One fed up mommy-to-be is schooling the internet on proper pregnancy etiquette.
Jill Krause, who blogs about parenting on Baby Rabies, posted a video to Facebook called “What (NOT) To Say To A Pregnant Woman.”
In the video, Krause is clearly agitated by a man who walked up to her in the grocery store and demanded to know when her due date was. Then he rudely replied, “Damn, girl. You SURE it’s not twins?”.
This upset Krause to no end so she posted a PSA to Facebook explaining to people the only thing they should ever say to a pregnant woman.
“The next time you are so taken aback by a pregnant woman’s appearance that you feel the need to say something to her, this is all you’re allowed to say,” she explains. The phrase in question: “You look amazing.”
“I don’t care if she looks like Jabba the Hutt incubating a small planet,” Krause adds. “You look amazing.” She continued to say that the alternative to this is to “shut the hell up.”
Krause’s video has already received 1.3 million views on Facebook and comments from women across the world. One woman wrote, “I had a gentleman try to touch my belly, and then get offended when I tried to touch his in return.”
Even men sympathized with the pregnant mom, one sharing: “I’m a fat man, and I’ve had my share of rude things said to my face, including “Damn, how much do you weigh?” and “when is the baby due?”. While I sympathize with the expectant mothers, and would never dream of touching her belly or making personal remarks, rest assured you are not alone.”
