A Canadian girl’s tragic death is causing her classmates to realize the significance of their own lives.
Laura Hillier, an 18-year-old from Burlington, Canada lived a full life, but unfortunately, a short one. She battled leukemia for years before passing away in late January. Unfortunately, because of her illness, she never got the chance to see prom or her senior yearbook.
However, at her funeral, friends and classmates decided to give her their own personalized sendoff when they transformed her coffin by writing messages along the side. They turned it into their own unique yearbook.
According to CTV News, Laura had been in need of a stem cell transplant. She had been waiting years, and in July she finally found a donor. However, due to the lack of hospital beds, the operation was delayed until August.
This is a tweet she posted with an uplifting smile, even though she was going through some tough times:

The cancer was in remission for a while, however it returned in November. She ended up in intensive care and then passed away in January. Afterwards, a schoolmate posted Laura’s story to Imgur to make people aware of transplant patients and encourage others to become organ donors.
