Remember when you were 12-years-old and you used to go to summer camp.
You’d spend your entire day making a friendship bracelet for your camp best friend (not to be confused for your school best friend). Well, they’re making a mild comeback, but instead of going on your wrist, you can wear them in your hair. Hair is happening at the moment and hair tapestries are about to become a big deal (hopefully that means sidecuts are officially over).
The style varies from fairly simple designs like this:
To intricate forms that cover the whole head:
The look is achieved by weaving string through the hair similar to what you did in third grade art class:
But instead, you’d use hair in place of yarn, creating a woven design:
And if you can’t master doing it in your own hair, you can always get clip in:
If we learned anything from hair wraps though, this fad is likely to pass by quickly, on account of taking these things out of our hair will probably leave us shedding like a dog in summer. Oh well, savor it while it lasts and then we’ll be on to the next gimmick.
