Saying goodbye to a pet that passed can be a very difficult thing to do. Especially if you’re a child.
When 6-year-old Liam lost his pet goldfish, he decided to have a small funeral in remembrance of his loving fish.
The ceremony took place in the families bathroom in Seneca, North Carolina, and only the immediate family members attended. The service was held by Liam, while Piper, his sister looked on. Liam’s father, Alex Vassey told FOX Carolina that Spot was Liam’s fish so he wanted to speak. Liam said some very touching words:
“God..Help Spot to stay good and help him to stay comfortable. I hope he has a good journey and help him to have a good journey. Amen!”
“My wife and I were very proud that he was so concerned. They both are animal lovers and were genuinely sad. We thought they were sweet to do all of that for their fish,” Alex Vassey said.
When the ceremony was over, and Spot was flushed, Liam had a deja-vu of having a similar funeral for his last pet goldfish named Bluey.
