Woman Undergoing Surgery Secretly Records Her Doctor, Is Shocked By His Behavior

While we can’t blame everyone in the medical field for a couple of bad eggs in one Houston-area hospital, what Ethel Easter discovered was going on while she was passed out under anesthesia on the operating table is definitely cause for some concern.

Easter told Fox 26 she was shocked by her doctor’s behavior and broke down in tears when he told the suffering woman she had to wait two months for hernia surgery.

“I was like, ‘I can’t wait for two months. ‘I’m terribly ill, and he said ‘listen’ he got very abrupt. He said ‘who do you think you are? You have to wait just like everybody else’,” she said.

Concerned by the man who was going to perform her surgery, Easter decided to take extreme action when she finally had to go under the knife. She hid a tape recorder in her weave hair extensions to find out more about the rude doctor.

“She’s a handful she had some choice words for us in the clinic when we didn’t book her case in two weeks,” Easter later heard her doctor say before joking, “I’m going to call a lawyer and file a complaint.”

Although the operating room chatter started out pretty harmless, it soon got nasty with other staff members criticizing her body and calling her “Precious”, referring to the 2009 film about an obese African American teenager.

“I had no idea that doctors, anesthesiologists and nurses would carry themselves in this manner in an operating room,” she said.

Harris Health System, who Fox 13 reported oversees the hospital where Easter had her operation declined to comment, citing patient confidentiality laws but said they would remind their staff and physicians to be more mindful of their comments.
