Domestic violence is a horrible trend that has unfortunately grown to the level of becoming a tragedy in too many cases.
In an attempt to change the way we talk about domestic violence, Marie Claire Australia has recently come out with a shocking campaign that sheds some light on the way it begins.
Ladies, how many of us have been told that when boys treat us poorly as children, they do it because they like us?
This narrative seems to be a tale much older than time that plays out not only in the movies, but also on the playground.
Perhaps we should change the narrative, as Marie Claire is attempting to do. Just because a man gives a woman attention doesn’t make that attention a good thing. Let’s start taking note of the kind of attention we see ourselves giving each other and make sure that attention has a positive influence on the world.
After all, it was Ghandi who told us how to influence the world when he said, “be the change you wish to see in the world.” I want to see the world change for the better, therefore I am trying to be more conscious of my own decisions and the influence they have.
If you too wish to see a positive change in the world and if you are willing to enact change in your own life, then please SHARE this video to spread the message that change starts with us, and domestic violence ends with us.
