Every mom knows that no matter how much time you take creating a birthing strategy, things don’t always go according to plan…
New mom Micah Duncan learned this the hard way when her son Cash had to me delivered prematurely by C-section earlier this year. “I couldn’t hold him, I couldn’t touch him, anything like that,” she told local news site KSAT.
[MySanAntonio.com]That’s when the healthy mom knew the best thing she could do for her tiny newborn was to give him nutritious breast milk. She then started pumping every two hours for the next three months. “Before long, I had a little bottle, then I got a bigger bottle and then I got the biggest bottle there is.”
[MySanAntonio.com]The 28-year-old mom from San Antonio, Texas froze the extra breast milk after being warned by doctors Cash would likely not be strong enough to nurse on his own. However, the determined mom never gave up hope and eventually the baby finally latched on. “I didn’t think it would happen. I didn’t think it would ever happen. And then, little by little, it did happen,” she said.

That’s when Duncan decided to donate the 15 gallons of breast milk she had saved for Cash to the Texas Breast Milk Bank in Austin, so she could give back to those who need it most.
