Children In Germany Attend School Outdoors In Unique ‘Forest Kindergarten’

Sitting still in class is something that many young children struggle with.

They can’t pay attention, they’re disruptive, and in some cases, they need to be removed. In fact, the attention deficit issue has gotten so bad, many children are prescribed strong drugs like Ritalin and Adderall, strong amphetamines that force children to sit still.

But what if children were allowed to explore their environments? What if they were encouraged to yell, jump, scream, and climb trees whenever they wanted? What if nap time was in the shade of a tree and the children had to learn boundaries on their own, not because a teacher told them to?

How would a school like this shape the country they live in? Well, I don’t have an answer for you right now, but check back in twenty years because the children currently attending a ‘forest kindergarten’ in Germany will be all grown up by that point.

It’s an unconventional method, but it might just be the next best thing. Parents who have children with ADHD, would a school like this benefit your kids or is this simply too much time spent outdoors?
