You’ve probably heard this song hundreds of times, but I guarantee you’ve never experienced it being performed like this before!

The Los Angeles-based Angel City Chorale knows that putting on a good stage show isn’t always just about what comes out of their mouths. Sometimes, it’s all about what leads up to the vocals that can really make or break a performance.

The following video of the non-profit community choir was filmed back in 2013, but once you watch it, there is no mystery as to why it’s recently gone viral. This is one spine-tingling cover that deserved to be discovered!

In the clip, we see the choir standing very still on stage before they slowly begin to rub their hands together, one by one. The Angel City Chorale is getting the audience ready for the storm that’s about to hit, one fully loaded with rain, thunder, and lightening.

Once the storm settles, the band starts up and the group begins to sing the 80’s classic song “Africa” by American pop-rock band Toto, which was one of the first real “world music” songs of all time, encompassing musical influences from South Africa, Bali and beyond.

The result is absolutely magical. This is definitely one performance you don’t want to miss!
