When new mother-to-be Sheera Lowe had to take the Amtrak train on the very popular New York City to Washington D.C. line, to her hometown of Philadelphia, she knew it wasn’t going to be the most comfortable ride of her life…

However, Lowe never expected her big day of travel from visiting her husband, a FedEx worker stationed in North Carolina, would become this exciting!

At eight months pregnant, Lowe began having contractions on the Amtrak train. The mother, who already has a 4-year-old girl, was due on March 4th, but knew her baby was well on her way when she realized her water broke.

Panicked, Lowe began walking through the aisle, according to The Washington Post looking for someone unplugged, without headphones on or their nose in their iPhone.

She came across a woman reading a book and said to her “Can you help me? I think I’m in labor.” Before the train stopped in Aberdeen, Maryland, where police were waiting for the new mother, Lowe gave birth to a healthy baby girl, who weighed 8 pounds and was wrapped up in “paper towels and sheets of aluminum foil normally meant for hot dogs.”

The good Samaritan, named Christina, stayed with Lowe the entire time, through the terrifying situation. “I’m so happy and so grateful she stayed.” Lowe told The Washington Post, of the kind stranger she decided to name her daughter, Trinity Christina, after her new hero.

The touching story has gone viral since being shared on The Aberdeen Police Station’s Facebook page.
