Australian model Chontel Duncan was simply showing off her newborn son Jeremiah on Instagram, when she received a ton of backlash from commenters.
You may remember Chontel Duncan from a previous article we wrote on her, when she posted this photo to her Instagram showing the differences between her pregnant belly and her friends:
They were 4-5 week apart in their pregnancies when this photo was taken.
Following that photo, Chontel gave birth to a healthy baby boy named Duncan via c-section, and she shared this photo of him 13 days later:
While many people commented on Chontel’s amazing physique, others were quick to question the way she was holding her baby. It appeared people were very concerned that Chontel was not supporting her baby’s neck.
One commenter wrote, “Don’t be that selfish, now you are a mother and your baby is the most important! Look at his head, look how you hold that poor baby!!”
Another said, “Maybe you should support your child’s neck a little more.”
And Chontel responded with a new photo side-by-side with the original, showing Duncan resting his head comfortably on mom’s chest.
Chontel captioned the photo:
“Sorry but I’m not going to be nice about what I think about your belittling attempts to educate me on the safety or better yet my intentions as a new mum,” she captioned the photo.
She continued, “As explained earlier Miah lifted his head up an for that second that he did so, I just happened to have caught it on camera, before he then laid his head back down on my chest. New borns can lift their own heads up its not me standing there with his head flicked back shooting away… So have faith people and if you honestly don’t like my page just CLICK UNFOLLOW!!!!!”
