When it comes to a romantic movie, the chemistry between characters matter just as much as the storyline. Thankfully, there are a few actors and actresses with undeniable chemistry that paired up more than once to bring us some of our all time favorite love stories.
Here are ten on-screen couples who paired up more than once.
10. Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks
Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan have had quite the on screen romance. They have been paired up three different times over the course of their careers. The first was in the 1990 film Joe Versus the Volcano, the second was the 1993 movie Sleepless in Seattle, and the third was the 1998 film You’ve Got Mail.
9. Julia Roberts and Richard Gere
Julia Roberts and Richard Gere first appeared as an onscreen couple in the 1990 film Pretty Woman, and then a second time in the 1999 movie Runaway Bride. In both movies, Gere’s character falls for a damaged woman played by Roberts.
8. Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling
Ryan Gosling’s career in Romance movies was first launched to stardom by his role in The Notebook, and thankfully he has returned to the screen a few more times, albeit with a different leading lady. Gosling starred in the romantic comedy Crazy, Stupid, Love along side Emma Stone in 2011, and once again in the 2013 drama Gangster Squad.
7. Jason Segel and Emily Blunt
In the 2010 comedy, Gulliver’s Travels, Jason Segel and Emily Blunt play a pauper and princess respectively. Two years later, the two are seen together again in The Five Year Engagement, which follows the trials of an engaged couple.
6. Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio
When two of Hollywood’s most prized actors come together in a film, there’s bound to be some sparks. Lucky for us, this happened not once, but twice. Winslet and DiCaprio first appeared as an on-screen couple in The Titanic, and a second time years later as adults in Revolutionary Road.

Anne Hathaway and Jake Gyllenhaal first played a movie couple in the 2005 drama Brokeback Mountain, however Gyllenhaal’s character is in love with another man. The two get a second chance for movie love in the 2010 film Love and Other Drugs.

The chemistry was palpable between Sandra Bullock and Keanu Reeves in the 1994 film Speed. The two appeared together as a movie couple a second time in 2006 in The Lake House.

Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence were first paired together in Silver Linings Playbook, and although it seemed like an odd pairing, there was definitely chemistry between the two. Cooper and Lawrence appear together a second time in the 2014 drama Serena.

Whenever Kate Hudson and Matthew McConaughey pair up as love interests, there’s sure to be chemistry. The two are paired together first in the hit romantic film How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, and then years later in the movie Fool’s Gold.

The two first appeared along side each other in the 2005 film The 40-Year-Old Virgin, then again as an on-screen couple in 2007 in Knocked Up, and for a third time in 2012 in This is 40.
