9-Year-Old Saves Newborn Brother From Being Abducted In Hospital Room

After giving birth to her new son, a woman in Germany was shocked to hear somebody had tried to abduct the child right out of the maternity ward.

Shocking as this may be, perhaps the most surprising part of the story comes from who noticed something was strange.

The woman’s 9-year-old son, who has not been named because of his age, saw a woman lingering around the hospital room while the mother was sleeping. The boy thought something was suspicious and made a mental note of the oddity.

Later, the woman, who is identified only as a 34-year-old woman from Hamburg, was spotted taking the child from the hospital room while the mother was sleeping.

The woman was quickly arrested and taken to a psychiatric ward.

Meanwhile, the big brother just became a big hero. This story could have ended much differently if it wasn’t for his cautious eye and quick-thinking.

Police spokesman Ulf Wundrack said Monday that the boy’s actions contributed “significantly” to the baby’s return.
