Every once in a while, we find the inspiring story of a big cat and his little dog. This time, we found the story of Bonedigger, the 500-pound lion who has a pride of…dachshunds?

Bonedigger lives at the G.W. Exotic Animal Park in Wynnewood, Oklahoma. The big fluffball is mildly disabled and has a metabolic disease, but he also has the cutest troupe of caretakers.

You see, every lion needs a pride and this one is no exception.

Bonedigger met Milo and three other Dachshunds when he was only 4-week-old. The pride has been inseparable ever since.

Joe Schreibvogel from the park said the dogs appear protective of Bonedigger! Bonedigger gets visibly upset when his pride (of dogs) is separated from him! Milo loves to clean Bonedigger’s teeth and will sometimes imitate Bonedigger’s roars…so it’s easy to see the humor in this hilariously adorable situation.

It’s a good thing Bonedigger is a calm animal because these pooches are smaller than his tail…and probably his teeth!

But this strange family is also an inspiring one who could teach us quite a bit about love and acceptance. After all, if natural enemies with such a staggering difference in size can get along, maybe we can too.

If you believe we should all work to be one pride despite our differences then please SHARE this uplifting story with friends and family on Facebook.
