Every parent knows that taking a kid along while running errands is not exactly as easy as you first think.
From having little ones run off when you turn around to grab something to more terrifying, unforgettable, and life-changing moments, like when this mom learned the hard way not to leave kids alone in the car while it’s running, one thing stays the same: parents need to always be on alert for scary encounters.
Luckily for a tiny 1-year-old boy in Braintree, Massachusetts, his dad was paying full attention and was able to prevent an unthinkable situation. While at the South Shore India Market shopping with the boy, the father at first thought a worker at the store was being playful when he picked up the baby and threw him over his shoulder.
Yet it only took a matter of seconds for Dad to realize something far more sinister was going on and rushed to stop the would-be kidnapper. When the dad confronted the man, later identified as 47-year-old Stephen O’Brien, he handed over the son but was soon arrested and give a bail of $100,000.
