There exists a world that you and I will never know.
It’s the world of the rich and bored, those members of society who have no better way to spend their day than to come up with ridiculous ideas for the sake of ‘making art.’
While I will probably never have the opportunity to grace my lips with an edible balloon, there are folks out there who have already done so.
Ridiculous as it sounds, I have to hand it to the guys who came up with this genius idea.
Edible balloons are made from a viscous mix of green apples and sugar, which is carefully inflated into a balloon shape. The string of the balloon is dehydrated apple. The helium is still helium.
Then there are two ways to eat an edible balloon and neither can be done gracefully. You can either bite into one with your teeth, thus popping it and sucking in the helium, or you can use a pin that’s attached to the bottom.
Personally, I recommend going right at it with your chompers, but I’ll never have the opportunity to chomp down on such a delicacy so I suppose my opinion is frivolous.
So if you ever find yourself snacking on a sugar encased ball of helium, remember it doesn’t matter how ridiculous you look, it’s all about how ridiculous you sound.
