Like most kids his age, meeting his sports heroes was a dream come true for Austin Denton, but what makes him very different is that he almost didn’t get his chance.

Austin is a high school freshman and aspiring sports broadcaster from Albuquerque, New Mexico. This brave boy is also a cancer survivor and inspiration to those still fighting for their lives.

When he was just two years old, doctors discovered a cancerous tumor on Austin’s spinal cord. He went into remission 6 years ago, when he was 8 years old, but life has been far from easy for Austin since.

Due to his cancer treatment, Austin’s growth has been stunted due to radiation, he’s in a wheelchair, and he’s set to have surgery for scoliosis, according to an interview from MaxPreps.

However, these difficulties haven’t stopped Austin from literally shooting for the stars when it comes to his sportscasting dreams.

“I don’t let things get me down. I try to figure out how to make things better.” Austin told MaxPreps. “Most days I have a positive attitude.”

In the video below, we see the young football fan interview one of his heroes. Although Peyton Manning has his work cut out with Super Bowl 50, he made time to answer some questions from the very special correspondent, who got some help from legendary football star-turned-broadcaster Deion Sanders.

Watch to see this inspiring young man interview one of the greatest football players of all time like a true professional.
