I have a strong opposition to attending a movie while it’s in theaters.
I haven’t been to a movie theater since 2012. True, I may be a film buff and my dream is to make life-changing documentaries, but I still can’t bring myself to set foot inside a theater more than once every four years. The cost of tickets isn’t worth watching the movie and don’t even get me started on snacks.
On the one hand, ticket sales barely cover the cost of getting the film in theaters, and once you factor in staff and building maintenance, the theater barely breaks even. At that rate, all the money the theater makes from movies comes from concessions.
But on the other hand, is a medium popcorn and coke really worth the cost of a year’s tuition at an Ivy-League school?
A handful of teens thought the cost of concessions wasn’t worth it, so they came up with a unique way to sneak snacks into the movie.
The solution came in the form of a spontaneously planned pregnancy (kinda) and a watermelon.
