More than 10 women in the Toronto area claiming they were given identical 3D images of their child at Pickering, Ontario prenatal imaging clinic.
The identical images come after a woman named Jenn Cusimano posted a picture from her ultrasound to Facebook, and another mother-to-be, Carolyn Yao, posted what appears to be the exact same photo. Cusimano says hers was taken on May 3, and the Yao’s was supposedly taken on April 9.
It turns out that the image does appear to be identical and it also appears on the company’s website.
When CTV News reached out to BabyView Clinic, the owner’s husband, Adeel Mir said:
“We have specific folders for every client. So we keep those images in those folders to get the print-out. Due to some virus, those images were not going into those specific folders, which were created for those clients. To be honest we still don’t know what happened,” he said he only learned of the replica on Wednesday morning.
“I apologize on behalf of BabyView,” Mir continued. “We are sorry. Whatever occurred, this was not intentional. It wasn’t our intention. We feel sorry for those parents who didn’t get the proper service. We’re sorry for that.”
Cusimano explains to CTVNews that she was immediately enraged. “I thought ‘Maybe it was a mistake’, but there was something telling me it wasn’t,” she said. She continued, “I’ve pretty much had no sleep, I’ve been up all night shaking. The anxiety, the stress, the disappointment. I can’t even begin to imagine how someone could do this or even think they could get away with it, in this day and age.”
At least 10 women from the clinic have reported getting the same ultrasound photo, and Cusimano has even created a Facebook group for the women to post their photos.
Cusimano has plans to go to another 3D ultrasound clinic to confirm her baby’s gender and receive new photos.
