You may not know this but the United Arab Emirates is one of the few last remaining monarchies in the world. That basically means that unlike in democracies, where parliament holds the lion’s share of the power, in the UAE, the king is the king, literally. These kings are oil-rich, and literally have money to burn and that fact makes the UAE a totally unique place to live, let alone to visit. So we thought we would take a closer look at the things that make the UAE unique, and hope to get some answers as to why.
