A kitten, now appropriately named Kia, has been rescued from a bizarre place.

The tiny tabby managed to wrestle his way inside the engine compartment of a Kia, which he refused to remove himself from for three whole days.

When the owners finally called firefighter Brittany Bishop to seek help, Bishop wasn’t sure how to respond.

“We were like, ‘Did you hit the cat and it got stuck?’” said Bishop. “He said, ‘No he’s in our wheel well and we can’t get him out.'”

Faced with no other option, the couple had to get in the car and drive 6 miles to seek help from the fire department. By the grace of God, the kitten managed to survive the journey, still refusing to remove itself from the engine compartment. That poor animal must have been so frightened.

Upon arriving at the fire station, Bishop still struggled to get the kitten out.”He ran, but he didn’t run out of the car,” said Bishop with a giggle. “He just ran to the front of the car, then he would run to the back of the car and the other side of the car, I didn’t know there was that much room, but he found it.”

Then, FINALLY, the kitten coaxed itself out of its hovel and found better footing.

We’re so grateful this lucky guy found a better place to call home than a Kia. He has since been dubbed Kia, but we have a feeling he’ll be avoiding cars for a long time. If you are grateful for the heroes who rescue little guys like these, please SHARE this inspiring story with friends and family.
