A man in southeastern China noticed an elderly woman struggling to cross a busy intersection, so he did the only thing he could think of before the lights changed.
He gently lifted the woman up and carried her across the street the safety. Talk about a true gentleman!
While both the man and woman are unidentified, someone in a passing car filmed the encounter, and the footage went viral on People’s Daily, China, Facebook page. The video shows the man reaching out to ask the woman if she’s ok in Longyan, Fujian province, China. After swooping her up in his arms and carrying her to the sidewalk, he sets her down safely and waits with her until she’s regained her balance.
She still has another street to cross, as the clip cuts out, but seeing what a gentleman this man is, he probably helped her cross that street too.
People are describing that this young man’s selfless act restored their faith in humanity, which has been somewhat shaken. Others say, “God, bless that young man for helping the elderly lady across the street who could not make it no her own,” one wrote. “Amen there are people who care and this young man has a heart,” another said.
While it is unknown whether these two are related or strangers, it doesn’t change the fact that this is a very nice young man.
