Baby Koala Won’t Let Go Of Stuffed Bear After Losing Mom To A Car Crash

There’s nothing more heartbreaking than a newborn losing their mother.

That’s why when a tiny koala named Shayne had his story shared by the Australia Zoo Wildlife Warriors on Facebook, people far and wide were touched by how the newborn coped with his mother’s tragic death.

In a post that has since gone viral, Australia Zoo wrote, “Losing his mum after being hit by a car, Shayne was forced to fend for himself and was found by rescuers as he was being chased by crows!”

Although Shayne survived the crash, people are worried about the koala’s challenge ahead of growing up without a mother.

“Thankfully, Shayne has no injuries as a result of the accident, instead, he’s dealing with the loss of his mum and the vital life lessons he needs to learn in order to become an independent, wild koala,” they wrote.

The 9-month-old bear may not have his mom to hold onto anymore, but Zoo caretakers were stunned to see that the sweet baby refused to let go of a stuffed toy koala that likely resembles his missing parent.
