It has been said about our modern world that “we live in public.”

We’ve created a space where everything is available to the public. If you go on vacation to Aruba and you post those fabulous vacation photos to Instagram, those photos are available to anybody savvy enough to find them.

The same goes for Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and a slew of other devices. All kinds of personal information is available on these platforms, the kind of information that could be used to answer security questions for online banking or other private platforms.

For the sake of proving how easy it is to hack somebody’s life, a coffee shop conducted a fascinating social experiment.

Cifas, a coffee shop in the United Kingdom, conducted an experiment where they lured people in with a simple gimmick: a free cup of coffee. Who could turn down such an offer?

In exchange for the free coffee, all the patrons had to do was give a simple sample of personal information. But nobody noticed the suspicious truck not far from the naive coffee-drinkers.

But they were shocked when the barista handed them their cup of free coffee!

Take a look at the experiment below and don’t forget to SHARE with somebody who could be more social media savvy. You never know who is looking at your information and what they’re digging for, so always remember to set your social media to private.
