Forget Donald Trump, we’ve found a candidate who can really knock your socks off!
Meet Norbert, the therapy dog who according to his Instagram, will be running for President this year.
Norbert is a three pound mixed breed dog with a tongue that dangles slightly out of his mouth due to the way his teeth were formed. He’s an adorable beast with a Presidential attitude.
He also knows how to give great high fives:
Because of the dogs small size, Norbert couldn’t live in just any home. He had to be given to a special caregiver who could attend to his specific needs. When Mom, Julie, adopted him in 2009, she met those special requirements that Norbert needed.
Norbert became a therapy dog when his Mom brought him into an eyeglass store in Boston one afternoon. A woman working in the store saw the dog and said he would make a wonderful therapy dog.
For those who are unfamiliar with therapy animals, these animals are trained and registered to provide love and comfort to people in places like hospitals, retirement homes, nursing homes, schools, hospices, disaster areas, and to people with learning difficulties.
Norbert passed the requirements with flying colors and now brings love and affection to people:
Norbert is also not your average politician. Rather than rubbing elbows with executives, he’s friends with other famous animals, like Lil’ Bub, who has been featured with Norbert in a children’s book.
Yup, Norbert has done some pretty cool things in his seven short years. While he doesn’t reach the age requirement of 35-year-old to run for President, I think we can make an exception for this little guy.
At the very least, let’s elect him mayor of the Norberthood:
