Whether the child’s death was accidental, like this woman whose daughter fell into a washing machine, or on purpose, like the monster mom who fed her baby a teaspoon of salt, there is only one reason we feel compelled to share these tragic stories: to prevent this from ever happening to another family.
That’s exactly why one Houston, Texas mother decided to finally speak up about the most tragic accident of her life, the death of her 5-month-old daughter, Lily.
“I won’t forget this for the rest of my life, but I didn’t say goodbye to her because we were in a hurry,” the mom, whose name has not been revealed, tells KHOU in the following video. “Normally, I take the older two kids to school, and today, he was trying to bless me and took all three of them,” she said of her husband, who is still too distraught to talk on camera.
Her husband had dropped off their kids at school, not realizing the baby was still in the backseat. He even went to their daycare expecting to pick up the newborn. “When he walked up to the door, they just looked at him and said, ‘She hasn’t been here all day.’”
What happened next is devastating beyond words, but it’s important for other parents to not judge and realize this could happen to anyone.
