We live in a culture that too often stigmatizes special needs kids. However, this group of nurses, doctors, and parents are making sure these kids know JUST how beautiful they are.

In an attempt to raise money and awareness for special needs, the the Pediatric Down Syndrome Clinic at Phoenix Children’s Hospital is holding a fashion show that shows off some of the cutest models we’ve ever seen.

The kids range in age from 2-17, all of whom have down syndrome. The event is there to celebrate these kids and the abilities and beauty they possess. While the images and video shown on this page were just the rehearsal, the actual event will be taking place this Sunday (so if you live in the phoenix area, I’m talking to you).

There, our young heroes will be joined by Miss Arizona pageant winners and contestants, but the cameras were rolling this past Wednesday and captured this rehearsal.

“We celebrate great athletes and we celebrate maybe the winner of the spelling bee and kids who get scholarships, but sometimes our society forgets kids with special needs. It’s a way to celebrate their greatness,” said Dr. Robin Blitz, a pediatrician and director of the clinic.
