Let this goat give you hope, too!
Hope is an adorable little goat who doesn’t shy away from a fight. Hope’s mother was a small Pygmy goat and her father was a fairly large alpine goat. When the two were bred, the size difference meant Hope was too large for her mother’s petite body.
Unfortunately, this lead to some complications. The baby’s umbilical cord snapped during an examination which caused her to open her eyes in the womb, and led to Hope inhaling amniotic fluid. Although the following delivery was a success, Hope was born with pneumonia and permanent blindness.

Without the ability of sight, Hope had to learn to “see” through trial and error. That meant Hope would frequently bump into things and stumble more often than any goat should.
