladies are drawn to bad boys. Apparently, pride and shame come into play.
More than 1,000 adult participants rated the sexual attractiveness of hundreds of images of the opposite sex. These photos included universal displays of happiness (broad smiles), pride (raised heads, puffed-up chests) and shame (lowered heads, averted eyes).
The researchers found that women were least attracted to smiling, happy men. In contrast, men were most attracted to women who appear happy and smiling.
Lead researcher Professor Jessica Tracy said and study co-author Alec Beall said that other studies suggest that what people find attractive has been shaped by centuries of evolutionary and cultural forces.
For example, evolutionary theories suggest females are attracted to male displays of pride because they imply status, competence and an ability to provide for a partner and offspring.
According to Beall, the pride expression accentuates typically masculine physical features, such as upper body size and muscularity.
However, the researchers also emphasized that the study didn’t examine how the participants ranked the opposite sex as potential boyfriends or husbands. It simply looked at the first impression of the participants, emphasizing the carnal attraction we feel based on evolutionary needs.
In conclusion, gents, if you lock eyes at the bar, try not to smile. However, if you’re on a first date and don’t want to come across as a serial killer, I suggest you show off those pearly whites.
