If there is one big difference between adopted dogs and pet store pooches, it has to be that the rescued dogs have a sense of loyalty and gratitude that other pets can’t comprehend.
The following story is all the proof you’ll ever need that adopting a dog in need of a forever home and loving family will come back in tenfold over time. As you can see in this touching story about a “dangerous dog” who shows compassion after his rescue, they never forget how they were saved from a life of loneliness and starvation.
When the Blake Ryan and Tammy Renea Stowe of Henry County, Virginia adopted mixed breed mutt Banjo two years ago, they knew he would make a perfect pal for their tiny son Mason. However, the parents had no idea that Banjo would someday thank them for his rescue in a way they never hoped would happen.
“I ran into the woods and couldn’t find him and that kind of crushed me and then it started getting dark,” Blake Ryan said. Everyone feared the worst, but then after 9 hours of searching it became evident that Banjo had been with the little boy all along, watching over him like a guardian angel in the deep, dark Virginia woods and eventually leading searchers to Mason about 3/4 miles from his home at around 3 am.
“He brought my son back,” said Ryan. “He stayed with him through the woods and didn’t let him out of his sight and let the people know where he was.”
