A photo of a postal worker standing in the rain has gone viral and for very good reason.

On a rainy day in February, postal worker Glenn Corbett was making his usual rounds in Pensacola, Florida when he saw a funeral procession passing by.

Not even hesitating, Corbett stepped outside of his truck and stood in the rain to salute the fallen veteran. According to Corbett’s interview with the Weather Channel, the procession lasted about 3 or 4 minutes, and although his wife Debby suggested he take his rain jacket to work that day, he was not wearing it at the time of the procession.

I stood outside of my truck. It just felt like the right thing to do,” Corbett says.

The procession was for fallen hero Leonard C. Chuck Chase who worked as a U.S. Army Paratrooper with the 101st Airborne Division. His daughter, Carole Chase-Draughan‎, was the one who snapped the photo of Glenn standing outside his truck and shared it on Facebook with a sweet caption:

“Whoever this wonderfully patriotic postman is, I would love to just thank him for his respect, during the steady rain on Wednesday afternoon as the funeral motorcade for my WWII Veteran father passed him. This is what Respect looks like!”

Glenn has been a letter carrier for 35 years and says that all of this has taken him by surprise, especially the reaction of people on Facebook. “But it’s been really nice,” Corbett says.
