Mom Warns Other Parents Why Vaccination Is So Important

Parents in the United States have the right to choose whether or not to give their newborn babies certain vaccinations and immunizations against deadly, highly contagious diseases, but the following video is excellent proof of why health experts and government officials all over the world recommend taking such precautions.

When first-time mother Cormit Avital of Australia was 28 weeks pregnant with her daughter Eva, doctors recommended she accept the vaccine for pertussis, commonly known as whooping cough. In a video from Gold Coast Health, Avital reveals how she learned the hard way that she should have trusted the experts with her newborn’s health.

“Being the healthy, fit, organic woman I said, ‘Leave me alone, I don’t need this crap,’” Eva’s mom says in the following video.

The mother says she had a healthy pregnancy, but somehow acquired the highly contagious respiratory tract infection during the last two weeks before Eva’s home birth.

 

Cormit says her newborn started out with a subtle cough, but it quickly turned into something out of a horror movie, with her baby girl being rushed back and forth to the hospital, unable to breathe.

 

“If I could turn the clock back, I’d definitely take 10 of those vaccinations ‘cause there is nothing more painful than watching your little, tiny [baby] and they can’t breathe in your hands,” Cormit says in the following video.

Although some anti-vaxxers commented that Cormit is an actor and the video was paid for by the Australian government, the CDC wrote that there has been an upward trend in recent years of the potentially life-threatening disease.
