Mom And Dad Raise Son To Be ‘Gender Neutral’

Lisa and Martin, the parents of one-year-old Max Price, take a different approach to parenting.

Max is a happy and healthy boy who spends his mornings playing with cars, tracks, and plastic dinosaurs. However, while playing with these stereotypical ‘boy’s toys,’ Max wears a dark blue, knee-length dress with pink flamingos on the front. As he gets bored of the cars and trucks, Max moves on to playing with a baby doll, which he pretends to breastfeed.

If the situation sounds unorthodox, that’s because it is. Mom and Dad have decided to go against traditional parenting and instead raise Max with a technique known as ‘gender neutral parenting.’

This simply means that his parents allow him to wear both traditionally male and female clothes, while playing with both traditionally male and female toys.

‘If Max wants to wear a pink tutu and fairy wings, then he can wear it,’ says Lisa. ‘He’s just expressing himself. I don’t want to put him in a certain box and treat him that way. I want to teach him to be whatever he wants to be. He can pick his own clothes and, as long as they’re warm enough for the winter, I’ll get him whatever he wants.’

Confused? Perhaps the video below will shine some light upon it. Take a look and don’t forget to SHARE this video with friends and family who might have something to say on the subject.
